  • Friday 4th October, Feast of Francis of Assisi

Bartolomeo painting of St Francis of asisi

Friday 4th October is the Feast of Francis of Assisi in the Christian Calendar, so it is appropriate that it is also World Animal Day since St Francis is the Patron Saint of Animals and the Environment. It is a popular date for animals to be blessed.

St Francis, who founded the Catholic Church’s Franciscan order, lived in Italy between approximately 1181 and 1226. He is remembered for his love for animals and nature and his generosity to the poor, as well as well as his willingness to minister to the lepers.

St Francis was cannonised (pronounced a Saint), shortly after his death (in 1228) by Pope Gregory IX. The Pope also laid the foundation stone for the Basilica of St Francis d'Assisi, Italy, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. See timeanddate.com and Wikipedia (where the image to the left was found) for more.

So today's the day for appreciating your pet(s).  Like all energy healing modalities, Violet Flame Healing is a simple and safe technique you can use on your pets. We have Violet Flame of Amenti training on Thursday 15th October. More details below.

Scarlett with LilyThis image shows our @lilytheoneeyedcat (she has her own Insta account since losing one eye) enjoying snuggles with my daughter. I wonder if animals have a Human Appreciation Day?

Traditional and religious festivals like this help communities to feel connected, bringing balance and harmony into people's lives. Pets also bring mutual love and respect into our lives.

Through Harmony Healing, Joanna offers a wider spectrum of events designed to nurture your welbeing. Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives. My next lunar cycle study course is Wednesday 6th October - Thursday 4th November.

Within Surrey, via Harmony In Nature, we facilitate Forest bathing+ sessions to help adults reconnect with nature and reap the therapeutic benefits (see Forest Bathing+ section of this site on the purple navigation bar above for more about this concept and dates of our events).

If you are looking for regular spiritually enlightening activities which help to connect you with the lunar cycle, we have our monthly Full Moon Guided Healing Meditations. The next one is on Wednesday 20th October at 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT +1). Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (small admin fee added for PayPal) or half price to RSE graduates. Book at the Harmony Shop.

During these monthly sessions, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. And, most importantly, it's a step towards making a difference to the global predicament.

  • Monday 6th September, Labor Day in USA and Canada

06 Sep Labor DayMonday 6th September is Labor Day in USA and Canada this year, as it's always the first Monday in September comprising the final day of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend. As it's predominantly an American celebation, I've reluctantly used the American spelling of labour!

A federal holiday in the United States, Labor Day honours and recognises the American labour movement and the contributions of labourers to the achievements of the United States.

The trade union and labour movements grew steadily from the beginning of the 19th Century until trade unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate labourers. Oregon, in 1887, was the first US state to make it an official public holiday. Thirty states in the United States had officially celebrated Labor Day by the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894.

Canada's Labour Day is also celebrated on the first Monday of September. International Workers Day is celebrated in more than 80 countries on 1st May, the ancient European holiday of May Day.

By keeping traditions and celebrating national festivals, as well as starting new initiatives, communities retain a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives.

Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians to bring balance and harmony. If you are interested in Ancient Egypt, my Violet Flame of Amenti interactive evening course runs for three consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning 21st September, £88 including a healing attunement. 75% reduction to anyone who has studied RSE 1 or Violet Flame before.

  • Sunday 4th July, Thank You Day (UK) and American Independence Day

    4th July Thank You Day

Sunday 4th July is Thank You Day in the UK. The last eighteen months has been a testing experience for everyone, yet also a bonding time as families, neighbours and local communities have helped each other through the crisis.

We’ve been reminded that, when the chips are down, all that really matters is that we’ve been here for one another. Before any kind of ‘old normality’ can resume, it’s been suggested that we should acknowledge our gratitude.

The idea started when 13 individuals proposed Sunday 4th July as a Thank You Day in the UK and now the initiative has been backed by celebrities, religious leaders and sports stars, local councils and schools, businesses and communities throughout the UK.

So, in whatever way you choose, why not say a heart-felt thank you to your friends, family, pets, your supportive local community, the NHS and of course nature – which has remained a nurturing and reliable wellbeing resource throughout.

4 July American Independence DaySunday 4th July is American Independence Day; the national day of the United States.

This marks the anniversary of unanimous adoption of the Declaration of Independence, by the Second Continental Congress in 1776

The Declaration announced that the 13 colonies claimed their separation from England, which eventually led to the formation of the United States. They were now free, united and independent and therefore no longer subordinate to King George III, who was Monarch of Britain at the time.

Independence Day is a federal holiday in USA to commemorate the Declaration of Independence of the United States, on 4th July, 1776. The Congress had voted to declare independence on 2nd July, but it was not declared until two days later.

Independence Day is frequently associated with fireworks, family gatherings, baseball games, carnivals, picnics fairs, barbeques, concerts, political speeches, and festivities, as well as various public and private events celebrating the government, history and traditions of the United States.

By keeping traditions and celebrating national festivals, as well as starting new initiatives, communities retain a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives.

Harmony Healing activities are aimed at bringing harmony and wellbeing into your life. If you are interested in Ancient Egypt, Joanna Bristow-Watkins (Harmony Healing) is a Reyad Sekh Em® Egyptian Alchemy Healer and Teaching Mentor. The other two modules have recently completed but can be studied with the next series.

Through Harmony Healing, Joanna offers a wider spectrum of events designed to nurture your wellbeing. If you are looking for regular spiritually enlightening activities, we have our monthly Full Moon Guided Healing Meditations. The next one is on Friday 23rd July, at 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT +1).
