Final call for our Full Moon Meditation tomorrow - 29th October - to send our Blessings to the US Election Process. See our Facebook Page ('liking' and 'sharing' this page will spread the word far and wide if you feel so inclined). I, for one, have surrendered the process to the Universe and/or the Angels, in the hope that the eventual outcome is in the best global interest. We'd like to magnify this process by sending Lightworker Blessings via a focussed meditation at 9pm (or use Tehuti/Eth to bend time if you find another time more convenient) on the 29th October Full Moon. My November theme is Celebration. With Halloween round the corner and the website launched, it seemed like a relevant topic. It's funny, I remember when I was growing up, here in the UK, Halloween was a very low key affair. In about 1970, my sister Fiona and I dressed up as ghosts (a simple sheet over the head in each case) and knocked on some doors - not as a Trick or Treat stunt as that was unheard of then, but just for entertainment really. We got very 'short shrift*' from one annoyed parent who promptly accused us of terrifying her 10 year old son into nightmares for a week and said she was going to report us to the Police! Being rather young ourselves we feared a big telling off from our own parents - especially if the Police were involved - so we were too scared to go home for several hours. And of course when we did, our parents made no mention of it ...

* when relating the story above, I became intrigued with the expression 'short shrift' and where it came from, as it is such an underused expression but felt right in the context used. Apparently whilst it now generally means 'brief and unsympathetic treatment' historically the term is derived from a brief period allowed to a condemned prisoner to make confession! Whilst thinking of felons (or should I say felines), here is a link to a hillarious 2 minute clip of a 'cat burgler' in action. Dusty - a cat living near San Francisco - is such a prolific collector of other people's belongings (11 on one night at his most active) that he is nick-named Klepto!

On a separate note, another reason to celebrate, The Independent Newspaper ran an article about an innovative British Company in Stockton-on-Tees entitled Pioneering scientists turn fresh air into petrol in massive boost in fight against energy crisis.

October Review

About six weeks ago, my eldest daughter, who is currently studying German for 'A' Level, casually remarked that it would be great if we could go to Germany for some of Half Term so she could practice! After sending a couple of emails to our supportive colleagues in Germany, Petra Kempf - who is building a dedicated Healing Centre on the outskirts of the Black Forest - managed to arrange an impromptu trip for us in the Offenburg area. This included an opportunity for me to meet some of her amazing students and she also sorted out a well-matched weekend exchange host for my daughter, such that we both had an enjoyable, educational and productive week in the area. I hadn't spoken much German since obtaining a basic 'O' Level qualification in 1976, so it was quite an experience for me to attend a weekend retreat with Petra and eight wonderfully welcoming local ladies who all encouraged my 'Pigin' German. Of course Petra and several others spoke impeccable English and summarised the proceedings for me where possible.

Petra is a powerfully intuitive teacher specialising in Constellation Family Relationship work although she is also very familiar with Angela's Angelology, and many other healing modalities including Yoga. Petra's amazing dog Teddybär (8 months) is totally at home with the healing sessions and Yoga classes! 

I can't wait to announce the official opening of Petra's Healing Centre sometime next year.

Outside the leaves are finally turning their beautiful autumn shades and falling, allowing the trees to release their toxins and prepare for Winter. After a challenging month diegestion-wise, which may or may not be related to the changing energies as we approach the much-heralded 2012 Winter Solstice; I've decided it's time to do another personal detox over the month of November.  

Equinox New Moon

Today, Monday 15th October, is October Horse in Roman tradition, this being the Ides of October.  The October Ides featured a two-horse chariot race on the Campus Martius.

It's also the Equinox New Moon at 13.03.  The New Moon Abundance ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.  See Celestial Forecast drop down menu to right for instructions.   

October Blog

My October theme is Global Consciousness; it seems a relevant theme as the US election frenzy culminates into its final month, whilst the rest of the world looks on, seemingly detached.

There's no getting away from it, social media has an enormous impact on Global Consciousness. The 24th-28th September was Social Media Week in London. Being a long standing customer of Constant Contact for my newsletters and event management, I was fortunate to be invited to two presentations at Google Campus. The first event 'How small businesses win in a socially connected world', supplied tips from successful entrepreneurs, who have implanted effective web campaigns involving Facebook and Twitter interaction. The second presentation 'Multichannel social media - small biz friend or foe?' featured a panel of social media experts who have each specialised in a different medium. As well as Facebook and Twitter, Pinterest and Linked-in were also highlighted. I do already use Twitter, Facebook (Harmony Healing and Reyad Sekh Em pages can be 'liked' to receive updates), Linked-In and the Fabulous Women Forum, for the dissemination of spiritually oriented events and spotlight on Celestial Forecast dates at they occur. I came away from these events with lots of innovative ideas but realising that my first priority has to be to get the new website finally up and running. It's certainly been a labour of love and patience delayed by a never-reducing 'to-do' pile on which 'launching the updated and totally revised website' seems to have been permanently stuck in the middle for far too long. Hopefully it will be launched in the next month or so.

Even my lovely elder sister, angelologist Angela McGerr, who has remained blinkered to the benefits of social media, has finally been cajoled by her students and colleagues to create an active Facebook site. On another note entirely, the London Paralympic 2012 Closing Ceremony on 9th September - at which we managed to obtain amazing seats (see below under September Review) turned out to be a Fire Festival with presentations which would have sat comfortably in any Pagan or Druidic Ritual. Even featuring (albeit a semi-parody) on Crop Circles, I was utterly amazed by the spritually orientated undercurrents at the event. Wow, what a turn-up!

September Review

September involved mostly catching up with work after the school summer holidays and my youngest started at a new Sixth Form College miles away but is enjoying the change, not least the co-ed environment after 5 years at a girls school! My oldest daughter passed her driving test, ushering in a new degree of independence and flexibility in the household.

We were so lucky at the The Paralympic Closing Ceremony, after constant checking online, I managed to secure a couple of tickets which were returns from the Getty Images Photographer's Bay so we had an amazing view from the top of the stadium and even lots of legroom and a desk for our sandwiches - how civilized! As mentioned above, the ceremony, featuring Coldplay, was themed on the elements and seasons and was an incredibly Pagan/Druidic occasion.

The final week of September was Social Media Week in London, again mentioned above. I learnt how much I didn't know, but felt I was given plenty of scope for my ongoing education.
