  • 11th/12th August (Thursday night/Friday morning), Sturgeon Full Moon Supermoon plus Buddhist and Hindu Festival

22 August Sturgeon Full MoonFriday 12th August @ 02:36 (Thursday night/Friday morning)is Sturgeon Moon, which is the fourth and final consecutive Supermoon. The monthly Full Moon meditation is the night before, on Thursday 11th at 7.30-9.30pm UK time. Book in at the Harmony Shop. If you would like a video guided meditation, but can't make this time, you can purchase our 'any month' pre-recorded Full Moon meditation at this section of the Harmony Shop.

A Supermoon or Super Full Moon are names used when a Full Moon takes place at a time when the Moon is near its closest approach to Earth. See timeanddate.

A Supermoon is when the moon appears larger in the sky because it is reaches the closest proximity to Earth (known as the perigee*) coinciding with the New Moon or Full Moon. Since the New Moon is only a sliver to the naked eye, the Full Moon Supermoons are much more of a visual treat, when the moon may appear up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than on any other Full Moon occasion. Although it may not seem all that noticeable to us and of course it will depend on good clear viewing conditions; however due to an optical illusion, it will always look bigger and more luminous when closer to the horizon.

*The moon orbits around the Earth in an ellipse which takes just over 29 days, meaning that it reaches points in the year when it is at its closest (perigee, when it is about 363,000 km away) and furthest (apogee, when it is about 405,500 KM) from our planet. Those old enough might be reminded of Bed Knobs and Broomsticks when Angela Lansbury mentions the perigee and apogee in one of her invocations!

Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body. I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

The Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. The Full Moon in August is the Sturgeon Moon. There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Some Native Americans identified this as the Sturgeon Moon as it was the month when the fish were typically abundant in North America.  Although once plentiful, sadly now they are rare enough to be considered endangered. Sturgeons can grow enormous - they can reach over 2 metres long and weigh up to 90 kilos, plus they can have amazingly long lives, the males up to 55 years and the females up to 150 years.  Sturgeons have a strange grey-green colouration, a pointed snout and feature a cat-like pair of tactile whiskers above their mouth and are sometimes referred to as 'living fossils' as they are part of a genus of fish which has existed for over 135 million years! See more at timeanddate.com.

Although the Celts, wth their Druid priests, were believed to have revered nature, the idea that they also had tree names for each Full Moon of the year, is neo-Pagan, having been introduced by Robert Graves in the 1948, which I find rather charming. So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings, this is the Hazel Moon, as it's the season when the hazelnuts appear, and they were associated with protection and wisdom. Druid folklore revered the hazel for its connection with the sacred wells and magical springs which was home to the salmon of knowledge.  This August Full Moon was also known by the Celts as the Coll Moon, which means 'the life force inside you'. It's considered timely to focus on wisdom and knowledge, dream journaling, divination and dowsing. Painters, writers and musicians might find it a good time to re-kindle their intuition after a possible artistic block, try writing a poem or song this month. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website I happily stumbled upon.

Angel Gabriel by Richard RockwoodOther tribes knew this August Full Moon as the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, Barley Moonand Fruit Moon, as it was the month when these various crops were harvested. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives.

22 August Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival12th August is the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival, which is the Buddhist Festival of All Souls or the Festival of Hungry Ghosts, when offerings are made until before the next New Moon (7th September) to spirits who have not yet found rest.

The Hungry Ghost Festival, also known as the Zhongyuan Festival, takes place on the 15th day of the Ghost Month (which starts at a New moon), so it naturally co-incides with a Full Moon.

22 August Hindu Raksha Bandan Festival12th August is also Raksha Bandhan, the Hindu festival honouring the bond between brothers and sisters.

Celebrated on the day of the Full Moon in August, see Wikipedia for more on this.

Brothers take a vow to protect their sisters, whilst sisters pray for a long long life for their brothers, sealed by tying a thread around their right wrist.

By keeping traditions, communities with different belief systems retain a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives.

  • Egyptian New Year & Celtic Lunasa, Tuesday 1st August 2017

shutterstock 114601966 Pagan wheelTuesday 1st August (or 19th July according to other sources) is the Ancient Egyptian New year, traditionally marked the start of the Nile flood, started by the tears of Aset (Isis) over the death of Asar (Osirus).  The exact correlation of the Egyptian New year to the modern calendar is disputed, but I favour the linking with the heliacal rising of Sirius (dawn visibility of Sirius) as this star, known to the Egyptians as Sopdet (pronounced Soppday) was closely associated with Aset.

In the Northern Hemisphere, this is also the Pagan and Celtic Celebration of Lunasa, and the Gaelic Celebration of Lughnasadh. This is the start of the harvest, season of pregnancy, ripening, transformation and peace. This marks the height of the northern summer, when the Earth is most alive.

This year, Joanna is holding her London Angel & Goddess Meet-up at 7.30-9.30pm at the Phoenix Artist Club in London. She will be introducing the Egyptian Deities featured in the Ennead and the concept of Khemitology (Egypytology according to oral tradition elders and wisdom keepers).

See London Angel & Goddess Meet-up for details and to book.

Cost is £15 per person which includes a mini aura reading.

  • Friday 15th September, New Moon @ 02:35 (Thursday night/Friday morning) - time for abundance ritual

7 Sep New MoonFriday 15th September (Thursday night/Frirday morning) @ 02:35 is the New Moon.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy.

There are video instructions on my Facebook Page or You Tube Page.

Any New Moon is a fabulous day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board.

Gardening by the moon has been practised for eons. It's not about planting at night, it's about being in harmony with the natural growth patterns of plants.

The moon progresses through four ‘phases’ or ‘quarters’ , each of which lasts about 7 days. Starting with the New Moon (today), the moon waxes (grows larger) and more visible.

There is a daily increase in light until the Full Moon is visible. After Full Moon, the light wanes (reduces) gradually back until New Moon, completing the lunar cycle. In the same way that the moon influences the rise and fall of the tides, it has gravitational impact on the moisture in plants (sap), the soil and water table. These effects are aligned with the lunar cycle.

For sowing and harvesting, we need to be in harmony with the flow of moisture as it is drawn up the plant into the stem and leaves, fruit and seeds. Or down into the root zone with the gravitational pull of the moon for root vegetables. New Moon is not a good time to plant in your garden.

  • Friday 22nd December is the Pagan Solstice @ 03.27, Winter Solstice in Northern Hemisphere (Summer Solstice in Southern Hemisphere)

21 Dec Wnter SolsticeFriday 22nd December is the Pagan Solstice @ 03.27. It's the Winter Solstice here in the UK - the shortest day of the year with just 7 hours and 49 minutes daylight. The solstice itself is the moment the sun is shining farthest to the south, directly over the Tropic of Capricorn, so the time varies every year, between December 20th and 23rd.

The solstice marks the moment the sun shines at its most southern point and has been celebrated as a major Pagan festival, with rituals of rebirth, for thousands of years. Revellers gather at Stonehenge to watch the sunrise on the shortest day. Then, in the Northern Hemisphere, our days will gradually get longer until the summer solstice on Wednesday 21st June 2023 at 15:57.

Many of the traditions now associated with Christmas had their roots in Pagan Winter Solstice celebrations; including Yule logs, mistletoe and Christmas trees. The Druids - an ancient Celtic order of priests, teachers, diviners and magicians who gleaned knowledge and enlightenment from sacred landscapes and ancient trees such as ‘Tutorial Oaks’ - used evergreen trees, holly and mistletoe to represent everlasting life. Druids would consider the cutting of trees as an offence against nature, but would decorate them with colourful rags tied on the branches.

Celebrating traditional Celtic festivals like the Winter Solstice, helped Pagan communities come together and bring balance and harmony into people's lives.

Aligning ourselves with heavenly bodies, partiucularly the moon cycle, is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives.

For a complete alignment with the Lunar Cyce, we are running aNew Year New Moon New Vision mentoring programme through the first full lunar cycle of 2024, detailed on this YouTube video.

    Attuned and Aligned
This first lunar cycle of the New Year takes in the intention setting of the first New Moon, through Imbolc (1st/2nd Febuary) and culminates on the Chinese New Year on 10th/11th February when we move from the Year of the Rabbit to the Year of the Dragon.

This is intended to be a fun and participative event (though some activities will be recommended rather than compulsory), with members of the group supporting each other throughout the programme. Participants will be joining in from their home location, with at least 3 online virtual group mentoring sessions (totalling over 6 hours) and therefore receiving their attunements by distance, with e-mail and What's App support. See the video to find out more about the programme and see New Year New Moon New Vision on the harmony Website to find out your commitment.

  • Friday 22nd September, Ancient Egyptian Ritual of the Neteru of the Two Lands, Equinox @ 07:49 Saturday 23rd

Friday 22nd September is the Ancient Egyptian Ritual of the Neteru of the Two Lands. This year it's the day before the Equinox. As the exact date of the Equinox moves, they don't always coincide but often do. Co-incidence? I doubt it, the ancients knew a thing or two about the seasons and nature.

Map of Lower Egypt from WikipediaThe Two Lands, comprising of Upper & Lower Egypt, were presided over by the more successful Pharoahs. To the north was Lower Egypt where the Nile fans into the Nile Delta. To the south was Upper Egypt, stretching to Aswan.

The terms Upper and Lower Egypt are derived from the unusual geography of the Nile, which unlike most rivers, flows from south to north. Its origins are in the highlands of East Africa and it ends with the Nile Delta which drains into the Mediterannean Sea.

Double Crown of Egypt image from WikipediaIn Spiritual lore, Upper and Lower Egypt could be said to represent the higher and lower self of the human body, and as such would need to be integrated on an annual basis with the help of the Neteru (Deities or Angelic Beings).

The unification of Upper and Lower Egypt occurred in about 3000 BC, but the pschent - or double crown, see Wikipedia image on the right - worn by the Pharoahs represented the combined regalia of both areas; the hedjet or White Crown for Upper Egypt and the deshret or Red Crown for Lower Egypt, each half representing sovereignty of one of the kingdoms.

Established Ancient Egyptian tradition generally credits Menes (also known as Narmer), as the king who united Upper and Lower Egypt. On the Narmer Palette the king is depicted wearing the Red Crown in one scene and the White crown in another, and thereby showing his rule over both Lands.

By keeping traditions, ancient communities in Egypt retained a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives. Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians to bring balance and harmony.

Solstice image licensed by DreamtimeSaturday 23rd September at 07:49 (Saturday morning) is the Pagan Celebration of the Autumn Equinox, marking the time of harvest festival and fulfilment of summer; since, in the Northern Hemisphere, from now on there will be more dark than light for the rest of the year. An equinox is an astronomical event when the plane of Earth's equator passes the center of the Sun. Equinoxes occur twice a year, around 21 March and 22/3 September.

At this point in the year, the night and day lengths are exactly equal, so it's a time of balance and a good time for introspection, look for what is good and worthwhile to become seeds for next year.

Aligning ourselves with the heavenly bodies is very good for harmony and wellbeing.

  • Friday 29th September, Harvest Full Moon Supermoon @ 10:57

31st August Blue Full Moon Supermoon

Friday 29th September, Harvest Full Moon Supermoon @ 10:57 and the final of four consecutive Supermoons.

Our Full Moon meditation will be held tonight Friday 29th at 7.30-9.30pm UK time. Book at the Harmony Shop.

Although the Celts, wth their Druid priests, were believed to have revered nature, the idea that they also had tree names for each Full Moon of the year, is neo-Pagan, having been introduced by Robert Graves in the 1948, which I find rather charming. So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings; this is the Vine Moon(thoughtco.com). All over the northern hemisphere, at this time of year, the fruits of vine are ripe for harvesting and ready for the first stages of wine production. The vine is a symbol of passionate emotions whether expressing either joy or wrath. The Celts called the month Muin (Neopagans call it Mabon) and typical celebrations would include magical workings connecting with gardens involving both ends of the emotional spectrum (such as exhilaration and rage) acknowledging also the darker aspects of the Mother Goddess. Vine leaves can be used to enhance goals and ambitions. This year, being very close to the Equinox, the Vine Moon will carry the frequency of balance and harmony embodied by the Equinox when light and dark are in perfect balance.

The Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. The Full Moon nearest to the Equinox is the Harvest Moon(it can be in September or October). There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Some Native Americans identified this as the Harvest Moon as it heralded the end of the summer season, when the crops were gathered. At this time, the Moon rises early and appears particularly bright, allowing farmers to continue harvesting into the night. See more at timeanddate.com.

Angel Gabriel by Richard RockwoodOther names for a Full Moon in September are: Fruit Moon, Harvest Moon (Northern Hemisphere) or Worm Moon, Sugar Moon, Chaste Moon, (Southern Hemisphere). Names for the moon can also relate to the season, so this Equinox Moon could also be called the Harvest Moon, or Hunter’s Moon, Frosty Moon, Beaver Moon (after the autumnal equinox)or Grass Moon, Egg Moon, Planting Moon, or Milk Moon, Rose Moon, Flower Moon, or Strawberry Moon (after the spring equinox). Source = earthsky.org.

  • Friday 6th January, Wolf Full Moon & Micromoon @ 23:07 GMT

    Wolf Moon image

Friday 6th January @ 23:07 is Full Moon. It's also a Micromoon. The January Full moon is also known as the Wolf Moon. See below for details of our Full Moon guided meditation at 7.30-9.30pm GMT on tonight.

When a Full Moon (or a New Moon) coincides with the point in the Moon's orbit most distant from Earth (apogee) it called a Micromoon.

Because of the Moon's elliptical orbit around the Earth, one side of the path is closer to the Earth than the other.

The point in the Moon's orbit farthest from Earth is known as apogee, and the point closest to Earth is called perigee. The average distance between the Moon and Earth is 237,700 miles or 382,500 kilometers.

When a Full Moon (or a New Moon) occurs around apogee, it's called a Micromoon, Minimoon or Apogee Moon. It will appear smaller tham a usual Full Moon and up to 14% smaller than a Supermoon when the Full Mooin coincides with the perigee. Since we still have the Quadrantid Meteors in the sky, slightly less light pollution will be helpful for stargazers.

The Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. As mentioned above, they called the January Full Moon the Wolf Moon. There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Why Native American tribes (and Medieval Europeans) are said to have referred to this as a Wolf Moon is thought to be because hungry wolves howled more at this time of year since less food was available. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

Although the Celts, wth their Druid priests, were believed to have revered nature, the idea that they also had tree names for each Full Moon of the year, is neo-Pagan, having been introduced by Robert Graves in the 1948, which I find rather charming. So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings, this is the Birch Moon (learnreligions.com). The Celts called this month Beth (pronounced beh). The Birch Moon is linked with rebirth and regeneration, with growing light following the Winter Solstice here is the Northern Hemisphere. After forest fires (sadly there have been way too many of these internationally), Birch is the first tree to regrow. The birch is also associated with healing, protection and creative magic, especially regarding fertility. To keep sacred writings safe, they would be written on Birch bark. A red ribbon tied around the trunk of a Birch tree is said to ward off negative energy and a Birch twig can be hung over a cradle for psychic protection for a new born.

Lunar Cycle imageBetween Full Moon and the next New Moon (21st January) is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.  Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

Through Harmony Healing, Joanna offers a wider spectrum of events designed to nurture your welbeing. If you are looking for regular spiritually enlightening activities which help to connect you with the lunar cycle, we have our monthly Full Moon Guided Healing Meditations. The next one is tonight, Friday 6th January at 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT). Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (small admin fee added for PayPal) or half price to RSE graduates. There are multi-buy packages for regular attendees. Book at the Harmony Shop.

Learn to Connect with the Moon on a Daily Basis

Start the year with some direction and support from a nurturing group of like-minded individuals. New Year New Moon New Vision is a mentoring programme through the first full lunar cycle of 2023. This includes distant attunements to the Moon (New Moons on 21st January and 20th February plus Full Moon on Sunday 6th February), and including an attunement into Chinese New Year of the Water Rabbit (21st/22nd January) and an elemental ritual Imbolc ceremony. • Halloween, 31st October 2017

Shutterstock Pagan Wheel InageTuesday 31st October  traditionally marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of the Celtic and Pagan New Year. Samhain is Irish-Gaelic for 'the Summer's end', and is pronounced 'sow-in'. Samhain represents the death of the summer sun god, Lugh. This festival celebrates Nature's cycle of death and renewal.  This is traditionally known as Halloween.

Samhain is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals; along with Lughnasadh, Imbolc and Beltane.

In the Northern Hemisphere, Samhain heralds the beginning of Winter when the world starts to darken and the days are getting shorter; the 'dark half' of the year and the demise of the sun's uplifting influence.  The crone, personified as Cailleach - the Queen of the Winter - was reborn on every All Hallows Eve, returning to bring the Winter and protect animals through the coldest months. She turned to stone on Beltane Eve, Beltane being 1st May.

  • Monday 23rd September, Equinox

earth lighting equinox enMonday 23rd September at 08.50 is the Pagan Celebration of the Autumn Equinox, marking the time of harvest festival and fulfilment of summer; since, in the Northern Hemisphere, from now on there will be more dark than light for the rest of the year. In the Southern Hemisphere it's the Spring Equinox, heralding the longer days leading to the Summer Solstice.

An equinox is an astronomical event when the plane of Earth's equator passes the center of the Sun. Equinoxes occur twice a year, around 21st March and 22nd/23rd September.

The image on the right, by Przemyslaw Blueshade Idzkiewicz (from Wikipedia), shows the illumination of Earth by Sun on the day of equinox (vernal and autumnal). It is a view to eastern-hemisphere  showing  noon  in  Central European time zone (ignoring DST) on the day of equinox.

At this point in the year, the night and day lengths are exactly equal, so it's a time of balance and a good time for introspection, look for what is good and worthwhile to become seeds for next year.

Here in the UK, followers of the Druids, Pagans, Celtic and Gaelic traditions, as well as Wicca religion, gather at megalithic stone circles such as Stonehenge (Near Salisbury, Wiltshire) and Castlerigg (Keswick, Cumbria), to celebrate and watch the equinox sunrise.

  • Monday 25th March @ 07:00, Equinox Easter Worm Full Moon

Easter Full Moon 28th March and healing circleMonday 25th March @ 07:00 is the Equinox Worm Full Moon. It's also a Micromoon. There will also be a penumbral lunar eclipse. The start of the eclipse will be visible in London (from about 05:00) until the Moon dips below the horizon, see timeanddate.com for details.

Although the eclipse won't be entirely visible in the UK, it will still affect us energetically.

A Micromoon is when the moon appears smaller and weaker in the sky because it is reaches the furthest proximity to Earth (known as the apogee*) coinciding with the New Moon or Full Moon.

*The moon orbits around the Earth in an ellipse which takes just over 29 days, meaning that it reaches points in the year when it is at its closest (perigee, when it is about 363,000 km away) and furthest (apogee, when it is about 405,500 KM) from our planet. When the Full Moon or New Moon coincides with the Perigee it's known as a Supermoon and when the Full Moon or New Moon coincides with the Apogee it's known as a Micromoon.

Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

Tonight's Full Moon is nicknamed the Worm Moon!  This month, the moon fixes the date for Easter, as Easter Sunday is always immediately after the first full moon following the Equinox (Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere). So Easter Sunday will be 31st March.

Through Harmony Healing, Joanna offers a wider spectrum of events designed to nurture your welbeing. If you are looking for regular spiritually enlightening activities which help to connect you with the lunar cycle, we have our monthly Full Moon Guided Healing Meditations. Book at the Harmony Shop.

Essence of the MoonOur Full Moon image this month is called Essence of the Moon painting by Zoe Hudson. For commission enquiries, see Zoe's website or email

The Worm Moon, was so named by the Native American tribes who named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Some Native Americans identified the Worm Moon with earthworm casts appearing as the spring warmth develops and hence the birds finding their food. Other tribes knew it as the Crow Moon, Lenten Moon and Sap Moon. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraphfor more on this).

Although the Celts were believed to have revered nature, the idea that they also had tree names for each Full Moon of the year, is neo-Pagan, having been introduced by Robert Graves in the 1948, which I find rather charming. So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings, this is the Alder Moon. At this time of year the Alder is prominent and flourishing on the river banks, with its roots dipping in the water, offering itself up as a magical bridge between heaven and earth. Known as Fearn (pronounced Faerin) it is associated with Faerie Magic; an ideal time for spiritual decision-making relating to divination and prophesy, as well as for honing our intuitive skills. Alder twigs and flowers are well known charms in Faerie Lore, with Alder shoots being used to make whistles and flutes to commune with the air elementals. More about this at learnreligions.comor Celtic Weirdness website.

Being very close to the Equinox, this Alder Moon will carry the frequency of balance and harmony embodied by the Equinox when light and dark are in perfect balance.

  • Monday 3rd August, Holly Full Moon plus Hindu Festival

Image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood fro Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel Cards

Monday 3rd August @ 16.59 is Full Moon (Holly Moon). Tonight, I'm holding a Virtual Harmony Healing Circle, 7.30-9.30pm UK time, £11 (half price to VFoA/RSE graduates).

The image left is from Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel Cards, and also in A Harmony of Angels book, both available from the Harmony Shop.

Click here for Angela McGerr's Full Moon Angelic Meditation with Gabriel.

Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body. I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

The Druids and Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year. The Druids, venerated all nature and to them this is the Holly Moon,an evergreen which reminds us of the immortality of nature. This Full Moon was also known by the Celts as the Tinne, pronounced chihnn-uh';they saw hollyas a potent symbol of masculinity and firmness. Weapons were often constructed from its wood but it was also revered for its protective magic. A sprig of holly can be hung in the home, or used as a charm, for safety and good luck. Holly water was created by soaking leaves overnight in spring water under a full moon, then used for protective blessing. I wonder if it was the origin of 'holy water'?  More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website.

© Surub | <a href="https://www.stockfreeimages.com/">Stock Free Images</a>Similarly the Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. Sturgeons have a strange grey-green colouration, a pointed snout and feature a cat-like pair of tactile whiskers above their mouth (amazing photo by © SurubStock Free Images) and are sometimes referred to as 'living fossils' as they are part of a genus of fish which has existed for over 135 million years! See more at timeanddate.com.

Other tribes knew this August Full Moon as the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, Barley Moonand Fruit Moon, as it was the month when these various crops were harvested. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

Monday 3rd August is also Raksha Bandhan, the Hindu festival honouring the bond between brothers and sisters.  Celebrated on the day of the Full Moon in August, see Wikipedia for more on this.

We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

  • Monday 6th June, first of three dates with 666 Numerology

    555 numerology

Monday 6th June is a primary 666 in numerology. 2022 is a '6' year in numerology (2+0+2+2 = 6), June is the 6th month and today is the 6th day of the month, so this is a primary 666 as each component of the month adds up to 6. Wednesday 15th and Friday 24th June (the latter also being Midsummers Day) will carry secondary 666 energy as the components of these dates also add up to 6.

    What is Numerology?
Numerology is the study of the symbolism of numbers.

Numerology is the study of the symbolism of numbers and the science attributing significance and meaning to seemingly random numbers happening globally or noticed in our environment. Double or triple digit numbers are added together and reduced into a single digit (as above with the digits of the year).

The Numerology of the Number 6 and 666

In numerology, the number 6 can be said to represent the sacred vibration of light focusing on love, marriage, home, family, nurturing, compassion, healing, service and success. Number 6 also symbolises beauty and high ideals.

But by far the most vital representation of the number 6 is healing and integration, particularly regarding personal cellular vibration.

It’s bizarre that 666 has been associated with the number of the devil, since it is a very positive number in numerology. Mystics believe it is precisely because of its empowering nature that it has been concealed from common access.

The 6-pointed star represents the Macrocosm - Divinity within all. The opposite of the association many people have of 666 with the devil and negativity.

Double numbers (i.e. 11, 22, 33 etc.) and triple numbers (111, 222, 333 etc.) are known as repdigits and intensifies the meaning.

666 is also known as the number of the Sun - Carbon (CO2) which is the chemical basis of all physical life. It has 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons. The shape of carbon molecules points to the hexagram, which is the symbol of unity.

According to the bible, the world was created in 6 days

“Six is a number perfect in itself, not because God created all things in six days; rather, the convert is true God created all things in six days because the number is perfect.” Saint Augustine (The City of God)

Edwin Courtenay on the numerology of 6

6 is the number of the Mother and 666 (666 added up = 18 = 9) is the number of the Wisewoman or Crone - the fact that there are three 6s (3 being the number of the Maiden) revealing the number to be sacred to the Divine and Holy Mother - the triplicity that is Sophia, Shekinah and Seige - Wisdom, Love and Silence!

According to Edwin, some would assert that number 666, a powerful number representing the Great Goddess, is traditionally associated with the Devil or the Anti-Christ and is veiled by Christianity in darkness and doom, in order to turn us away from its true power as liberator and empowerer of humanity!

666 is mathematically described as a triangular number (the number reached if we add each of the first 36 numbers together).

The Ancient Egyptians - The Number Six represents Tehuti (Djeuti, Thoth), the God of Wisdom

666 numerology TehutiIn Egyptian art, Tetuti (Thoth) is depicted as an ibis-headed god or a baboon. According to tradition,Tehuti invented writing and numbers, hence we was the scribe of the gods and the patron god of scribes.

Subsequently, scribes taught by Tehuti created the letters of the Roman alphabet and the Arabic number set. Pagan religious icons were used to create the symbols that are the letters and numbers we know and use today.

The number 6 is a Pagan religious icon, representing the head of an Ibis. Pagan religious icons can be used to record and communicate our thoughts See resurrectisis.org

Herodotus wrote, around the 5th Century BC: Of all the nations of the world, the Khemitians are the happiest, healthiest and most religious.

This was attributed to their holistic view of man as a function of the Cosmos; they saw it as essential to be in tune with metaphysical realities in their daily lives. The complex vibrations of the body were a reflection of the rhythms, harmonies and pulsations of the universe.  When out of tune, the body would display disease.  To heal a person, it was necessary to use magic to summon the healing harmonic phenomena.

The Khemitians believed that man was created in the image of God and embodied all living creatures. All aspects of nature, such as colours, crystals, animals, plants etc. had counterparts within man.  Man’s body was his temple; and the rite of self-perfection was his soul purpose and ultimate destiny.

They also understood that if man was a microcosm of the universe (represented by 5 – the numerology of 2021), then all aspects of man would manifest on a magnified scale within the universe; in other words, the universe was a macrocosm of man.  The Macrocosm is represented by the number 6 – the numerology of 2022.  Hence last year and this year work together to escalate our spiritual growth.

The Emerald Tablets, attributed to Tehuti (also called Djeuti, Thoth, Hermes and Mercury at various historical junctures, with the Greek version Hermes Trismegistus giving us the term Hermetic Philosophies) details how everything we see is a representation of what we don't see - As Above, So Below - with man being a 'Microcosm' or miniature replica of the 'Macrocosm' being the All.

Our bodies contain our own set of energetic lines and points and although only remnants of what they once were, these lines and points continue to serve as our interface with the universe. This interface is a channel that facilitates our transfer of information and energy between macrocosm and microcosm, the universe and humankind. At one point in time, we became disconnected from these lines and diluted our inherent connection to the universe, distancing us from our previously rapid and expansive rate of evolution.

Thus we are intimately connected with everything. Our individual actions cause reactions in the macrocosm and activities in the greater universe/stars manifest within us.  Physical functions of body parts were seen as manifestations of cosmic functions and particular attributes with specified planets.

There was a strong astrological element too, with medicines being administered at specified times to coincide with astrological influences.  Operations were timed to take advantage of beneficial cosmic rhythms using colours, metals and numbers as manipulative tools.  Hekau (mantras) would be invoked, with music and sound being used to create appropriate vibrational enhancements.  Incantations and chanting created controlled influences on the affected organs. The correct pronunciation of Hekau or Neteru (the plural of Neter) could oust incompatible energies which were causing discomfort and recalibrate the cellular vibration to a more harmonious setting.

The Ancient Greeks - the Number Six is a perfect number

The Pythagoreans acknowledged number 6 to be the first perfect number. In mathematics a perfect number is when all the numbers divisors (excluding the number itself) are added, the sum equals the number itself. 1+2+3=6

In addition when including the number itself and dividing by two the result is the number itself. (1+2+3+6)/2 = 6

Perfect numbers are rare. The Ancient Greeks identified four perfect numbers: 6 – 28 – 496 – 8,128. Throughout history perfect numbers have fascinated mathematicians and, over time, more perfect numbers have been discovered. See mysticalnumbers.com

    Repeated numbers in Numerology
Double numbers (i.e. 11, 22, 33 etc.) and triple numbers (111, 222, 333 etc.) are called repdigits and this intensifies the meaning.  With 666, we have an additional factor that 666 is a Harshad number (divisible by the sum of its digits).

Harshad is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘Joy-giver’.

    Angelic Numerology
My sister, Angela McGerr, refers to Angel Numerology.

Last year was 5 numerology. In Angela's system, she describes 5 as the number of raising of spiritual consciousness, linked to the five-point star of Microcosm. 55 means you are reaching the next, higher level, while 555 mean you have attained a certain level of Mastery in a healing discipline or Angelic Wisdom, or another esoteric subject, greatly furthering your own Soul Quest.

This year we have 6 numerology, which is the macrocosm. Hence, the numerology of 666, gives us both the bigger picture (6) whereas last year was the smaller detail (5).

5 brings expansion through spiritual growth and 6 brings healing and consolidation of that personal expansion, hence life can be said to be dance of 5 & 6 as this cycle repeats ongoingly.

    Summary
Last year we had 555 numerology on 5th May 2021, with 5 being the number of change, motion, freedom and exploration. 5 is also said to represent the Microcosm (the individual) and 6 is said to represent the Macrocosm (the collective). 6 is the number of creativity, of family, relationships and success. This year on 6th June 2022, we have 666, so 3 times the opportunity of eliminating our fears and creating successful relationships.

Healing therefore involves the subtle manipulation of the macrocosm, which resulted in a beneficial manifestation within the universal replica, the microcosm, namely the human being. Man was born mortal but because he contained the seed of the divine, could be heavily influenced by divine intervention.  Life’s purpose was to nourish that seed and move towards a higher state of consciousness, leading to a reunification with the Divine.

Author Bruce Lipton, says a human body comprises 50 trillion cells, each meeting the definition of a living organism in as much as they respire, digest, reproduce, excrete and demonstrate sensitivity, growth and movement.  Hence each cell is like a miniature human being. The current population of the Earth is less than 7.7 billion. In many ways, each of us is like a single cell within the collective humanity.

If 50 trillion individual cells can harmonise together as a single community, there must be hope for 7.7 billion to co-ordinate positive thoughts and co-create a better future for our planet.

  • Saturday 10th July, New Moon at 02.17 (Friday night/Saturday morning)

10 July New MoonSaturday 10th July (Friday night/Saturday morning) @ 02:17 is the New Moon.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing balance and wellbeing into our lives.  My next lunar cycle study course is Wednesday 6th October - Thursday 4th November.

Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (small admin fee added for PayPal) or half price to RSE graduates. Book at the Harmony Shop.

14 Oct New Moon & Annular eclipse image

Saturday 14th October @ 18:55 is New Moon and an annular solar eclipse which will cross North, Central, and South America. It will be visible in parts of the United States, Mexico, and many countries in South and Central America. More information at timeanddate.com.

A solar eclipse takes place when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, hence totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth.

  • Saturday 14th September, Equinox Micro Full Moon @ 05.53

Image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood fro Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel Cards

Saturday 14th September @ 05.53 (Friday night/Saturday Morning) is the Equinox Micro Full Moon. This year it's also the Equinox Moon because of its proximity to the Equinox which this year is Monday 23rd @ 08.50, which will be the Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere (including the UK) and the Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere.

A Micromoon happens when a New Moon or Full Moon coincides with the apogee; when the Moon's orbit is farthest away from Earth. Because the Moon orbits Earth on an elliptical path, one side of the path is always closer to the Earth than the other. See  timeanddate.com for more about this.

Click here for Angela McGerr's Full Moon Meditation with Gabriel. Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

Image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood from Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel Cards, available from the Harmony Shop (signed by Angela).

Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body. I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

The Celts had names for each Full Moon of the year, and associated each with a tree; this is the Vine Moon (thoughtco.com). All over the northern hemisphere, at this time of year, the fruits of the vine are ripe for harvesting and ready for the first stages of wine production.

Similarly the Native American tribes, and indeed Anglo-Saxon and Germanic Tribes, named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons. The Full Moon in September is the Harvest Moon. There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Whilst some believe that Harvest Moon was a Native American expression, the term has been recorded in Anglo Saxon and Old High German languages since the 700s. See more at timeanddate.com.

Other Native American tribes knew this September Full Moon as the Barley Moon and Full Corn Moon to signify when these crops are at their most ready for harvesting. Many American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

  • Saturday 24th February is Full Moon @ 12:30 and audio-recorded Full Moon meditation available from 9pm UK time

Snow Moon genericSaturday 24th February is Snow Full Moon, peaking at 12.30pm UK time. It's also a Micromoon this month.

Normally, I hold my Full Moon meditation, live on Zoom between 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT).  However, this month I am working in the woods during the day and I am going to record a meditation in the woods (audio only), which will be circulated to registrants by 9pm. Cost is £20 (+ £1 Paypal fee), with concessions for my students. Book as usual through the Harmony Shop - Events and you will receve a link to the recording, later in the evening.

The Native American tribes named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons, called the February Full Moon the Snow Moon. There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. The Snow Moon is apparently named because historically it's been the snowiest month in America. Other tribes knew it as the Hunger Moonbecause it isn't conducive to hunting. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this).

It was thought the Celts also had names for each Full Moon of the year, however it seems this is a Neo Pagan belief first proposed by Robert Graves in his book The White Goddess published in 1948. In it, Graves reinvented the genuine early-medieval Irish ogham alphabet, purported to be based on trees, and created a Celtic Tree Calendar, naming 13 months after trees. Although it isn't an ancient tradition, being a tree lover myself and interested in Celtic words, I find it rather charming.

So, according to Robert Graves's imaginings, this is the Ash Moon (learnreligions.com). The Druids, venerated all nature but the three most sacred trees to them was the Ash, Oak and Thorn. The Ash tree features a great deal in Irish and Scottish folklore (the latter also including the Rowan, a form of Mountain Ash).  In the 12th Century, Marie de France wrote one of her famous lais about the Ash. The Ash is associated with rituals, magic and prophesy, making it a perfect choice for divining. Indeed, traditionally, more tools were made from Ash than any other wood, because it's not only very strong but it also resists shock (better than other hard woods such as oak or beech) making it an ideal choice for tool handles.  Ash berries were placed inside a baby's cradle to prevent the child being replaced with a 'changeling'. One of Odin's names in Norse is Ygg, which also means Ash, with the World tree, Yggdrasil, being an Ash.  Odin's spear was made from this tree.

Whilst writing a previous Blog article I wondered if our word 'ash' for something burnt was derived from the possible act of burning the magical tools (made predominantly of Ash) in an attempt to destroy the power of the Celtic Priests.

Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

Anyway, whatever the weather conditions, it's a fantastic excuse to get people of all ages outside in the fresh air and re-connecting with nature. Something our modern lifestyles and obsession with technology can distract us from doing...

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

  • Sturgeon Full Moon, Bank Holiday Weekend, 26th-27th August 2018

Image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood fro Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel Cards

Sunday 26th August is Pagan Full Moon at 12.58.

Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

© Surub | <a href="https://www.stockfreeimages.com/">Stock Free Images</a>The Sturgeon Moon, was so named by the Native American tribes who named each moon to keep track of the months and seasons.  There isn't a standardised system however, as some tribes took a year to be 12 moon cycles, whilst others went with 13 moon cycles. Similarly some tribes worked with five seasons per year whereas others went with four. Some Native Americans identified the Sturgeon Moon as it was the month when the fish were typically abundant in North America.  Although once plentiful, sadly now they are rare enough to be considered endangered. Sturgeons can grow enormous - they can reach over 2 metres long and weigh up to 90 kilos, plus they can have amazingly long lives, the males up to 55 years and the females up to 150 years.  Sturgeons have a strange grey-green colouration, a pointed snout and feature a cat-like pair of tactile whiskers above their mouth (amazing photo by © Surub | Stock Free Images) and are sometimes referred to as 'living fossils' as they are part of a genus of fish which has existed for over 135 million years! See more at timeanddate.com.

Other tribes knew this August Full Moon as the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, Barley Moonand Fruit Moon, as it was the month when these various crops were harvested. American Farmers have adopted these titles so that they are still used today. (See article in the Telegraph for more on this)

Similarly, the Druids and Celts also had names for each Full Moon of the year. The Druids, venerated all nature and to them this is the HazelMoon,as it's the season when the hazelnuts appear, and they were associated with protection and wisdom. Druid folklore revered the hazel for its connection with the sacred wells and magical springs which was home to the salmon of knowledge.  This August Full Moon  was also known by the Celts as the Coll Moon, which means 'the life force inside you'. It's considered timely to focus on wisdom and knowledge, dream journalling, divination and dowsing. Painters, writers and musicians might find it a good time to re-kindle their intuition after a possible artitistic block, try writing a poem or song this month. More about this at the Celtic Weirdness website I happily stumbled upon.

Image of Gabriel by Richard Rockwood from Angela McGerr's Harmony Angel Cards.

I recommend an oil pulling technique, with coconut oil, which must be from a glass container for best taste.

Sunday 26th August is also Raksha Bandhan, the Hindu festival honouring the bond between brothers and sisters.  Celebrated on the day of the Full Moon in August, some might celebrate it on the 25th August this year.  See website for more.

Monday 27th August is the Summer Bank Holiday in the UK.
