  • Sunday 13th October, Full Ivy Moon

Sunday 13th October is the Full Ivy Moon @ 22.10.

If you are an angel fan, the angel of the Moon is Gabriel.

To the left is a beautiful image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood from my sister Angel McGerr's A Harmony of Angels book (and Harmony Angel Cards).

Both are out of print and collectible but we still have a few remaining copies via the Harmony Shop.

See link for instructions on Angela's Angelic Meditation with Gabriel.

At the time of the Full Moon the Sun and Moon are in opposition. The solar (sun) energy influences our masculine/yang archetypal attributes (our outer world) such as strength, courage, identity, self-esteem, expression, conscious beliefs and determination together with our logical outlook.  Whereas the lunar energy (moon) influences our femininely archetypal attributes (our inner world), such as our unconscious beliefs, hidden emotions, nurturing feelings, creativity and intuition. The Full Moon is a powerful and appropriate time to show gratitude for life and the riches and bounty bestowed upon us by Mother Earth (Gaia).

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, and associated each with a tree; this is the Ivy Moon(thoughtco.com). Samhain (Halloween, 31st October) is approaching and the year is coming to a close. The Ivy Moon marks the end of the harvest season, when most of the plants have withered but the evergreen Ivy carries on (even when its host has died), reminding us of the ongoing circle of life - life, death and rebirth. The Celts called the month Gort (pronounced go-ert) and it is seen as a time to banish fear and negativity from your life. Protect yourself from people, products and activities that are toxic to you. Ivy can be used in magical ceremonies for protection, healing, co-operation and for binding lovers together.

Other names for a Full Moon in October are: Harvest Moon, Hunter's Moon (Northern Hemisphere) or Egg Moon, Fish Moon, Seed Moon, Pink Moon, Waking Moon, (Southern Hemisphere). Names for the moon can also relate to the season, so this Full Moon could also be called the Harvest Moon, or Hunter’s Moon, Frosty Moon, Beaver Moon (after the autumnal equinox)or Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Planting Moon, or Milk Moon, Rose Moon, Flower Moon, or Strawberry Moon (after the spring equinox). Source = earthsky.org.

The time between any Full Moon and the next New Moon is a good time, energetically, to detox the body. As avoiding toxins is recommended for the Ivy Moon, detoxing might also be advisable. I recommend anoil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

  • Awaken Your Avatar, 21st & 30th March 2019

Moon Scarletts shotThursday 21st March & Saturday 30th March are both 3-3-3s numerologically, for which I've chosen the theme Awaken Your Avatar; which is basically a suggestion that we consolidate our internal conflict (balance our masculine/feminine, home/work-life, even positive/negative personality traits) and focus on connecting with our inner knowing (Higher Self) which we all hold within.  This means opening the heart and working toward integrating the Higher Self (spiritual aspects) and Lower Self (basic functional needs) to create an enlightened being (Avatar).

2019 is a '3' year in numerology (2+0+1+9 = 12, then 1+2 =3), March is the third month and we have four dates this month where the digits add up to three (3rd, 12th, 21st and 30th)' giving us four separate examples of 3:3:3 numerology, which can be interpreted as meaning 'awaken your avatar' as well as 'creating heaven on earth'.  These dates will offer amplified energies for manifesting our hopes and dreams.  Full details on the numerology are detailed in the separate section below.

2010 was the last '3 year'. That was the year when I saw the film Avatar and was struck by some very deep resonances within the storyline (though I personally think the film would have been improved by at least 30-45 mins less battle combat scenes). The blue skin of the Na'vi is interesting (Ptah, the Egyptian Deity, is depicted with blue skin and it is said that the beings from Sirius have blue skin), but I particularly like the way the Na'vi understood the inter-relationship between species and the need to honour all life forms, plus their appreciation of the life force infrastructure network operating via trees!  This is something that my sister (Angela McGerr) and I work with (via the Sacred Eden Tree, original archetypal tree from the Garden of Eden), through which much global and planetary healing can be disseminated.  Most people would not understand this concept at all, so in a way, films like Avatar sew the seeds for this being not such a challenging idea!  Of course Avatar, though it has come to mean in techno speak representation of self as a chosen archetype (or even via a Caricature), as defined by is original Sanskrit meaning, was the representation/incarnation of a Deity via a human or animal body, so in the film both definitions are combined with the idea of an idealised/perfected template of self.

By Awakening our Avatar, we can become masters of our destiny.  Just imagine what we can do by tuning in 'en masse' at 3.33 (am or pm would work, though I fancy pm will be more popular!) on any of these 3:3:3 portals. I will be undertaking a meditation between 3 - 3.33, hopefully on all of these dates, but certainly on the 3rd and 30th, please tune-in if you are available.  Close your eyes at a convenient time, which could be 3pm in your local time or the equivalent of 3pm GMT (when we will be meditating), or, if this is not possible, then invoke Eth, the angelic Guardian of time, to bend time so that you can join us etherically.  Send your positive intentions for awakening your Avatar and also for seeing the planet healed, to create for ourselves the next golden age.  See this Lost Generation You Tube video link for a thought-provoking (1 minute 50 seconds) presentation on the need for global responsibility.  This was also, synchronistically, first uploaded in 2010.

Thursday 21st March @ 01.43 (Wednesday night/Thursday morning) is Equinox Alder Full Moon. Its also the third and final of three consecutive Supermoons; see the separate Blog entry above for more.

March CF HH coloursAs we progress into April, a theme emerges which venerates spring, renewal and fertility as well as nourishment. Known for April Fool’s Day and April Showers, the month often hosts Easter, as it does this year. In the forest, we start to see (and smell) the beautiful bluebells, a marker of ancient woodland, which reach their full splendour in May.

The month of April was supposedly named after the Roman Goddess Venus (leading to Her Veneralia festival on 1st April), originally named Aphrilis after her equivalent Greek Goddess Aphrodite (Aphros) or the Etruscan version Apru. To the Anglo-Saxons, April was called Easter-mōnaþ "Easter Month", "Month of the Goddess Ēostre".  No prizes for guessing which Christian Festival took its name from this annual festival.

April begins with April Fool's Day plus the Roman Festivals of Veneralia & Fortuna Virilis, as well as an early New Moon, hence our Moon Alignment Programme runs for th entire month until the following New Moon on 30th. This New Moon sets the scene for Ramadan, whch runs throughout the month. Full Moon, which is the Easter Pink Moon, is on 16th April which is Easter Saturday. This year we have Easter 15th - 18th April, although Orthodox Easter is a week later culminating on 25th April. In the Roman calendar, April also hosted Magna Mater on the 4th & Floralia on 28th, widely believed to be connected to Beltane. April is also a month for some international awareness days including Autism Awareness Day on 2nd, World Health Day on the 7th and Earth Day on 22nd. In the UK, we celebrate St George's Day and Shakespeare's birthday on 23rd. For those who celebrate the chance to get outdoors, we have the Lyrids Meteor shower peaking, as usual 21st April, and we have a Forest Bathing event scheduled for the Sunday 24th April at Harry Edwards, near Shere (Surrey) which may feature some early bluebells, of which there are thousands at Harry Edwards.

We are also re-running the New Moon New Vision virtual course for a full lunar cycle. To assist with therapeutic and abundant alignment with the moon cycle, our next Lunar Alignment Programme commences with the New Moon on Friday 1st April and runs until Saturday 30th April. During this programme, we learn together how to take full advantage of energetic support from the moon cycle which assists manifestation when waxing and promotes release when waning.

For a more in-depth analysis of the listed festivals and spiritually significant days, such as April Fool's Day and Veneralia, I publish a blog post on the day in question. Or to receive the information to your mail inbox, sign-up for Blog update alerts.

April FoolThursday 1st April is April Fool’s day.

A day for practical jokes, April Fools Day may originate from the move from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar.

This moved the start of the year almost three months, from the Spring Equinox to the start of January! Those who refused to recognise the new calendar and still saw April as the start of the year were labelled "April Fools".

Much about this in our specific Blog post on 1st April.

Veneralia Fortuna Virilis 1st AprilThursday 1st April, in addition to being April Fool’s Day, is also the Roman celebration of Veneralia and Fortuna Virilis.

Both celebrations seem loosely connected with Venus who is honoured on this day and whose advice is sought on matters of love.

    Pagan Dark Moon 13th 2Friday 1st April @ 07.27 isthe New Moon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy. There are video instructions on my Facebook Page or You Tube Page.

Were supporting WAAW insta 2 1Saturday 2nd April is United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day. This year marks the 15th annual World Autism Awareness Day. This is a day when organisations around the world hold special events to raise funding and awareness of autism.

One of the ways that organisations have recognised Autism Day in the past, was to light their building blue, as part of the Autism Speaks "light it up blue" campaign. It was their way to shine a light on autism. Many famous buildings and structures were lit up blue, including the Empire State Building & Niagara Falls, USA, Christ the Redeemer statue, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada, the Great Buddha in Japan and and the Sidney Opera House, Australia, .

For 2021 & 2022, the UN theme for World Autism Acceptance day is “Inclusion in the Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities in a Post-Pandemic World”. Find out more about resources for children at twinkl.co.uk

Apparently, there is an entire World Autism Acceptance Week, 28th March to 3rd April, which is recognised in the UK, see autism.org.uk for details.

Complete fasting is observed from sunrise on 2nd April to sunset for 30 days, until Saturday 30th April.

Magna Mater 4th AprilMonday 4th April, this year, is also Magna Mater in the Roman calendar.

This is the festival of Cybele, Phrygian Great Earth Mother. Her priests took on female clothes and identities to commemorate her lover (or in siome sources her son) Attis, who was castrated and died of the wounds but was later resurrected.

World Health Day 7th AprilThursday 7th April is World Health Day. The message of World Health Day is simple: giving people access to healthcare without the prospect of financial hardship.

COVID-19 has highlighted, that our world is an unequal one, with access to healthcare being entirely dependent on the geographical location and conditions into which people are born, live, work, grow and age.

The theme for 20221 is 'Our Planet, Our Health'.

Palm Sunday 28thSunday 10th April is Palm Sunday in the Christian Calendar this year. Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday, is the 6th Sunday of Lent and the final Sunday before Easter.

Traditionally it marks the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

The name is believed to commemorate the placement of palm leaves on the road to soften the surface for the donkey on which he was riding.

Good Friday 2nd AprilFriday 15th April is the Christian Festival of Good Friday, which is a Bank Holiday in the UK as part of the Easter break.

This commemorates the day when Jesus was crucified. It was not called ‘Good Friday’ until 4th Century and may be a corruption of God’s Friday.

Saturday 16th April is Easter Saturday in the Christian Calendar.

Easter Pink Moon 16th AprilSaturday 16th April is also Easter Pink Full Moon @ 19:57 UK time (GMT+1), we are holding our Full Moon Meditation tonight, see entry below. Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

For details of Full Moon timings for the year, as well as instructions for an Angela McGerr Angelic Meditation with Gabriel, see Harmony Healing Full Moon link.

Easter Pink Moon Meditation 16th AprilSaturday 16th April, 7.30-9.30pm UK time (GMT+1) is our Full Moon Unity Consciousness Meditation.

During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (£1 admin fee added for PayPal, concessions to RSE/VFoA graduates), book at the Harmony Shop.

This activity serves as a good taster of Joanna's work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. And, most importantly, it's a step towards making a difference to the global predicament. To find out how working on your own spiritual consciousness can help humanity and the planet by raising the overall human consciousness levels, see Joanna's You Tube explanation.

hare triscol by Jackie MorrisSunday 17th April is Easter Sunday, which is generally taken to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus three days after his crucifixion. Intriguingly, Easter Sunday is not a set date but is calculated according to the Lunar cycle, so it can move around between 22nd March and 25th April. It's fixed as the Sunday following the first Full Moon after the Vernal (Spring) Equinox.

This points to the celebration being linked to an earlier Pagan celebration, which were all associated with seasons and moon cycles.  The name Easter itself is derived from the Pagan God Eostre. the Easter Egg is reminiscent of the Pagan egg to symbolise fertility. And of course, the Easter Bunny, a strange addition to a crucifixion story, makes a lot more sense when viewed as a sign of spring, and possibly even a hare. Watch my YouTube presentation: Was Easter superimposed into an earlier Pagan Festival?

The Hare is another ancient symbol of fertility, with a 28 day gestation period very linked to the lunar cycle.

In Ancient Egypt the hare is a hieroglyph meaning ‘existence’.

Monday 18th April is Easter Monday, which is Bank holiday in the UK.

Lyrids 21st AprilThursday 21st (late) until dawn Friday 22nd April is the Lyrids Meteor Shower.

The Lyrids are an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at their peak.

These meteors can produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. This year the shower peaks on the night of April 21st/22nd, although some meteors can be visible from April 16th - 25th.

Look for meteors radiating from the constellation of Lyra after midnight, the later you view in the morning of the 22nd, less meteors will be below the horizon and therefore more will be visible but as sunrise approaches light pollution will hamper viewing.

However, the proximity of the Full Moon on the 16th April, means light pollution from the waning moon could be a hindrance. See rmg.org for more.

Earth Day 22nd AprilFriday 22nd April is Earth Day, which is heralded as a pivotal opportunity for people, corporations and governments to join together to create a global green economy.

The theme for 2022 is Invest in Our Planet, see more at earthday.org.

It is hoped that coordinated efforts now will be recognized by future generations as a turning point.

Shakespeares birthdaySaturday 23rd April is St George’s Day in England, celebrating England's patron saint, St George.

England's National Day is celebrated on the anniversary of his death, which is on April 23rd.

Shakespeares birthdayAccording to legend, St George was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess.

The English flag is the red Cross of St. George, which is widely displayed as a symbol of national identity.

It's also supposedly Shakespeare's birthday and deathday.

However, 23rd April is not a Bank Holiday.

    Forest Bathing 2020Sunday 24th April,11am - 2pm, Forest Bathing+ in the grounds of Harry Edward's Healing Sanctuary, £35 (+ Paypal fee = £36.75).

Immerse yourself in the healing elements of nature and connect deeply with all your senses. Sham El Nassim 5th AprilMonday 25th Aprilin Egypt, is the ancient festival of Sham El Nassim (literally meaning "smelling of the breeze") which dates back to Pharaonic times (about 2700 BC) although it is celebrated on the Coptic Easter Monday, generally a week after our Easter Monday.

It's not seen as a religious festival as it's a National Holiday for both Egyptian Christians and Muslims.

Traditional activities include painting eggs, picnicking, and eating feseekh (fermented mullet).

Floralia 28th AprilThursday 28th Aprilis the Roman fertility festival of flowers and crops called Floralia, that later developed into celebration of sexuality, and may have influenced the subsequent celebrations for Beltane and May Day.

Bright coloured clothes are worn (if any!), races and shows are performed.

Beltane 30th AprilThursday 30th April, is the Pagan Eve of Beltane; celebrations begin with people dancing around the fire clockwise, singing. Sometimes two fires are set, and cattle are driven between the fires to purify them.

Dew gathered from the grass at dawn is used in potions for luck and indeed it is believed to be lucky to roll naked in the dew!!!  On Beltane, it is traditional to drink from a well before sunrise.

Wash in the morning dew, and adorn yourself with greenery. Watch the sun come up, dance round the Maypole, and otherwise abandon yourself to the season.

Round Full Moon Cakes are eaten and blackberry, elderberry, dandelion wine or cider is drunk. Sacred springs are visited and healing water is drunk. .

Beltane dark moonSaturday 30th April  @ 21:30 UK time (GMT+1) isthe New Moon. It's a Black Moon by the recent definition (2nd New Moon in the same calendar month) and a partial solar eclipse, see timeanddate.com

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy.

There are video instructions on my Facebook Page or You Tube Page.

New Moon is a good time to work on your Vision Board for the rest of 2022.

This marks the end of our April New Moon New Vision Programme.

March CF is hereDuring March, we can look forward to extended daylight and the awakening of nature, especially in the forest. As well as new green buds and sprouts on the trees, we start to see new growth at ground level, with a plethora of camelias, hellabores, daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths and daphne; some with a lovely subtle fragrance. And even where trees have fallen this last week, following three successive violent storms here in the UK, it will be amazing to observe the speed with which new saplings will appear to fill the spaces.

The month of March was named after the Roman God of War, Mars. The Roman Calendar originally strated in March. To the Anglo-Saxons, March was called 'Hrēðmonath', named after a pagan fertility Goddess called 'Hreða' (also known as Rheda).

March begins with the Welsh celebration of St David's Day as well as the Roman Festival of Matronalia. This year it's also Shrove Tuesday. March was a busy month in the Roman calendar, indeed, there’s even a festival for Roman Matrons (older married women) to celebrate by turning the household hierarchy of their day on its head. March is also a month for celebrating women in the modern calendar, with International Women’s Day (8th), Mothering Sunday (27th) and the celebration of numerous goddesses, Egyptian (5th & 20th) and Roman (1st, 15th, 17th & 19th). The Irish celebrate on 17th with St Patrick's Day.

We have North Surrey & London Forest Bathing events scheduled this month on the 16th(Cannon Hill Common, London SW20), 20th (Harry Edwards, Shere, Surrey), 21st(International Day of Forests Tree Connection Workshop, Shere, Surrey)and 31st March (Horsell Common, Woking, Surrey).

For a deep dive into the ‘whys and wherefores’ of the listed festivals and spiritually significant days, I publish a blog post on the day in question. Or to receive the information to your mail inbox, sign-up for Blog update alerts.

The Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Egyptian Alchemy Healing online evening study Introduction programme continues this month with Mindful Chakras starting 10th March and Essene Angelology starting the 16th March. The earlier two modules can still be joined with recordings available for missed sessions.

To assist with therapeutic and abundant alignment with the moon cycle, we have our Full Moon Guided Meditation on Friday 18th March and our next Lunar Cycle Alignment Programme commences with the New Moon on Friday 1st April and runs until Saturday 30th April, more on this next month.

St Davids Day 1st MarchTuesday 1st March is St David’s Day. St. David, Dewi Sant, is the patron saint of the Welsh, and 1st March, his feast day, is celebrated as a patriotic and cultural festival in Wales.

Saint David, Grandson of the King of Ceredigion, was said to have been born on a clifftop during a fierce storm. He died on this day during the year 500. He grew up to be a celebrated Bishop and founder of monastic settlements and churches. Glastonbury Abbey may have been founded by St David.

So why is David associated with a dragon? There is a myth that when David was asked by villagers to slay a dragon, he instead went to visit the dragon and listen to its sad tale.

Matronalia 1st MarchTuesday 1st March is also Matronalia, according to Roman tradition, which was the topsy-turvy feast sacred to Juno, the birth Goddess.

It was also a celebration of marriage, and the peace that these unions could usher in between Romans and Sabini, tribes from the mountain region near the Tibor.

The Roman mistress of the house waited on her servants for the day and presents were given to other people’s partners!

The wives of the house also gave a feast for their female slaves.

Shrove Tuesday 16thTuesday 1st March is Mardi Gras, also known as Shrove Tuesday, or within the UK as Pancake Day. Being the final day before Lent, this was traditionally a day for confessing sins and using up all the foods banned during the Lent fast. With pancakes containing butter and milk, they became associated with the date.

The verb 'shrive' means to gain absolution for one's sins through confession and/or penance. Hence Shrove Tuesday is derived from the tradition that Christians were 'shriven' before Lent.

The date of Lent - which takes place in either February or March but always seven weeks before Easter - varies from year to year according to the lunar calendar which determines when Easter falls.

Interestingly, as with many Christian Festivals, there is a theory that Pancake Day might actually have originated as a Pagan holiday; when eating warm, circular yellow pancakes - resembling the sun - celebrated the arrival of spring. Image by Harmony Healing.

Wednesday 2nd March @ 17:38 is New Moon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy. Image by Harmony Healing.

It is a good day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2022. Harmony Healing proviides a Vision Board template and periodically we offer a lunar cycle mentoring programme.

Ash Wednesday 17thWednesday 2nd Marchis also Ash Wednesday this year, which is generally said to have been named after the tradition of burning away old issues in preparation for Lent.

The date of Lent - which takes place in either February or March but always seven weeks before Easter - varies from year to year according to the lunar calendar which determines when Easter falls.

However, Ash Wednesday could have obtained its name from an apparent tradition of placing a stick of Ash down one's sock for good luck!  Ouch, I can't see that being popular, but then maybe the choice of stick, regarding size and shape, is paramount!

VFoA moduleWednesdays 2nd & 9th March= Harmony Healing Virtual Workshop: Violet Flame of Amenti (Level 1), 7.15pm - 9.30pm (UK time/GMT = UK & America friendly hours), £88. three x 2.25 hour evening course, held remotely on Zoom. Fritter Thursday 18thThursday 3rd March is Fritter ThursdayAccording to The Free DictionaryFritter Thursday took its name from the custom of eating apple fritters, which were fruit-filled cakes deep-fried in fat, on this day.

I was surprised that this would be an acceptable dish once Lent had commenced (as 'fritter' suggests batter which would contains egg and milk) and on further research I discovered that in Lancashire (source: lep.co.uk) traditionally ‘Shrovetide’ meant the three days before Lent and comprosed of ‘Collop Monday’, ‘Pancake Tuesday’ and ‘Fritters Wednesday’ (rather than Thursday) with the fritters being sliced apples fried in batter. Image by Harmony Healing.

Khemitology imoduleThursday 3rd March = Final week of Harmony Healing Virtual Workshop: Introduction to Khemitology, 7.15m - 9.30pm (UK time/GMT = UK & America friendly hours), £88. 3 x 2 hour evening course.

Kissing Friday image optionsFriday 4th March is Kissing FridayAccording to historic.co.uk, this bizarre custom was especially popular in the Victorian and Edwardian period and only died out in the mid-20th century.

Although unthinkable these days, a schoolboy could kiss a girl on this day without fear of repercussions.

Of course, first of all the girl had to be caught and in some instances this involved tying ropes across the street and passing girls would have to pay a kiss for safe passage across the rope.

Others would simply chase the girls until they caught them. Indeed, Kissing Fridaywas also the one day every year when girls could leave school early, to avoid being chased home by the boys.

In the Leicershire village of Sileby, this day was called Nippy Hug Day. Here, if the girl actively resisted a kiss, the boy could 'louse' (pinch) her bottom, a disturbing reference to the action of pinching off lice. Image by Antonia Skelton.

    5th March Ploiaphesia framed

Saturday 5th March is Ploiaphesia, Egyptian Festival of Navigation. This was when one of the most important festivals of the Egyptian Goddess Isis was celebrated, the Ploiaphesia or Navigium Isidis (Ship of Isis).

The festival marked the opening of the safe sailing season after the stormy weather of winter had passed. A statue of Isis was carried in procession from her temple down to the harbour, where a specially-built ship was moored. The ship would then be loaded with offerings and dedicated to the Goddess, before being launched and carried out to sea by the wind.

The festival is described by Apuleius in his Metamorphoses (also known as the Golden Ass). To participate you can enjoy the energy of water and celebrate with processions, lights, mirrors, music and flowers. We have informative Egyptian Deity Posters available for sale from the Harmony Shop

In Ancient Rome, 15th March was also the celebration ofAnna Perenna.

St Patricks Day used 2021Thursday 17th March is St Patrick’s Day in Ireland. St Patrick is credited with converting the Irish back to Christianity which had been abandoned under Roman rule.

Saint Patrick is said to have used the Shamrock (three leaved clover) as a metaphor for the Christian Trinity.

The name shamrock comes from the Irish word seamróg, which is derived from the Irish word for clover (seamair) and means simply "little clover" or "young clover".

Liberalia 17 MarchThursday 17th March was the Roman Festival of Liberalia, this was the feast to celebrate the male coming of age!

In view of the date coinciding with St Patrick's Day, having abandoned Christianity under Roman rule, I wonder if there is a connection that when Eire re-converted to Christianity they chose the Roman Festival for males coming of age as their date of celebration...

rebirthing and the Spring Equinox. I can't help wondering if it was a development from the Egyptian Pelusia Festival, see 20th March entry.

Saturday 19th Marchis the Roman Festival of Quinquatrus,so named because it was the 5th day after the Ides of March. Quinquatrus 19th March

This was a Festival in honour of Minerva; it seems that women were accustomed to consult fortune-tellers and diviners upon this day.

At one time, celebrations took place 19th - 23rd of March, orginally an Etruscan festival to celebrate spring, rites of women, rebirthing and the Spring Equinox. I can't help wondering if it was a development from the Egyptian Pelusia Festival, see 20th March entry.

International Day of ForestsMonday 21st March is International Day of Forests, sponsored by the United Nations. The theme for 2022 is Forests and Sustainable Production and Consumption.

Forests are home to more that 60,000 tree species; comprising about 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity.

In fact, 1.6 billion people are directly dependent on forests for their shelter, food, medicines, income and energy.  Alarmingfly, we are losing around 10 million hectares of global forest annually (the size of Iceland) and this is said to accountsfor 12-20% of greenhouse gas emissions thought to contribute to our climate change.

As a qualified Forest Bathing+ guide, I am delighted to see Forests being recognised for their wellbeing benefits and valuable biodiversity and efforts being made to protect dwindling international woodlands.

Celebrate International Day of Forests with Harmony in Nature at Harry Edwards (Shere, Surrey).

Join us for the day in the Bluebell Room and outdoors to strengthen your connection with trees, particularly those native to the UK.  Spend 2-3 hours Forest Bathing with us in the lovely private grounds (connecting with nature using mindful sensory activities), find out more about our most popular trees and learn how you can bring wellbeing into your life through a selection of tree essences, teas and essential oils.  Discover about nature's WoodWideWeb and learn how to connect with it on a daily basis. Meditate with a tree through the seasons.

Last weekend in MarchSaturday 26th March, in the UK this year, is also when the clocks go forward, in fact at 01.00 on Sunday 27th March, and that is the start of British Summer Time, although we often have a while to wait until summer arrives in the UK.

Mothers Day 14thSunday 27th March is Mothering Sunday in  the UK, now viewed as a chance to recognise the positive role of mothers in our lives.

Often posies of daffodils are presented.

Mothering Sunday is celebrated by Christians  in the UK & Ireland and some other English speaking countries. It takes place on the fourth Sunday in Lent, which is exactly three weeks before Easter Day.

It was once observed as a day when people visited their mother church, but has become a day for honouring mothers and exchanging presents with them. Increasingly it's being referred to as Mother's Day, although that name originated as an American secular holiday, celebrated on a different date and quite distinct from the initial UK based Mothering Sunday.

Lunar Cycle imageTuesday 29th March, 7-8.30pm, Joanna's talk about the Moon cycle for ConsciousCafe. Tickets start at cost £5.98.

Moonwise Calendar 2022Celestial Forecast is compiled by Joanna Bristow-Watkins of Harmony Healing, the original is published at Joanna's Monthly Celestial Forecasts. It is created using many sources but notably the Moonwise Calendar and Lia Leendertz's annual Almanac. Whilst considerable effort is made to ensure accuracy, this is not an exact science and sources are sometimes contradictory!

These monthly Celestial Forecasts (CF) are generally uploaded to the Harmony Healing website 2-3 months ahead and can be accessed via the drop-down box on the right. They are sent out to the main mailing list and CF subscribers a few days before the month starts.

Extracts from the Celestial Forecast are reproduced in Glyden Magick, an online magazine offered via Gylden Fellowship which is a fabulous resource for Neo-Pagans (particularly in the South of England when physical meet-ups can resume).

To subscribe to the detailed Blog updates (headed with a title detailing the occasion/event so you can choose whether to open it or not), featuring New and Full Moon, meteor showers, eclipses and other meteorological events, interesting anniversaries, ancient festival dates plus notification of dates of numerological significance, sign up here. The nature of the Blog means that whenever there are several key dates in close succession, there will be frequent mailings.

If you would rather ONLY receive the monthly Celestial Forecast, select the appropriate subscription. You will receive occasional newsletters but this opts you out of the smart Blog which emails regular notifications as events occur.

Through Harmony Healing, Joanna utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians, in the form of Reyad Sekh Em® (RSE) Level 1 Egyptian Alchemy Healing. Featuring four online modules of Khemitology (Ancient Egyptology according to the indigenous oral traditions), Violet Flame of Amenti, Mindful Chakra Balancing & Essene AngelologyMissed sessions are fully recorded so that late registrations or are possible. Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 costs £266 and run about three times a year. the individual modules are stand-alone and cost either £88 or £66, hence the RSE 1 package offers a cost saving.

These are interspersed by her one month Lunar Cycle Alignment Programmes. She is also an intuitive healer offering 1-2-1 distant healings and readings, plus MP3 recordings. She is a fully qualified Fotrest Bathing guide, offering Forest Bathing sessions in the Surrey Hills of England. Joanna acts as the retailer for her sister, Angela Mcgerr's, best selling angelogy books and angel card sets. The are mostly now out-of-print, but Joanna still has some unused copies as well as pre-used versions of many of the card sets, see the Harnony Shop for the full details.

May CF is readyMay is a month when our Pagan heritage breaks through into parochial folklore. May Day, also known as Beltane, is a Pagan Festival still celebrated in parishes across the country featuring elaborate traditions involving May Poles, floral-dressed girls bedecked with flower garlands, Morris Dancers, Green Man imagery, hobby horses etc. We usher in the promise of sunshine and summer as we welcome green shoots and abundant blossom everywhere, not least the Mayflower (Hawthorn) associated with the old adage, ne'er cast a clout till May be out (which I always assumed meant the month itself)...

The month could be named after Maia, a Greek Goddess linked with the land, fertility and growth. To the Anglo-Saxons, it was called Thrimilci, the month when cows could be milked three times a day due to constant grazing on abundant new grass.

During May, as well as our own traditional British Festivals plus Mental Health Awareness Week (9th-16th) and we can look forward to Roman and Egyptian celebrations as well as a lunar eclipse. On the 16th we have a Flower Blood Full Moon with total lunar eclipse which is not visible in the UK or most of Europe - but we will still be affected energetically. Eclipses always bring the unseen into focus. Our Full Moon Online Guided Meditation is 7.30-9.30pm UK time on Monday 16th May.

We have Surrey Forest Bathing events with Bluebells at Harry Edwards on Sunday 15th (full day event themed on Nature Angels) & Sunday 22nd, as well as London Forest Bathing in SW20 on Monday 9th (during Mental Health Awareness week). Our inaugural 6-week Forest Bathing Series for the local branch of the mental health charity Mind starts 11th May. And my Violet Flame of Amenti virtual study course is starting again on the 12th May.

May Day BeltaneSunday 1st Mayis May Day and Beltane - a Celtic word meaning 'fires of Bel' (Bel was a Celtic deity). It is a fire festival that celebrates the coming of summer and the fertility of the coming year. Celtic festivals often tied in with the needs of the community. In springtime, at the beginning of the farming calendar, everybody would be hoping for a fruitful year for their fields and hence also their families. Beltane rituals would often include courting: for example, young men and women collecting blossoms in the woods and lighting fires in the evening. These rituals would often lead to matches and marriages, either immediately or in the coming summer or autumn.

Bona Dea 1st MaySunday 1st Maywas also the annual Roman Festival of Bona Dea. In Roman mythology, Bona Dea (literally "the good goddess") was the goddess of fertility, healing, virginity, and women. She was the daughter of the god Faunus and was associated with supplying medicinal healing herbs in her temple garden. Bona Dea was traditionally invoked for freedom from slavery; many of her worshippers were freed slaves and plebeians, and several were women seeking aid in sickness or for fertility. This Festival was celebrated by women only!

Image by Marti Dean who also designed Jack's face for the 2022 Hastings FestivalMonday 2nd May, is early May Bank Holiday in the UK (the first Monday after 1st May), with many towns and villages offering May Day celebrations.

Jack in the Green Festival is held in Hastings, with four days of festivities around the May Day weekend. Since its revival in the 1980s the festival has become synonymous with the town of Hastings and is now one of its largest events.

Over the long weekend there is morris dancing around the town, a traditional ceilidh and a sunrise ceremony to welcome in the dawn of summer on Sunday 1 May. Bank holiday Monday is the highlight as the town turns green. A grand procession leads the giant foliage-covered Jack through the Old Town and up to the West Hill, where he is eventually 'slain' and the spirit of summer is released! Image by Marti Dean, who also designed Jack's face for this 2022 festival programmes.

Hastings Jack in the Green is a hugely popular event so local roads and the A21 can get congested and car parking around the town is limited.

Veneration of the ThornWednesday 4th May, is the festival of the Veneration of the Thorn at which the Hawthorn is honoured.

This is a festival of modern origin that may have been adapted from the night of Lunantisidhe on 16th May, honouring the fairy spirits of Hawthorns.

Holy bushes and trees marking sacred places and wells are acknowledged and new scraps of cloth are tied to their branches.

Alec Bristow the Great EscapeWednesday 4th May, 3-4.15pm, Joanna's talk entitled 'The Great Escape; the Real Story' at the Guildford Institute, Ward Street, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4LH. Cost £5. Most places are reserved for members.

Joanna will tell the personal story of her father who grew up in Guildford before becoming a WWII Mosquito pilot and a prisoner-of-war in Stalag Luft III where the famous ‘Great Escape’ took place in March 1944.

Joanna first saw The Great Escape film as a young child and has assembled extensive research, her father’s anecdotes and his wartime diary to give a fascinating insight into what it was really like for an RAF officer in the camp. Including: How ambitious were the preparations and plans? What actually took place on 24 March 1944 and what were the after-effects of this bold affront to the Nazi regime?

The one hour talk will cover: details of what actually happened on the night of the Great Escape (made famous by the 1963 Hollywood Blockbuster), as well as how he survived the war, his lucky escape, and how he came to run five travel agencies in North West Surrey.

You can book online viaGuildford Institute (event ref T278) or by phone on 01483 562142.

9th May LemuriaMonday 9th Mayis the Roman Festival of Lemuria.

This involved a ritual by the Master (or Mistress) of the House with nine black beans(!) to honour the Lemures – spirits of those who died unnatural or violent deaths.

I wondered if it was connected to the ancient land of Lemuria, believed to have been situated in the Pacific area near Hawaii, and a possible belief by the Romans that the land may have been destroyed violently (legend says that, like Atlantis, a disaster such as volcanic eruption or flood caused its destruction).

Mental health awareness week 2022Monday 9th - Sunday 15th May is Mental Health Awareness Week here in the UK, and the theme this year is loneliness which affects millions of people across the UK.

Sadly, the series of lockdowns since 2020, won't have helped mental health at all, with loneliness and isolation a known cause of depression already.

On the plus side, this last two years have put health and wellbeing in the public eye more than ever.

The colour violet has an established association with spirituality. Having the highest frequency in the visible spectrum, violet is at the point of transition to the next octave of light. During the pre-Dynastic period of Khem (Ancient Egypt), the Violet Flame of Amenti was ruled by the Deities Ausar (also known as Wzr or Osirus), brandished by Sekhmet, and made freely available to Akhenaton.

Both in Atlantis, and subsequently during the Essene era (which spanned the lifetimes of Mother Mary, Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene), this powerful tool was retained under the Guardianship of Angels Melchisadec and Ariel.

This course features instructions on the ancient alchemical properties of the Violet Flame and how to use it in your daily life. See Violet Flame of Amenti page for further details and to book.

In May 1660, Oak Apple Day or Royal Oak Day was a declared as a formal public holiday, to be celebrated in England on 29th May to commemorate the restoration of the English Monarchy.

Although it was formally abolished in 1869, until national lockdown, the day was still celebrated in some parts of the country and is alternatively known as Shick Shack Day. Oak and Nettle Day, Yak Bob Day or Arbour tree Day.

Celestial Forecast is compiled by Joanna Bristow-Watkins of Harmony Healing, the original is published at Joanna's Monthly Celestial Forecasts. It is created using many sources but notably the Moonwise Calendar and Lia Leendertz's 2022 Almanac.

  • Equinox Alder Super Full Moon, Thursday 21st March 2019

Moon Scarletts shotThursday 21st March @ 01.43 (Wednesday day night/Thursday morning) is Equinox Alder Full Moon.  It's also the third and final of three consecutive Supermoons.

A Supermoon is when the moon appears larger in the sky because it is reaches the closest proximity to Earth (known as the perigee*) coinciding with the New Moon or Full Moon. Since the New Moon is only a sliver to the naked eye, the Full Moon Supermoons are much more of a visual treat, when the moon may appear up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than on any other Full Moon occasion. Although it may not seem all that noticeable to us and of course it will depend on good clear viewing conditions; however due to an optical illusion, it will always look bigger and more luminous when closer to the horizon.

*The moon orbits around the Earth in an ellipse which takes just over 29 days, meaning that it reaches points in the year when it is at its closest (perigee, when it is about 363,000 km away) and furthest (apogee, when it is about 405,500 KM) from our planet. Those old enough might be reminded of Bed Knobs and Broomsticks when Angela Lansbury mentions the perigee and  apogee in one of her invocations!

On 14th November 2016, the moon reached its closest to the Earth since 26th January 1948 and it won't come closer to us until 25th November 2034! More at Earthsky Website.

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, this is the Alder Moon.  At this time of year the Alder is prominent and flourishing on the river banks, with its roots dipping in the water, offering itself up as a magical bridge between heaven and earth. Known as Fearn (pronounced Faerin) it is associated with Faerie Magic; an ideal time for spiritual decision-making relating to divination and prophesy, as well as for honing our intuitive skills. Alder twigs and flowers are well known charms in Faerie Lore, with Alder shoots being used to make whistles and flutes to commune with the air elementals. More about this at thoughtco.com. Being very close to the Equinox, the Alder Moon will carry the frequency of balance and harmony embodied by the Equinox when light and dark are in perfect balance.  Interestingly, this is also the remit of Cassiel, who is the Angelic Guardian of Saturday, and as this Full Moon falls on a Saturday we can expect this to boost the harmonising effect.

The time between any Full Moon and the next New Moon is a good time, energetically, to detox the body. I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

Today is also a 3:3:3 numerologically.  See the Awaken Your Avatar Blog entry beneath.

  • Equinox Easter Alder Blue Full Moon, Saturday 31st March 2018

IMG 8443 archway with supermoon 1st jan 2018Saturday 31st March @ 13.37 is Equinox Easter Full Moon. It's also the Alder Moon.

Being the 2nd Full Moon in the calendar month of March, by the newer definitions it is a Blue Moon.

By the same definition there was another Blue Moon two months ago when we had Full Moons on the 2nd (image showing Full Moon over Kew Gardens is on the right) and 31st January. A Synodic Month (the time between two Full Moons) is 29.53 days on average, so it's more usual to have one per month, but if the month is long and there is a full moon at the very beginning (as happened this January and March) then we get two. The next Blue Moon by this definition will be in 2020!  It's rare to get two Blue Moons in the same calendar year; it last happened in 1999 and will next happen in 2037!

February did not have a Full Moon at all, making it a Black Moon month, although confusingly this can also refer to the 2nd New Moon in a calendar month or a month with no New Moon!  February is the only month when this can happen, especially in years when it only has 28 days.

The old definition of a Blue Moon was when there were four Full Moons, rather than the usual three, in an Astronomical Seasons. Spring begins on the spring equinox; Summer begins on the summer solstice; Autumn (Fall) begins on the autumn equinox; and Winter begins on the winter solstice. Known as the four Albans, these are four of the important eight festivals of the Pagan/Celtic/Gaelic Calendar. This moon does not constitute a Blue Moon by that definition.

Because Blue Moons (by either definition) are unusual - the last one before the 31st January this year was 31st July 2015 - the expression 'once in a blue moon' has come to mean something happening on rare occasions.  The moon can in fact appear blue in colour too, when the atmosphere is filled with smoke or dust particles of wider than 0.7 micron, which sometimes happens after a forest fire, volcanic eruption (such as Krakatoa, Indonesia in 1883) or dust storms.

Alder twigs and flowers are well known charms in Faerie Lore, with Alder shoots being used to make whistles and flutes to commune with the air elementals. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website I happily stumbled upon.

As it's Easter this weekend too, this moon will carry the energy of the Pagan Deity Eostre (the ancient Pagan ceremony upon which I believe the Easter celebration was superimposed, see my post for Easter Sunday for more); representing fertility and associated with the Pagan Hare, another ancient symbol of fertility and with a 28 day gestation period very linked to the lunar cycle. In Ancient Egypt the hare is a hieroglyph meaning ‘existence’.

The time between any Full Moon and the next New Moon is a good time, energetically, to detox the body.  In view of this being a Super Blue Blood Imbolc Moon, I would say it's an even better time than usual for a detox.  I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

See my Facebook Live on Saturday 31st March is the Equinox Easter Alder Blue Full Moon (featuring the energies of this particular Full Moon event plus instructions on Oil Pulling and Angela McGerr's Angelic Meditation with Gabriel). Plus, if you're interested, 'Has Easter been superimposed onto an earlier Pagan celebration Eostre?'

  • Equinox Full Vine Moon, Tuesday 25th September 2018

Tuesday 25th September @ 03.54 is Pagan Equinox Full Vine Moon (Monday night/Tuesday Morning).

The Full Moon is a powerful and appropriate time to show gratitude for life and the riches and bounty bestowed upon us by Mother Earth (Gaia).

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, and associated each with a tree; this is the Vine Moon(thoughtco.com). All over the northern hemisphere, at this time of year, the fruits of vine are ripe for harvesting and ready for the first stages of wine production. The vine is a symbol of passionate emotions whether expressing either joy or wrath. The Celts called the month Muin (Neopagans call it Mabon) and typical celebrations would include magical workings connecting with gardens involving both ends of the emotional spectrum (such as exhilaration and rage) acknowledging also the darker aspects of the Mother Goddess. Vine leaves can be used to enhance goals and ambitions. This year, being very close to the Equinox, the Vine Moon will carry the frequency of balance and harmony embodied by the Equinox when light and dark are in perfect balance.

Other names for a Full Moon in September are: Fruit Moon, Harvest Moon (Northern Hemisphere) or Worm Moon, Sugar Moon, Chaste Moon, (Southern Hemisphere). Names for the moon can also relate to the season, so this Equinox Moon could also be called the Harvest Moon, or Hunter’s Moon, Frosty Moon, Beaver Moon (after the autumnal equinox)or Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Planting Moon, or Milk Moon, Rose Moon, Flower Moon, or Strawberry Moon (after the spring equinox). Source = earthsky.org.

The time between any Full Moon and the next New Moon is a good time, energetically, to detox the body.  In view of this being an Equinox Full Moon (where the focus is on balance), I would say it's an even better time than usual for a detox.  I recommend anoil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

  • Friday 19th April, Willow Full Moon

    Moon Scarletts shot

Friday 19th April @ 12.12 is the Easter Willow Full Moon.

Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

If you are an angel fan, the angel of the Moon is Gabriel. See link for instructions on Angela's Angelic Meditation with Gabriel.

The Full Moon is a powerful and appropriate time to show gratitude for life and the riches and bounty bestowed upon us by Mother Earth (Gaia).

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, this is the Willow Moon.  At this time of year, Europeans can expect the best conditions for healthy growth of the Willow, namely lots of rain!  Known as Saille (pronounced Sahl-yeh) it is associated with healing and growth. Willows planted close to your home are reputed to provide protection from flooding, storms and other natural disasters, even warding away other dangers. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website I happily stumbled upon.  This may be why they are often planted in cemeteries. Willow month is the time to work on healing rituals, building esoteric knowledge, studying women's mysteries and nurturing yourself and others.   Also see thoughtco.com.

  • Friday 27th February is Full Moon Healing Circle, Full Moon @ 08.17 Saturday 28th February

February Healing CircleFriday 26th Februaryis our monthly Full Moon virtual healing circleat 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT).

This month it costs £10 (+ £1 Paypal fee). From next month, the cost will change.

During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness.

This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme.

Saturday 28th February @ 08.17 is Snow Full Moon.

Gabriel in corp coloursImage of Angel Gabriel (right) by Richard Rockwood, is taken from Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel cards; signed copies are available from the Harmony ShopClick here for Angela McGerr's Full Moon Meditation with Gabriel.

The Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons, called the February Full Moon the Snow Moon. There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. The Snow Moon is apparently named because historically it's been the snowiest month in America. Other tribes knew it as the Hunger Moonbecause it isn't conducive to hunting. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

It was thought the Celts also had names for each Full Moon of the year, however it seems this is a Neo Pagan belief first proposed by Robert Graves in his book The White Goddess published in 1948. In it, Graves reinvented the genuine early-medieval Irish ogham alphabet, purported to be based on trees, and created a Celtic Tree Calendar, naming 13 months after trees. Although it isn't an ancient tradition, being a tree lover myself and interested in Celtic words, I find it rather charming.

So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings, this is the Ash Moon (learnreligions.com). The Druids, venerated all nature but the three most sacred trees to them was the Ash, Oak and Thorn. The Ash tree features a great deal in Irish and Scottish folklore (the latter also including the Rowan, a form of Mountain Ash).  In the 12th Century, Marie de France wrote one of her famous lais about the Ash. The Ash is associated with rituals, magic and prophesy, making it a perfect choice for divining. Indeed, traditionally, more tools were made from Ash than any other wood, because it's not only very strong but it also resists shock (better than other hard woods such as oak or beech) making it an ideal choice for tool handles.  Ash berries were placed inside a baby's cradle to prevent the child being replaced with a 'changeling'. One of Odin's names in Norse is Ygg, which also means Ash, with the World tree, Yggdrasil, being an Ash.  Odin's spear was made from this tree.

Whilst writing a previous Blog article I wondered if our word 'ash' for something burnt was derived from the possible act of burning the magical tools (made predominantly of Ash) in an attempt to destroy the power of the Celtic Priests.

Between Full Moon and the next New Moon (Saturday 13th March) is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

Anyway, whatever the weather conditions, it's a fantastic excuse to get people of all ages outside in the fresh air and re-connecting with nature. Something our modern lifestyles and obsession with technology can distract us from doing...

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

If you would like to experience one of our spiritual offerings (meditation, reading, 1:1 healing, a Forest Bathing+ session or a full mentoring course), why not ask for a Harmony Healing gift voucherfor a birthday or other celebratory occasion?

A number of virtual courses are now ready, details on Harmony Healing Virtual Events. Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

Joanna offers distant intuitive readings (past life and/or aura readings) and distant 1-2-1 healings and virtual healing circles. We also have meditations available.

To receive regular Blog updates (headed with a title detailing the occasion or event so that you can choose whether to open it or not), featuring New and Full Moon, meteor showers, eclipses and other meteorological events, interesting anniversaries, ancient festival dates plus notification of dates of numerological significance, sign up for the Harmony Healing e-newsletters above or at the top of any page of this Harmony Healing website. • Friday 5th June, Hawthorn Full Moon & Penumbral Eclipse (& Angelic Meditation)

Moon Scarletts shotFriday 5th June @ 20.12 UK time(GMT/UT+1; click here to convert to your time zone) is the Hawthorn Full Moon. It's also a Penumbral Lunar eclipse. The eclipse will be at least partially visible in Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa. It will be visible in London between 21.01 and 22.04, with maximum effect at 21.06 when the entire moon is above the horizon, at this point it might even turn a darker shade.  However, penumbral eclipses are not always easy to discern at all.

This is the first of a series of three eclipses, with an annular solar eclipse 21st June and another penumbral lunar eclipse on 5th July. More details at timeanddate.com.

Even if we can't see much (or anything at all from some parts of the globe) there will still be an effect energetically. Tonight, Friday 5th June, we are holding the next Virtual Harmony Healing Circle, 7.30-9.30pm £11 (half price to VFoA & RSE graduates).

This eclipse falls in the 16th degree of Sagittarius.  Eclipses are said to warn us that things may not be as they seem. Reflection on alternative meanings could be advisable. Childhood issues may come up for clearing and we could be feeling vulnerable a few days either side, especially as our political environment could be making folks feel vulnerable anyway.  Astrologer Lisa Mendes says:

"Over the next 18 months or so, expect the spotlight to move from family dynamics and childhood traumas and wounds, to fall on how we make decisions and/or moral calls (faith vs reason) and discern fact from fiction when it comes to navigating the Information Age. Do we truly think logically when we make important political decisions, for example, or do we default  to deeply-held belief systems or become overly reliant on commonly-held assumptions? Elon Musk is quoted as saying that one way we can very quickly unplug from the matrix and start thinking independently is to question all assumptions and go back to first principles - not a bad idea, especially in an era where psychological manipulation and cyber warfare by stealth is mostly how elections are won."

See Lisa's astrologysphere.com website for more. For those interested in the impact of eclipses on their personal zodiac, Lisa offers complementary video 'eclipse-scopes' to her subscribers, you can sign up at her astrology sphere online shop.

The Moon shines due to its surface reflecting the Sun's rays. A lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon thereby blocking some or all of the Sun's light from reaching to the Moon. A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when there is an imperfect alignment between the Sun, Earth, and the Moon; causing the Earth to block some of the Sun's light from reaching the Moon's surface. This covers all (or part of) the Moon with the outer edge of its shadow, which is also known as the penumbra. The penumbra is considerably fainter than the dark core of the Earth's shadow; hence a penumbral eclipse of the Moon is often difficult to distinguish from a normal Full Moon. See timeanddate.com for a detailed explanation.

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, this is the Hawthorn Moon following soon after Beltane. Known as Huath (pronounced Hoh-uh), the plant is prickly with pretty blossoms and is associated masculine energy, fire and fertility; tradition dictating that male potency is high at this time of year.  Hawthorn can be used for magic rituals involving masculine power (it has a raw phallic energy about it), making professional connections and business decisions. The faerie realm are said ti like it, with the fae being particularly attracted when Hawthorns grow together with Ash and Oak. See thoughtco.com.

Other names for a northern hemisphere Full Moon in June are: Strawberry Moon, Lotus Moon, Oak Moon, Cold Moon, Honey Moon, Mead Moon, Full Rose Moon or Long Night’s Moon.

The Strawberry Moon, was so named by the Algonquin tribe because it heralded the perfect time to pick wild strawberries. Indigenous tribes - such as the Native Americans - were much more aligned with lunar cycles (rather than our 'solar' calendar) and used labels to identify each moon with events in nature which coincided. See article in The Telegraph for more on this.

If you are an angel fan, the angel of the Moon is Gabriel. See link for instructions on Angela's Angelic Meditation with Gabriel.

To the right is a beautiful image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood from my sister Angel McGerr's A Harmony of Angels book (and Harmony Angel Cards).

Both are out of print and collectible but we still have a few remaining copies via the Harmony Shop.

The time between any Full Moon and the next New Moon is a good time, energetically, to detox the body. I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the New moon (good for starting new projects) and Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

Harmony Healing activities are aimed at bringing harmony and wellbeing into your life. If you are looking for spiritually enlightening activities during lockdown, Joanna offers distant intuitive readings (past life and/or aura readings) and distant 1-2-1 healings and virtual healing circles. We also have meditations available.

A number of virtual courses are now ready and starting this month, details on Harmony Healing Virtual Events. Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

  • Full Moon Angela McGerr Angelic Meditation

Gabriel Image by Richard Rockwood, from A Harmony of Angels by Angela McGerrA Full Moon Meditation with Gabriel by Angela McGerr, from her A Harmony of Angels Book

BECAUSE OF GABRIEL’S MOON INFLUENCE, YOU CAN USE THE TIME/POWER OF FULL MOON IN VARIOUS WAYS

As Ruler of the Moon Gabriel can help you to draw on the true feminine power of the moon, allowing you to develop your intuition as well as understanding and realising your true potential.  Maximum time of benefit is the day of full moon.  Angels are usually thought to be without gender, but Gabriel is considered a feminine energy. You can use one of the following crystals to help in your invocations: moonstone, which is for developing inner wisdom and resources and learning to follow your hunches, or selenite, which is associated with the moon.  You could also use a general angelic stone such as milky quartz or angel hair quartz.

    • Invoke Gabriel by name three times, and then ask her to help you focus the powerful energy of the moon to your heart and your mind, to develop your intuition, in Love and Light, Love and Light, Love and Light.
    • Ask Gabriel to completely surround you with protective pure white light during this meditation.  In your mind see the radiance all around you.
    • Imagine roots growing from your feet into the floor, anchoring and grounding.
    • Take some slow, deep breaths in and out and focus on your inner self
    • Feel yourself relaxing and going deeper.  Let external sounds become part of the background, and maintain your focus within heart.
    • Visualise the meridian line within your body, extending downwards.  It reaches from the crown on top of your head, through the major chakras - your brow, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral and finishes at the base of your spine, base/root chakra of your being.
    • Visualise the moon and imagine her pure light.  Draw this silver radiance down into your crown, which is your spiritual connection to the cosmos.
    • Next feel the energy filling your brow, reaching your intuition, subconscious and the world of your dreams.
    • Now it travels down to your throat, which is your power of creative expression.
    • You can also ask for Gabriel’s help to focus the powerful energy of the moon to your heart, to clarify your life purpose.
    • Now imagine the energy flowing further down the meridian line and completely filling the column within your body, travelling down your legs and tingling in your feet.
    • Through your feet send energy to the heart of Mother Earth, and ask for her blessing on your life path and new aspirations.
    • Bring the power of Mother Earth back into your energy meridian.
    • Feel the combined powers of Earth and Moon filling the cells of your body.
    • Ask to understand your own true potential and for the ability to develop into it for your highest good.
    • Feel yourself filled with purpose and a renewed sense of direction.  Enjoy!
    • Open your eyes when ready and stamp your feet if you feel you need to ground your energies.
    • Remember to always thank the angels for their loving assistance.

  • Full Moon, 29th May 2018

Supermoon 2014 08 10 22 04 16Tuesday 29th May @ 15.20 is the Full Moon. This Full Moon in May is also known as the Flower Moon.

The Flower Moon, was so named by the Native American tribes because spring is officially in full swing by May with colourful blooms and flowers abundant over the  countryside. Different tribes label it as the Corn Planting Moon because of its association with crops being sown in time for the harvest and others identify it with its traditional brihtness hence naming it the Bright Moon and siome peole refer to it as the Milk Moon. See article in The Telegraph for more on this.

Similarly, the Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year. This is Huath (pronounced Hoh-uh); the Hawthorn Moon. The Hawthorn carries much raw masculine energy, carrying phallic qualities, and fire heralding a month of high male potency (following soon after Beltane) and hence fertility. The Hawthorn is also associated with the Fae (Faerie realm)and often grows near Ash and Oak trees, all of which attract the Fae.  Hawthornis used for magic drawing on masculine power which is good for making professional connections and business decisions. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website, which I stumbled across earlier this year.

  • Full Rowan Supermoon & lunar eclipse, Monday 21st January @ 05.12

    Gabriel Harmony Angel Card

Monday 21st January @ 05.12 (Sunday night/Monday morning) is the Full Moon and this is the first of three consecutive Supermoons. This month there's also a total lunar eclipse which can be seen from the UK/Europe, South & North America,Greenland, Iceland, western & northern Africa plus the Arctic area. If you are able to witness this total eclipse of the moon, it's worth making the effort because there won't be another one until 26th May 2021. Central and eastern Africa, Europe and Asia will see a partial eclipse. Full Moons at the time of eclipse are often called Blood Moons because the shadow of the earth over the moon makes it appear red. See timeanddate.com. The total eclipse takes place between 04.41 and 05.43 GMT. To convert GMT (Universal Time) to your local time

This lunar eclipse follows a solar eclipse we experienced onSunday 6th January, and the period between the two has been a time for reflection and decluttering in all aspects of life.

Anyway, whatever the weather conditions, it's a fantastic excuse to get people of all ages outside in the fresh air and re-connecting with nature. Something our modern lifestyles and obsession with technology can distract us from doing...

Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

If you are an angel fan, the angel of the Moon is Gabriel. Above left is a beautiful image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood from my sister Angel McGerr's A Harmony of Angels book (and Harmony Angel Cards). Both are out of print and collectible but we still have a few remaining copies via the Harmony Shop. See link for instructions on Angela's Angelic Meditation with Gabriel.

The Full Moon is a powerful and appropriate time to show gratitude for life and the riches and bounty bestowed upon us by Mother Earth (Gaia).

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, and associated each with a tree; this is the Rowan Moon(thoughtco.com). The Rowan Moon is connected with the Celtic Goddess of home and hearth, mothers and families - Brighid, celebrated on Imbolc (1st February). Brighid (also kown as Bridie or Brigit) is a fire Goddess The Rowan is linked with personal power, success and astral travel and this was a popular time for Celts to perfiorm initiations. The Celts called this month Luis (pronounced loush) and its associated with protection Rowan leaves were used by the Norsemen on their protective rune staves). In some cultures, Rowan is planted around graveyards to prevent the dead from lingering.

Other names for a Full Moon in January are: Old Moon, Moon After Yule (Northern Hemisphere) or Hay Moon, Buck Moon, Thunder Moon, Mead Moon (Southern Hemisphere). Names for the moon can also relate to the season, so this Full Moon could also be called the Old Moon, Moon after Yule, Snow Moon, Hunger Moon, Wolf Moon, Sap Moon, Crow Moon or Lenten Moon (after the Winter Solstice)or Thunder Moon, Hay Moon, Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, Fruit Moon or Harvest Moon (after the Summer Solstice).

  • Full Strawberry Moon, 28th June 2018

Thursday 28th June @ 05.54 (Wednesday night/Thursday morning, Solstice Full Moon). It's also known as the Strawberry MoonLotus Moon , Oak Moon, Cold Moon, Honey Moon, Mead Moon, Full Rose Moon or Long Night’s Moon.Supermoon 2014 08 10 22 04 16

Similarly, the Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year. This is the Oak Moon, when they are appraching full bloom.  The oak signifies strength and power, typically towering over its fellow trees and was highly sacred to the mightly Druids. The oak is associated with invocations for fertility, strength, power, success and abundance. An acorn is meant to bring luck at interviews or business meetings, whereas catching a falling oak leaf is meant to bring health and wellbeing all year. The Celtscalled this month Duir, sometimes believed to be the stem word for druid and meaning door. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website, which I stumbled across earlier this year.

The Full Moon is a powerful and appropriate time to show gratitude for life and the riches and bounty bestowed upon us by Mother Earth (Gaia).

The Snow Moon, was so named by the Native American tribes who named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons.  here isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Some Native Americans identified it as the Snow Moon to symbolise the heavy snowfall and challenging hunting conditions at this time of year. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

Similarly, the Celts also had names for each Full Moon of the year and associated each with a tree. This is the Ash Moon; one of Odin's names in Norse is Ygg, which also means Ash, with the World tree, Yggdrasil, being an Ash.  Odin's spear was made from this tree. The Celts called this month Nion (pronounced knee-un)The Druids, venerated all nature but the three most sacred trees to them was the Ash, Oak and Thorn. The Ash tree features a great deal in Irish and Scottish folklore (the latter also including the Rowan, a form of Mountain Ash).  In the 12th Century, Marie de France wrote one of her famous lais about the Ash. The Ash is associated with rituals (especially ocean rituals), magic and prophesy, making it a perfect choice for divining, prophetic dreams and spiritual journeying for focussing on the inner self. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness websiteI happily stumbled upon. You will also find information at (thoughtco.com)

Other names for a Full Moon in February are: Snow Moon, Hunger Moon, Wolf Moon (Northern Hemisphere) or Grain Moon, Sturgeon Moon, Red Moon, Wyrt Moon, Corn Moon, Dog Moon or Barley Moon (Southern Hemisphere). Flower Blood Moon

Monday 16th May@ 05:15 (Sunday night/Monday morning) is Flower Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse

Total lunar eclipses are sometimes called a Full Blood Moon Eclipse because of the orange-red glow the moon seems to adopt during the eclipse phase.  We have our monthly Full Moon Guided Healing Meditation tonight, see below for details.

Although the eclipse won't be visible in UK or much of Europe, it will still affect us energetically. It will be visble in South/West Europe, South/West Asia, Africa, Much of North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Antarctica. More at timeanddate.com.

Although the Celts were believed to have revered nature, the idea that they also had tree names for each Full Moon of the year, is neo-Pagan, having been introduced by Robert Graves in the 1948, which I find rather charming. So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings, this is the Hawthorn Moon following soon after Beltane.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives.

Monday 20th July @ 18.33 UK time (GMT/UT+1) is the New Moon. See below for the New Moon abundance ritual.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy.

There are video instructions on my Facebook Page or You Tube Page.

New Moon is a good time to work on your Vision Board (downloadable instructions on this page) for the rest of 2020. Hopefully a move towards a world where we can move freely again and are enjoying a global economic recovery.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the New moon (good for starting new projects) and Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians to bring balance and harmony. A number of virtual courses are now ready and a selection are starting again this month, including Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Egyptian Alchemy Healing Level 1 (which is now fully available as interactive training modules) details on Harmony Healing Virtual Events. Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

If you are looking for spiritually enlightening activities during lockdown, Joanna offers distant intuitive readings (past life and/or aura readings) and distant 1-2-1 healings and virtual healing circles. We also havemeditations available.

The nature of the Blog means that whenever there are several key dates in close succession, there will be frequent mailings. • Monday 20th/Tuesday 21st September, Full Moon Meditation (Equinox Harvest Full Moon @ 00:55 Monday night/Tuesday morning)

21 Sep Harvest Equinix Full MoonTuesday 21st September @ 00:55 (Monday night/Tuesday morning) is the Equinox Harvest Full Moon.

Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body. I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

If you are an angel fan, the angel of the Moon is Gabriel. Click here for Angela McGerr's Full Moon Angelic Meditation with Gabriel from my sister Angel McGerr's A Harmony of Angels book which is long ourt of print and collectible but we still have a few remaining copies via the Harmony Shop.

20 Sep FULL MOON MeditationAs the peak of the Full Moon is Monday night, we are holding our Full Moon on Monday 20th September at 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT +1). Participants all receive a deeply healing experience.

During these monthly sessions, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness.

This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. And, most importantly, it's a step towards making a difference to the global predicament. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (small admin fee added for PayPal) or half price to RSE graduates. Book at the Harmony Shop.

new moon new vision 2Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives.

My next lunar cycle study course is Wednesday 6th October - Thursday 4th November.

The Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. The Full Moon nearest to the Equinox is the Harvest Moon(it can be in September or October). There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Some Native Americans identified this as the Harvest Moon as it heralded the end of the summer season, when the crops were gathered. At this time, the Moon rises early and appears particularly bright, allowing farmers to continue harvesting into the night. See more at timeanddate.com.

Although the Celts, wth their Druid priests, were believed to have revered nature, the idea that they also had tree names for each Full Moon of the year, is neo-Pagan, having been introduced by Robert Graves in the 1948, which I find rather charming. So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings; this is the Vine Moon(thoughtco.com).

  • Monday 30th November, Elder Full Moon, Penumbral Eclipse (& Virtual Meditation)

Moon Scarletts shotMonday 30th November @ 09.32(GMT/UT; click here to convert to your time zone) is the Elder Full Moon and it's also a Penumbral Lunar eclipse.

The eclipse will be at least partially visible in much of Europe, North & South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic, Asia and Australia. It will be visible in London at 07.32 when the eclipse begins but will then disappear below the horizon. However, penumbral eclipses are not always easy to discern at all. See more about the November eclipse on timeanddate.com.

This is the first of two eclipses, with a total solar eclipse on 14th December, visible only from Chile and parts of Argentina. More details at timeanddate.com.

Even if we can't see much (or anything at all from some parts of the globe) there will still be an effect energetically. Tonight, Monday 30th November, we are holding the next Virtual Harmony Healing Circle, 7.30-9.30pm £11 (half price to VFoA & RSE graduates).

According to Astrologer Andrea Dupuis at risingwoman.com, this eclipse falls in the 8th degree of Gemini. Andrea tells us that eclipses are amongst the most vital cosmic events we can experience. They usher in change and signal big endings and new beginnings. Her motto is Expect the Unexpected.Andrea tells us that the partial Full Moon Eclipse in Gemini is the second to last eclipse before the end of 2020. This year we had a total of 7 eclipses, which is very rare. Most years we have 4-5 maximum. This eclipse, being partial, will not affect us as much as a full eclipse (like the December one), but the impact is heightened for those with personal planets in the sign of Gemini or Sagittarius.

UK-based astrologer Lisa Mendes claims that eclipses warn us that things may not be as they seem. Reflection on alternative meanings could be advisable. Childhood issues may come up for clearing and we could be feeling vulnerable a few days either side, especially as our political environment could be making folks feel vulnerable anyway.  Six months ago, back in June, Lisa told us:

London astrologer Tanya Cohen points out that the Jupiter and Pluto conjunctions we've experienced three times this year on 4th April, 29th June, 12th November have all coincided with heightened periods of the spread of COVID worldwide and massive death tolls.  I found her following information really fascinating, albeit alarming.

Tanya tells us that Pluto and Jupiter were conjunct in Aries, during the black death, the deadliest pandemic in human history back in 1347.  In 1771, they met again, this time in Capricorn, when the last big outbreak of the bubonic plague happened in Russia. And, in 1918, they were also conjunct in Cancer during the Spanish flu epidemic as well as in 1981, this time in Libra, at the start of the AIDS pandemic.

According to Tanya, an eclipse, particularly during Scorpio season (we've just moved from Scorpio to Sagittarius), means the veil between the conscious and subconscious will be very thin - whatever’s been repressed is likely to emerge. With the eclipse taking place on the Gemini/Sagittarius axis of knowledge and information, it is time for the truth to come out. If you'd like a chart drawn up by Tanya (I've had one - amazing) get in touch via .

At the time of the Full Moon the Sun and Moon are in opposition. The solar (sun) energy influences our masculine/yang archetypal attributes (our outer world) such as strength, courage, identity, self-esteem, expression, conscious beliefs, and determination together with our logical outlook.

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, and associated each with a tree; this is the Elder Moon(thoughtco.com). The Elder Moon marks a time of passing. The Elder bush damages easily but bursts back into life recovering promptly and so it is representing the coming New Year. The Celts called this month Ruish (pronounced roo-esh) and it's a time for renewal, rejuvenation and creativity, endings and beginnings and therefore still honouring the cycle of life - birth, death and re-birth.  Elder is used in magic lore to connect with the Faerie realms and nature spirits and is reputed to protect against negative entities.

Other names for a Full Moon in December are: Cold Moon, Moon Before Yule, Long Night Moon (Northern Hemisphere) or Strawberry Moon, Honey Moon, Rose Moon (Southern Hemisphere). Names for the moon can also relate to the season, so this Full Moon could also be called the Harvest Moon, Hunter’s Moon, Frosty Moon, Beaver Moon, Moon before Yule or Long Night Moon (after the autumnal equinox)or Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Planting Moon, Milk Moon, Rose Moon, Flower Moon, Strawberry Moon (after the spring equinox). Source = earthsky.org.

Gabriel Harmony Angel CardIf you are an angel fan, the angel of the Moon is Gabriel.
