Monday 30th May @ 12:32 is the New Moon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy. There are video instructions on my You Tube Page.

It is a fabulous day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2022.  Focussing on what you want to manifest in your life is a really effective way of bringing harmony, balance and wellbeing into your life. Creating a Vision Board which illustrates pictorially how you envisage your goals taking shape, really helps to make the possibilities seem real and attainable and gives a source of reference later when you want to look back and compare what you set out to achieve to what has materialised in the interim.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the New Moon (good for starting new projects) and Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives. For full immersion with moon energy join one of our New Moon New Vision, Lunar Cycle Alignment Programmes. The next one is 25th October - 23rd November and costs £155.

Harmony Healing activities are aimed at bringing harmony and wellbeing. If you are looking for spiritually enlightening activities which help to connect you with the lunar cycle, we hold monthly Full Moon Guided Healing Meditations.During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. Book at thHarmony Shop.

Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians, in the form of Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 Egyptian Alchemy Healing. Featuring four online modules of Khemitology (Ancient Egyptology according to the indigenous oral traditions), Violet Flame of Amenti, Mindful Chakra Balancing & Essene Angelology.Missed sessions are fully recorded so that late registrations or are possible. Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 costs £266 and run about three times a year. the individual modules are stand-alone and cost either £88 or £66, hence the RSE 1 Package offers a cost saving.

A virtual Violet Flame of Amenti evening course recently completed on 26th May at a cost of £88. The Violet Flame is an ancient tool of alchemy and this course features over 6 hours of tuition, a manual and an attunement into the Violet Flame. Since the zoom sessions are recorded, it is possible to study the interactive material after the course has completed.

  • 24th June, Midsummer's Day in British Tradition & Fors Fortuna in Roman Tradition

24th June Mid Summers DaySaturday 24th June is Midsummers Day and was considered magical in Cornwall and Ireland, when there was feasting, fires, songs, and dances. Bonfires were kindled on high hills to commemorate the high point of the year.

Traditionally, the veil is thin between the dimensions housing the living and the dead at this time, hence its setting for Shakepeare's Play a Midsummer Night's Dream.

June 24th was designated as a feast celebration called St John's Day in the Christian Calendar, dedicated to the marytr St John The Baptist. The observance begins the night before as St John's Eve.  It's also commemorated in Freemasonry.

However, Midsummer's Day celebrations long predates Christianity, and has existed under different names and traditions globally.

24th June is also the Roman Festival of Fors Fortuna. Fors is an ancient Roman Goddess of prosperity, good luck, and divine blessings. Her name means "She Who Brings", from the Latin verb fero, synonymous with abundance and success.  This seems to have merged with Fortuna, probably originally a Goddess of fertility, into the Goddess called Fors Fortuna, who was acknowledged as sometimes being fickle or wanton and representing Fortune as Goddess of luck or chance.

She was especially worshipped by slaves and commoners, as the Goddess who could bring about rags-to-riches transformations; with at least two dedicated temples in Rome being founded by former slaves in gratitude for their changed luck. It also looks to have been the origin of the phrase Wheel of Fortune.

By keeping traditions, communities in Ancient Britain retained a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives.

If you are interested in Ancient Egypt, Joanna Bristow-Watkins (Harmony Healing) is a Reyad Sekh Em® Egyptian Alchemy Healer and Teaching Mentor. Developed by Joanna, Reyad Sekh Em® is an ultra high vibration healing system combining ancient Egyptian philosophies, alchemy, angelic elemental healing rays, sound vibration, sacred breathing and etheric crystalline energies. Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 Egyptian Alchemy Healing features four online modules of Khemitology (Ancient Egyptology according to the indigenous oral traditions), Violet Flame of Amenti, Mindful Chakra Balancing & Essene Angelology.Missed sessions are fully recorded so that late registrations or are possible. Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 costs £266 and run about three times a year. the individual modules are stand-alone and cost either £88 or £66, hence the RSE 1 Package offers a cost saving.

  • 3:3:3 numerology Awaken Your Avatar, 30th March 2019

Saturday 30th March -  a gentle reminder that this is the final 3-3-3 numerology for this month, for which I've chosen the theme Awaken Your Avatar; which is basically a suggestion that we consolidate our internal conflict (balance our masculine/feminine, home/work-life, even positive/negative personality traits) and focus on connecting with our inner knowing (Higher Self) which we all hold within.  This means opening the heart and working toward integrating the Higher Self (spiritual aspects) and Lower Self (basic functional needs) to create an enlightened being (Avatar). Below is a recap of the 3-3-3 numerology and theme for this third month.

2019 is a '3' year in numerology (2+0+1+9 = 12, then 1+2 =3), March is the third month and so there are four dates this month where the digits add up to three (3rd, 12th, 21st and 30th) giving us four separate examples of 3:3:3 numerology, which can be interpreted as meaning 'awaken your avatar' as well as 'creating heaven on earth'. The same 3:3:3 numerology will apply on 3rd, 12th, 21st and 30th December 2019. These dates will all offer amplified energies for manifesting our hopes and dreams.  Full details on the numerology are detailed in the separate section below.

myAvatar2010 was the last '3 year'. That was the year when I saw the film Avatar and was struck by some very deep resonances within the storyline (though I personally think the film would have been improved by at least 30-45 mins less battle combat scenes). The blue skin of the Na'vi is interesting (Ptah, the Egyptian Deity, is depicted with blue skin and it is said that the beings from Sirius have blue skin), but I particularly like the way the Na'vi understood the inter-relationship between species and the need to honour all life forms, plus their appreciation of the life force infrastructure network operating via trees!  This is something that my sister (Angela McGerr) and I work with (via the Sacred Eden Tree, original archetypal tree from the Garden of Eden), through which much global and planetary healing can be disseminated.  Most people would not understand this concept at all, so in a way, films like Avatar sew the seeds for this being not such a challenging idea!  Of course Avatar, though it has come to mean in techno speak representation of self as a chosen archetype (or even via a Caricature - see mine left courtesy of avatar maker), as defined by is original Sanskrit meaning, was the representation/incarnation of a Deity via a human or animal body, so in the film both definitions are combined with the idea of an idealised/perfected template of self.

By Awakening our Avatar, we can become masters of our destiny.  Just imagine what we can do by tuning in 'en masse' at 3.33 (am or pm would work, though I fancy pm will be more popular!) on any of these 3:3:3 portals. I will be undertaking a meditation between 3 - 3.33, hopefully on all of these dates, but certainly on the 3rd and 30th, please tune-in if you are available.  Close your eyes at a convenient time, which could be 3pm in your local time or the equivalent of 3pm GMT (when we will be meditating), or, if this is not possible, then invoke Eth, the angelic Guardian of time, to bend time so that you can join us etherically.  Send your positive intentions for awakening your Avatar and also for seeing the planet healed, to create for ourselves the next golden age.

See this Lost Generation You Tube video link for a thought-provoking (1 minute 50 seconds) presentation on the need for global responsibility.  This was also, synchronistically, first uploaded in 2010.

  • 3:3:3 numerology Awaken Your Avatar, 3rd December 2019

Tuesday 3rd December - is the first 3:3:3 numerology for this month, for which I've chosen the theme Awaken Your Avatar; which is basically a suggestion that we consolidate our internal conflict (balance our masculine/feminine, home/work-life, even positive/negative personality traits) and focus on connecting with our inner knowing (Higher Self) which we all hold within. This means opening the heart and working toward integrating the Higher Self (spiritual aspects) and Lower Self (basic functional needs) to create an enlightened being (Avatar).  I have an online meditation, aimed at identifying and overcoming what is holding you back from achieving your full potential, you can join on 12th December (which is a 12:12:12 as well as another 3:3:3) - see below for details.

Below is a recap of the 3:3:3 numerology and theme for this month.

2019 is a '3' year in numerology (2+0+1+9 = 12, then 1+2 =3), March was the third month and so there were four dates back in March where the digits added up to three (3rd, 12th, 21st and 30th) giving us four separate examples of 3:3:3 numerology, which can be interpreted as meaning 'Awaken your Avatar' as well as 'creating heaven on earth'. Because December is the 12th month, the digits again reduce to '3' when added together, so the same 3:3:3 numerology applies on 3rd, 12th, 21st and 30th December 2019. These dates will all offer amplified energies for manifesting our hopes and dreams.  Full details on the numerology are detailed in the separate section below.

Most healers are aware of the Sacred and Ancient Law of Three, examples being:

    • The Trinity of Father, Son and Spirit or Isis (Aset), Osiris (Ausar), Horus (Heru);
    • The composition of matter: Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen;
    • The components of man: Body, Essence, Personality or Mind, Body, Spirit.

The number three is also mentioned in the Emerald Tablets of Thoth (Tehuti) as follows:

    • Three is the Mystery come from the Great One: One God, One Truth, One Point of Freedom
    • Three are the Paths of the Soul: Man, Liberty, Light.
    • Three are the Qualities of God in his Light home: Infinite Power, Infinite Wisdom, Infinite Love.

As this 3:3:3 numerology gives us 3 x 3s, this amplifies the sacred spritual energy exponentially.

myAvatar2010 was the last '3 year'. That was the year when I saw the film Avatar and was struck by some very deep resonances within the storyline (though I personally think the film would have been improved by at least 30 mins less battle combat scenes). By Awakening our Avatar, we can become masters of our destiny. Just imagine what we can do by tuning in 'en masse' at 3 (am or pm would work, though I fancy pm will be more popular!) on any of these 3:3:3 portals.

If you would like to join in on a 3:3:3 celebration, I am running a 3:3:3 virtual 'Awaken Your Avatar' guided meditation via Zoom on 12th December, which is another 3-3-3 numerology. the evnt will start at 3pm UK time (GMT/UT) for 33 minutes, the cost is £13.33. See Awaken Your Avatar on Harmony Healing website for details and to book. The Awaken Your Avatar meditation involves working with the Violet flame of transmutation to identify and overcome what is holding you back from achieving your full potential.

Oak tree lying in state HC 2009Interestingly, in 2009, my other sister (garden designer and counsellor, Fiona  Stephenson), was awarded a Gold Medal for her RHS Hampton Court Show Garden entitled Oak Tree Lying in State (image right) which was all about showing reverence for nature.

Featured in the Telegraph at the time, the newpaper article singled out the best 'sustainable' garden as follows "the intriguing and original Oak Tree: Lying in State by Fiona Stephenson, which has as its focus a century-old oak tree trunk lying on its side on top of a floral red carpet, surrounded by oak saplings".

This year I have been training as a Forest Bathing+ Guide. Part of the training has involved studying the plethora of evidence that being in nature, particularly in ancient woodland, is undeniably beneficial for our wellbeing.

An earlier Show Garden of Fiona's, Growing Together in 2007, was a collaboration with the RHS (Royal Horticultual Society) and pyschologists from the University of Essex. The parties involved studied the wellbeing impact of spending just three minutes in the specially designed healing garden and the results were incredible. Fiona and I are planning a new initiative to explore wellbeing through nature therapy; exploring garden settings as well as woodlands.

See this Lost Generation You Tube video link for a thought-provoking (1 minute 50 seconds) presentation on the need for global responsibility.  This was also, synchronistically, first uploaded in 2010.

On Tuesday 3rd December, 7.30 - 10pm there will be a healing share at Harmony Healing, see my Surrey meet-up for details.

If you can't join us on the 3rd December but would like to join in on a 3:3:3 celebration, I am running a 3:3:3 virtual 'Awaken Your Avatar' meditation via Zoom on 12th December, which is another 3:3:3 numerology, at 3pm UK time (GMT/UT) for 33 minutes, the cost is £13.33. See Awaken Your Avatar on Harmony Healing website for details and to book.  The Awaken Your Avatar meditation involves working with the Violet flame of transmutation to identify and overcome what is holding you back from achieving your full potential.

Thursday 25th January is an ideal day for a Zadkiel Abundance Ritual.

Jupiter is the planet ruling Thursdays and Zadkiel is the Angelic Guardian of Jupiter and Thursdays as well as abundance, success, wisdom and kindness. The period between the New Moon and Full Moon is when the Moon energy is supportive of abundance and manifestation, with the energy getting stronger as the Full moon approaches.

Whilst this abundance practice can be carried out on any Thursday, the Thursday immediately before the Full moon is the most energetically supportive. With the Full Moon happening on Sunday 5th February (see below for details of our online Full Moon guided meditation), today is a great day for this Zadkiel ritual.

Our Full Moon Global & Personal Healing Meditation is Saturday 28th October, 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT + 1), and costs £20. During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. Book at the Harmony Shop.

    RITUAL FOR ABUNDANCE WITH ZADKIEL

Zadkiel Abundance RitualFirst consider your life, and what sort of abundance you are seeking. Bear in mind that you could wish for abundance of health, happiness, money, love, spiritual development - the list is infinite. Here is an example affirmation:

"I am grounded and safe and with the help of the angels I open my heart both to receive and to radiate Love and Light to the Universe. Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Spirit nourish and heal me, and in return I share this with Mother Earth and all sentient life. As Microcosm I strive to grow in spiritual consciousness and as Macrocosm I am part of All, for the spark of the Divine is within me. The Waters of Time flow through me and will bring me the abundance I need, sometimes in surprising ways. In accordance with the Universal Laws I shall return good for good as an expression of my eternal gratitude to the Creator. As Above So Below, As Below So Above."

    • Carry out the ritual during a waxing moon, near full moon if possible.
    • Make an altar cloth. This can be in any colour (or shape), such as white (for angels and purity), gold for healing and the sun, blue or turquoise for Zadkiel himself. Choose the colour and shape which appeals to you personally. Place suitable crystals in the centre; you could represent earth/air (smoky quartz/amethyst, water (aquamarine/malachite) and fire (amber) with crystals or just use clear quartz (an all purpose crystal)
    • Use a feather to represent the link with the angels, and spiritual Truth.
    • Now select a deep blue or turquoise candle (or white) for Zadkiel; etch into it the sign for the planet Jupiter (bringer of abundance, wisdom and joy) or doubled to represent Zadkiel (see below).
    • (optional) Anoint the candle with a drop of frankincense or myrhh to aid your quest.
    • Make an arc of your arm as you light the candle and call on the Angel Zadkiel to assist you to send your Affirmation in the name of the planet Jupiter, in Love and Light, Love and Light, Love and Light.
    • If you have one and wish to programme it, hold in your left hand a lapis lazuli or turquoise crystal (for Zadkiel) to bring wisdom to recognise opportunity when it presents itself.
    • Next read your personal Affirmation three times.
    • Ask the angels of the elements: Phuel, Lord of the Waters, Uriel, ruler of Fire, and Ariel, of earth and air to carry your Affirmation to the Universe
    • Ask Ruhiel, Guardian Angel of the Winds, to carry and speed your Affirmation on its way.
    • Let it go. Send it and then forget about it! Do not interfere with it!
    • If you can, leave your candle to burn out. If not pinch or snuff out, as you lose forty per cent of its energy by blowing it out.
    • Thank Zadkiel, and all the other angels you invoked, for their support and assistance.

It should be noted that this Affirmation should work within a few weeks of its release, and things should start to change for the better from this point onwards. Remember to also give thanks to the angels and the Creator for any abundance that you subsequently receive, and to spread it around you to others who need it.

  • Angels - not just for Christmas

Angel Gabriel by Richard Rockwood from Angela McGerrs Harmony Angel CardsOne December morning, as the last lyrics of ‘Hark the Herald, Angels Sing’ faded away on my car radio, I was briefly transported back to 1998. I could hear my Reiki teacher recommending that I call in the Parking Angel should I need to a manifest a space in an overflowing car park. Frankly, at the time, I thought she‘d lost the plot; as surely angels were ‘just something for Christmas’.

Describing myself as spiritual rather than religious, I can appreciate the supportive role institutional religions can play in the community but personally I’ve never felt aligned with the strict doctrines to which some faiths expect believers to comply. So, on reflection, I wonder whether that was my initial resistance to involving angels in my life.

I’m embarrassed to admit, that at the time, I found the beaming, winged and chubby pre-Raphaelite image of Caucasian angels a little hard to take seriously other than as an adornment on the annual festive greeting cards.

My sister Angela McGerr was on the same 1998 Reiki Mastery course. Her attitude was markedly different to mine. She told me later her first reaction was not to ‘call in’ anything that she couldn’t fully understand. So, she decided to investigate them. And that’s exactly what she did, almost obsessively for the next 18 months. In fact, she later admitted that she suspects she was hi-jacked by the angels themselves to create a way of making angels accessible in today’s fast-paced society.

17 years later, in 2015, Angela’s 10th angel book was published, and with cumulative sales nearing one million copies, she was firmly established as a UK best seller in this niche market. She’s since retired from designing angel card sets and writing books but continues to be involved with all things angelic.

So how did she win me round? Initially my ‘interest’ was purely sisterly support of her growing fascination and success, and I was still lukewarm (to say the least) on a personal level. But over time, I came to appreciate the accuracy of her angel readings and their loving support in my life. Now they are an important feature of my mentoring programme and practitioner teaching courses.

The first step was to realise that angels have a much longer history of interaction with humanity than we might think, they certainly pre-date most of our contemporary organised religions.

    Angels in Contemporary Culture

Many people are familiar with the angels in the Christmas story, especially Gabriel, central to the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in the Christian faith. However, Gabriel also appears as an archangel in the Jewish faith, first described in the Hebrew Bible.

The traditional Shema prayer of the Jewish faith sites Gabriel as one of four archangels called on for protection through the night. A translation would be:

Michael to my right side, Gabriel to my left, Uriel before me, and Raphael to my back.”

Indeed, Muslims assert that the Quran was orally dictated by God to the final prophet, Muhammad, through the Angel Gabriel (known to them as Jibril). They believe this took place, in stages, over a period of some 23 years, commencing when Muhammad was 40, in month of Ramadan; and concluding in 632, the year of his death.

The Nativity is where many people of the Christian faith, whether Protestant, Catholic or other (or no faith!) will first be introduced to angels. Gabriel is one of the most sought-after parts in any school Nativity!

Returning to the aforementioned cherubic angel images, these are purely representations by the artists of the time so that they could tell a visual story, both in murals and fine examples such as the celebrated fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy.

Where did that idea come from? And why are they so often blond and Caucasian in appearance?

Leaving aside the politics of the time, and possible colonial influence, these depictions were an attempt of the current popular culture to represent beings that are much, much older.

The concept of angels predates Christianity by more than four thousand years. Winged figures were depicted in the earliest recorded civilisation (Sumeria, circa 4000 BC) and Colonel Churchward reported the first glyph representations of angels as being even earlier, in Lemuria, though the existence of Lemuria is not universally accepted. It seem that the term angelology, stems from the Essenes, a healing sect living in the Dead Sea area contemporary with Jesus.

It may be that our conventional interpretation comes from our brain’s need to recognise what it is seeing as a familiar sight – a bright light surrounding a ‘floating and wraithlike being’ may well be interpreted as a halo and wings. Perhaps this even started with Mary herself, in her attempt to explain what would have been an almost impossible experience to relate to others.

Angel Raphael by Richard Rockwood from Angela McGerrs Harmony Angel CardsSo, what are angels?

My personal interpretation of angels is as ethereal light beings, a construct shared by many others including my sister Angela, who chose to represent angels in her Harmony Angel Cards and other richly illustrated publications (sadly mostly now out of print, though I still have some signed unused and pre-loved editions available at the Harmony Shop) as images blending the colours and talismans associated with each angel in folklore with the suggestion of feathered wings, rather than humanoid depictions.

That’s not to say that any other representations are of any less value – perhaps the angels themselves chose to represent themselves in a way that we humans could connect with, as one consensus that most people can agree on is that angels are benevolent and seek to help us.

On the whole, they are androgenous beings, though some carry more masculine or feminine traits than others. Did you know, that despite our traditional view, Gabriel may well represent more of a feminine energy than a masculine? Gabriel is in fact the Angelic Guardian of the moon and Mondays (the weekdays governed by the moon). In mythology, whereas the sun is depicted as masculine, the moon is viewed as a feminine energy.

    Calling on Angels

Perhaps this is a particularly good time of year to call on angels to assist you with finding peace, and with receiving and offering good will. Especially this year when everything is in turmoil and constant flux.

However, you can in fact call on angels to assist you at any time of year, provided it’s for the highest good and you are respectful and appreciative of their loving intent, hence not asking them for anything which would harm others.

To find out more about connecting with angels in your day-to-day life, you can attend my Angels are not just for Christmas mini-workshop on Friday 17th November (Indigo Moon Holistics, Market Street, Guildford) or join us for our New Year New Moon New Vision online mentoring course.

thumbnail new year new moon new visionNew Year New Vision

Since this programme is aligned to a full lunar cycle, naturally Gabriel will have a prominent role. We work though the 28 Mansions of the Moon and concentrate on the attributes of each lunar phase to help us overcome hurdles and embrace new opportunities. During the course, you will be enriched with a deeper sense of how to immerse with nature whilst aligning your soul with the lunar cycle and the Pagan Wheel.

Assisted by angelic helpers, and building on tools including crystalline energy, vision boards and powerful healing techniques, you will feel reborn for the new year, with new focus, new energy and new divine intent. Starting on 11th January - a New Moon and time for powerful new beginnings!

Details at Joanna’s Harmony Healing website.

In the meantime, I’ll take this opportunity to wish you a happy, peaceful, and loving time, whatever your belief system and celebrations may be.

  • Annual Meteor Showers

Zikiel croppedMeteor Showers take place at the same sort of time every year, but what changes is the light conditions depending on proximity to the Full Moon (dates for this year listed under Angela McGerr's Full Moon Angelic Meditation with Gabriel)  or New Moon (dates for this year listed under New Moon Abundance Ritual). See below for chronological order of the annual showers. Two excellent sites for details each year are Earthsky Website - I usually use their excellent radiant point images (with permission from Deborah Byrd) and Time and Date. Both give great instructions for maximising your viewing opportunities.  I usually insert a link in the Harmony Blog to the correct page for the current shower, where is the links above are generic.

Watching meteors can be  a very therapeutic way to spend an evening. Choose the darkest spot available and check on one of the sites whether you are in location from where they can be seen (assuming minimal light pollution from street lights, large neighbouring towns etc.), the direction to look in (radiant point) and whether the best time for that shower is after midnight or just pre-dawn. When our girls were young, we would take some sun loungers out into the garden with hot drinks and duvets and lie outside for hours making some wonderful memories. The Perseids are the easiest ones to use for this as it's School Holidays and hopefully ambient weather, at least it should be here in the UK.  In the Southern hemisphere I guess the Quadrantids, Draconids or Orionids might be a better choice.

Remember, even if you can't see anything during a Meteor Shower, there will be an impact energetically.

You can invoke the Angel Zikiel (Angel Guardian of Meteors and Asteroids) to help bring in new ideas. The image of Zikiel (right) is by Richard Rockwood from Angela McGerr's Heart & Soul Angel Cards.

Zikiel guides the comets and meteorites in their eternal passage through space, tracking man's galactic origins. Zikiel therefore offers you a visionary flash of inspiration from the Sky.

You can invoke Zikiel by calling his name three times (pronunciation = Zick ee el) and adding 'I call upon you to be with me now, 'in love & light, in love & light, in love and light'.

If you have a clear quartz (or better still moldavite if you have any), you can programme it with Zikiel's name and keep it with you to help capture any inspiration thoughts channelled from the heavens tonight and also to help your heart to make the right choices.

This ritual is taken from Angela McGerr's An Angel For Every Day - now out of print and in very short supply.

However, we do still have some of Angela's out of print titles (generally also personally signed by her) and I do have limited 'pre-loved' copies of some titles available via Harmony Healing Shop.

Skywatching with other interested parties develops a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives.

Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians to bring balance and harmony. We have a number of virtual courses including monthly virtual healing circles (online event for personal and global healing plus Joanna endeavours to get everyone into a unity consciousness experience) and also Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Egyptian Alchemy Healing Level 1which is now fully available as interactive training modules, details on Harmony Healing Virtual Events. Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

If you are looking for spiritually enlightening activities during lockdown, Joanna offers distant intuitive readings (past life and/or aura readings) and distant 1-2-1 healings and virtual healing circles. We also have meditations available.

  • Aquariid Meteor Shower tonight, pre-dawn Sunday 5th/Monday 6th May

    eta aquarid shower

Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May is the ETA Aquariid Meteor Shower. Predominantly, this is a pre-dawn shower, which is one where the meteors may occur in the dark hour before dawn. Image of the radiant point is taken from the EarthSky Website.

The new Moon close to midnight on Saturday 4th May guarantees a darker sky. The best display will rain down on the mornings of the 5th (especially favourable because of the New Moon) and 6th May - just before dawn - but it's worth looking out for them on the morning of the 7th as well.

Even if you can't see anything, there will be an impact energetically.

Sunday 5th May, in 2019, is also the start of Ramadan, which begins at midnight. Ramadan is the Islamic remembrance of the reception of the divine revelation by Muhammad as recorded in the Qur'an. Complete fasting is observed from sunrise to sunset for 30 days, until Tuesday 4th June.

  • Calling all Lightworkers (Part 1), what we can do personally to make a global difference

VSA.logo.JPG"It’s easy to get disheartened over the sorry state of affairs – world pollution, ecological disaster, global warming, starvation, racial tension, corruption and now a pandemic; our media make us feel powerless, but is this really the case?

If, as many spiritual leaders believe, we create our own reality, then by implication we must take collective responsibility for this international chaos - surely even more reason to despair. However, various publications (notably The Secret, 2006) outlining the ancient Law of Attraction and further self-empowerment techniques paint a very different picture.

The Law of Attraction predicts that we attract into our lives whatever we spend our time focusing on. We are told it is down to a Universal Law, that the mind works to manifest whatever we seek. So, it is prudent to filter your thoughts and keep them positive and constructive".

....     article by Joanna Bristow-Watkins continued at THE VICKYSOUL ACADEMY Blog

Find out what you can do as a Lightworker, via my Guest Blog on THE VICKYSOUL ACADEMY (where I am a member of the teaching team, known as Tribe Leaders), linked below. I would like to post the entire article to my own Harmony Healing Blog, but as some of you will know Google - and other search engines - will identify it as a plagiarised article, even though it's my own work, because it's already published on another site.

This is part one of a series of articles I will be writing for the site on how we can make a difference to our own enlightenment, and by so doing, have a wider impact on human consciousness and improve the global predicament.

So please do visit THE VICKYSOUL ACADEMY website which you find a useful resource and where you will find other Guest Blogs from established and up-and-coming spiritual mentors. If you like the article, please do give it a heart and all shares and comments are welcome...

THE VICKYSOUL ACADEMY is dedicated to inspiring and igniting the shift in human consciousness, bringing balance and harmony into people's lives, synchronising perfectly with my Harmony Healing principles.

Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians, in the form of Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Egyptian Alchemy Healing, to bring balance and harmony. Full details of  Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 are on Harmony Healing Virtual Events.

If you would like to experience one of our spiritual offerings (meditation, reading, 1:1 healing, a Forest Bathing+ session or a full mentoring course), why not ask for a Harmony Healing gift voucherfor a Christmas, birthday or other celebratory occasion?

The next virtual healing circle is Monday 30th November at 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT), and costs £10 (+ £1 Paypal fee). During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. And, most importantly, it's a step towards making a difference to the global predicament.

We are also running a New Year New Vision mentoring programme through the first full lunar cycle of 2021. Aligning with the moon cycle is a massive part of what the ancients held as foundational for a healthy existence. This programme includes virtual gatherings, distant attunements to the Moon (New Moons on 13th January and 11th February plus Full Moon on Thursday 28th January), plus an Imbolc (1st February) ritual with the elements. The lunar month ends on the Chinese New Year of the Ox (11th February). Costing £111, it will be available to just 11 participants, more at the Harmony Website.

Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence MP3 meditations and distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

  • Calling all Lightworkers (Part 2), what we can do personally to make a global difference

    VSA.logo.JPG

    Calling all Lightworkers 21.12.2020

    By Joanna Bristow-Watkins, harmonyhealing.co.uk, December 2020

Last month, in Calling all Lightworkers - Part 1, we introduced the concept of Lightworkers and suggested some mindfulness exercises to try. We also discussed that, since we supposedly create our own reality, we must take collective responsibility for the current global disasters, and theoretically could potentially 'uncreate' the mess, too.

According to David Hawkins (author of Power Versus Force) and Owen Waters (author of The Shift: The Revolution in Human Consciousness), if the thoughts and emotions are emanating from more spiritually developed individuals, then the universal response is faster and more intense. Thus, the more enlightened we become, the stronger our influence. How uplifting to learn that we can make a positive difference to the world situation simply by working on our own consciousness. This is explained in our video

Furthermore, this positive intent can be amplified exponentially when like-minded people get together in focused groups, where the total output is much greater than the sum of the parts. This is especially true if the group meditation takes place at energy vortices or other sacred locations, but any group of Lightworkers meditating together has a profound influence on the planet as a whole and all its inhabitants.

Sacred sites and the chakras of the planet

Sacred sites are traditionally locations where the veil separating higher vibrational dimensions is thin. Often they are energy ‘hotspots’ positioned on junctions of ley-lines or electro-magnetic force fields.

Whilst our ancient forefathers were more adept at detecting these, some of us can still sense a tingling
sensation which undoubtedly fosters a ‘feelgood factor’,   particularly when tied-in with the opening of
new galactic portals;  dates when we all experience heightened energy vibrations.  These ley-lines and
energy hotspots form the meridians and chakra centres of the Earth.

Therefore, by focussing the intent for planetary healing from these, our efforts are amplified to create an entire global energy shift. You can compare this to focusing on a specific chakra of a client you’re working with, or on yourself.

Currently, we may not be able to easily travel to the more powerful sacred sites, but we can go somewhere local to us where we sense this ‘feelgood factor’, it could be a beautiful place in nature that we’ve previously discovered nurtures us and give us an emotional lift, perhaps somewhere with a stunning view or an ancient forest. Any location with spectacular scenery or woodland will give us that nature connection we all crave on a cellular level, where we can almost determine the moment-by-moment nourishing flow to our DNA and resulting boost to our immune system.

Disconnect from WiFi and reconnect with the forest

The absolute best therapy is to be found in ancient forest, where it has recently been scientifically demonstrated that the trees have created their own network of overlapping roots interconnected by a special ‘mycorrhizal’ fungus to produce their very own WoodWideWeb for inter-tree communication. Amazingly, trees have been creating their own network for millions of years. You could even say their ability to communicate through the ‘phytoncides’, which are the plant chemicals emitted from the trees, mean they invented their own form of WiFi many thousands of years before we caught up. Through these networks and signals, they share nutrition and even warn each other of incoming predators.

To build on the mindfulness exercises described in Part 1 of this Blog, here are some ideas to ‘plug in’ and connect better with nature and the woodwide web:

    • If It’s raining, relish in the cool sensation of the rain on your skin, taste the raindrops on your lips. Let the rain wash away stale emotions that aren’t serving you anymore. If it’s a cold windy day, whisper your troubles into the wind and watch them blow away.

    • See what smells you notice in the countryside. Wet soil can be very pungent, and a recent shower brings out the smell of nettles and hedgerows as well as aromatic herbs.

    • Next time you’re out and about, find a deciduous tree (these lose their leaves in the winter). Look up at the branches and see how many leaves, if any, are still clinging on. Marvel at the splendour of nature which allows the autumn leaves to absorb unwanted substances the tree needs to release therefore detoxing the tree as it departs.

    • Try standing next to your tree and touching its trunk with the palm of your hand. Concentrate on the texture of the bark, run your fingers slowly over the bumps and notice the contrast with the smoother areas. Imagine how it would feel to have such a solid exterior. See if you can sense how it would feel to have squirrels running up and down – pleasant and tickly or strange and scratchy.

    • Trees are constantly sending water and nutrients up and down inside of their trunks. See if you can sense any movement within it, are you able to ‘will’ yourself to visualise it?

    • Imagine what it would be like to be a tree, swaying in the breeze, but with a solid foundation. Try and picture how far the roots spread out underground. If you walk away from the tree can you sense when they end beneath your feet?

As you practice these skills regularly over time, you will find you become much more observant and you will start to feel intimately connected to nature rather than a by-stander.

    Recognising galactic portals

Earlier in 2020, we experienced a number of these galactic portals linked to numerologically significant dates, planetary alignments or co-ordinated global healing events. Adding up the digits of the year gives us a numerological frequency for the year, this 2020 is s ‘4’ year. The 4th April (April being the 4th month), as well as the 13th (adding the digits, 1+3 =4) and the 22nd (2+2 =4) this year, carried the triple frequency of the number four giving us a 4:4:4 in numerology.

According to spiritual leader Drunvalo Melchizedek, the fourth month of this year was a true demonstration of the qualities of the 4; Earth, structure, form, sharp unforgiving angles, rigidity, mastery, organisation, patience, strengthening of endurance, building solid foundations and practical protection. The '4' energy of April echoed the '4' energy of the year, both the higher aspects (20+20 adds up to 40 which reduces to 4) and the lower ones (2+0+2+0=4). Whenever an energy is repeated it is enhanced - the outcome of which can be observed in the current World situation.

In the UK, lockdown commenced 23rd March, so April was really the start of all the challenges for many.

    Rethinking our relationship with numbers

Until this year, most people saw 2020 as a positive. We use 2020 vision to denote perfection. It’s hard to imagine that what is playing out in the world right now is perfection. However, maybe it has given us an accurate vision of humanity, so we can change.

If we can use the prediction of 444 as the building of solid foundations, this is more encouraging.

In numerology within the healing community, 4 also represents the heart chakra, linking to love & creation.

444 indicates a higher spiritual purpose, and enhances energies that are currently around you. When
the energy of a number is echoed,  these  energies  are boosted.  In  angelology  444  represents  the
    opening of
the higher (sacred) heart to unconditional love and creation linked to the colour magenta.

Building on solid, heart centred foundations

How can we build on all this? I’ve long had a vision of an active network of caring spiritual individuals with a global mission, working together to promote love, light and harmony via virtual networks until we can meet again physically in sacred site locations and/or ancient forest.

Perhaps you would like to co-ordinate such a group in your area?

This was the drive for creating the Harmony Healing Mystery School. By definition, a Mystery School is a collective of ‘initiates’ who have dedicated themselves to protecting, preserving and perpetuating the mystery teachings. These teachings supply the keys to living an enlightened, enriched, and empowered life.

Throughout antiquity, Mystery Schools have hidden in plain sight, for those who seek. The initiates are Lightworkers who have been called to disseminate these teachings. They are also known as the Guardians, the Protectors, the Light bearers, the Teachers, the Healers, the Record Keepers, the Magicians, and the Watchers, among many other names.
The ancient and modern, for balance and harmony

This year, I’ve expanded my view with a modern twist. As a mirror to my practices, in which use I apply ancient wisdom for modern living, we can use modern technology to bring people together to tap into that ancient wisdom collectively.

Modern technology enables us to bring people together from anywhere in the world. Online platforms mean that we can auto-record our tutorials, so absentees can catch up on missed sessions or they can be re-watched. Once we’ve connected online, we can re-connect with each other offline. In this new reality since lockdown, I carry out my attunements virtually for all my students. I have had some wonderful testimonials, and they have had some profound experiences. Whilst I undertake group attunements in one sitting, students learn how they can pick theirs up at any time to suit them, from wherever they are.

We can apply these distant principles when working together in the future - when we are more able to move freely again. Perhaps I can be tuning in from an ancient site in the UK, while one of my students tunes in from their closest ancient site, far away on the other side of the world. The possibilities are many, and the future could be a truly better place for that.

In total harmony with Joanna's own principles, THE VICKYSOUL ACADEMY is designed to nurture this; an holistic education to support a core of dedicated Lightworkers who will become like a family, working (and when allowed again, travelling) together to unfold energies from sacred locations and connect to far distant memories; exchanging keys and codes between participants and the energetic nodes of the divine landscapes, opening portals of information within.Synchronicities are common; we have found ourselves performing ancient ceremonies with tribal elders in Egypt, as well as numerous unexpected treasures presented throughout every journey.

    555 for Spiritual expansion

We have another exciting energy portal occurring next year; with 2021 being a ‘5’ year, the 5th May (5th Month) will be a 555, where the digits of day, month and year each add up to 5.

In numerology five represents Spiritual Expansion, with the five-pointed star - or Microcosm - representing man's struggle towards spiritual enlightenment.
May is also the month of many celebrations, starting with Beltane, associated with fun lively festivals providing joy and laughter, we have an essential ingredient for spiritual growth. This is an exciting prospect in store for lightworkers and we are already working on our 555 meditation.

    Forthcoming Programmes

In the meantime, please join my monthly Full Moon Virtual Healing Circles (£11), 7.30-9.30pm on the night of the Full Moon (next one is Tuesday 29th December) where we jointly work though a mindful chakra healing programme, using colours and crystal energy, then connect above and below to the earth via the WoodWideWeb and the Sky via the heavenly bodies and constellations for a taste of Unity Consciousness and to add our lightworker efforts to the global healing needed for a bright future for us all.

For those wanting a deeper experience and to further connect with nature through the moon, I am running New Year New Vision mentoring programme 13th January to 11th February. This runs for a total lunar cycle from the first to the second New Moon of 2021 (11th February heralds in the Chinese New Year of the Ox) to connect with the different moon phases and 28 Mansions of the Moon via the individual angels of each Mansion. Cost is £111 and is for a maximum of 11 participants.

In February and March, we have new units of the Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Egyptian Alchemy Healing introductory modules. These comprise the Violet Flame of Amenti, Khemitology(Egyptology according to the indigenous tribal elders), Essene Angelology and Mindful Chakra Balancing & Unity Consciousness.

2021 will bring in the Energy of Expansion

On 21st December, 18 of us undertook a group Solstice Meditation to connect with the energy of the Solstice - a time when we move into longer daylight here in the northern hemisphere - and to celebrate the coming together of Saturn (harmony, balance & serenity, Angelic Guardian is Cassiel) and Jupiter (abundance, wisdom & kindness, Angelic guardian is Zadkiel) in our skies at the moment but came closest at 6-7pm GMT on the Solstice itself. This was the closest Jupiter-Saturn alignment since July 1623, but his conjunction was almost impossible to see, because of its proximity to the sun.

The last plain view close pairing of these two planets was in March 1226 - around the time Genghis Khan was conquering Asia!

Monday’s conjunction was the closest visible pairing since then. Sadly visibilty where I am in the UK wasn't favourable.

Many of those in our meditation circle had visions, and one saw a giant womb birthing a new era and another saw a beautiful white ocean stretching out to infinity.

One thing is for certain, for humanity as a whole, 2021 will surely be a step forward and I am looking forward to the expansion to our collective consciousness that the numerology promises.

March CF HH coloursAs we progress into April, a theme emerges which venerates spring, renewal and fertility as well as nourishment. Known for April Fool’s Day and April Showers, the month often hosts Easter, as it does this year. In the forest, we start to see (and smell) the beautiful bluebells, a marker of ancient woodland, which generally reach their full splendour in May.

The month of April was supposedly named after the Roman Goddess Venus (leading to Her Veneralia festival on 1st April), originally named Aphrilis after her equivalent Greek Goddess Aphrodite (Aphros) or the Etruscan version Apru. To the Anglo-Saxons, April was called Easter-mōnaþ "Easter Month", "Month of the Goddess Ēostre".  No prizes for guessing which Christian Festival took its name from this annual festival.

April begins with April Fool's Day plus the Roman Festivals of Veneralia & Fortuna Virilis, as well as Easter Monday also on 1st April. In the Roman calendar, April also hosted Magna Mater on the 4th & Floralia on 28th, widely believed to be connected to Beltane. April is also a month for some international awareness days including Autism Awareness Day on 2nd, World Health Day on the 7th and Earth Day on 22nd. In the UK, we celebrate St George's Day and Shakespeare's birthday on 23rd. For those who celebrate the chance to get outdoors, we have a Total Solar Eclipse on the night of 8th April (though not fully visible in the UK), the Lyrids Meteor Shower peaking, as usual 21st April, and Full Moon on Wednesday 24th at 00:48 (hence our Full Moon Meditation is evening of 23rd). We have our Forest Bathing public session at Harry Edwards Healing Sanctuary's private woodland (near Shere, Surrey) on Saturday 20th April when there should definitely be bluebells, of which there are thousands at Harry Edwards. We have Saturday 4th May reserved for anyone wanting to gather together a group for their own exclusive private bluebell session.

For a more in-depth analysis of the listed festivals and spiritually significant days, such as April Fool's Day and Veneralia, I publish a blog post on the day in question. Or to receive the information to your mail inbox, sign-up for Blog update alerts.

April FoolMonday 1st April is April Fool’s day.

A day for practical jokes, April Fools Day may originate from the move from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar.

This moved the start of the year almost three months, from the Spring Equinox to the start of January! Those who refused to recognise the new calendar and still saw April as the start of the year were labelled "April Fools".

Much about this in our specific Blog post on 1st April.

Veneralia Fortuna Virilis 1st AprilMonday 1st April, in addition to being April Fool’s Day, is also the Roman celebration of Veneralia and Fortuna Virilis.

Both celebrations seem loosely connected with Venus who is honoured on this day and whose advice is sought on matters of love.

Easter Monday 5th AprilMonday 1st April, in 2024, is also Easter Monday, this is Bank holiday in the UK.

As mentioned in an earlier Blog, whereas the Easter celebration in the UK is based on the Gregorian Calendar, the Orthodox Easter celebrations are based on the Julian Calendar. The Orthodox Church uses the Julian calendar to determine their holy days. Easter for the Orthodox Church will always fall sometime between April 4th and May 8th each year, this year it's really late, Friday 3rd May - Monday 6th May.

2nd April Autism Awareness DayTuesday 2nd Aprilis World Autism Awareness Day, taking place annually on April 2nd since 2008. It was set up to encourage Member States of the United Nations to raise awareness about autistic individuals throughout the world.

Whilst the United Kingdom celebrates Autism Awareness Week around World Autism Day, other countries, including the United States, celebrate World Autism Month throughout April.

A suggested way to demonstrate that you support people on the autism spectrum is to wear blue. This could be a special blue shirt you can purchase from a nonprofit like Autism Speaks or simply a blue ribbon or some blue clothing.

Thursday 4th April is Magna Mater in the Roman calendar.Magna Mater 4th April

This is the festival of Cybele, Phrygian Great Earth Mother. Her priests took on female clothes and identities to commemorate her lover (or in siome sources her son) Attis, who was castrated and died of the wounds but was later resurrected.

Lyrids 21st AprilSunday 21st (late) until dawn Monday 22nd April is the Lyrids Meteor Shower.

The Lyrids are an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at their peak.

These meteors can produce bright dust trails that last for several seconds. This year the shower peaks on the night of April 21st/22nd, although some meteors can be visible from April 16th - 25th.

Look for meteors radiating from the constellation of Lyra after midnight, the later you view in the morning of the 22nd, less meteors will be below the horizon and therefore more will be visible but as sunrise approaches light pollution will hamper viewing.

The proximity of the Full Moon on the 23rdApril, means light pollution could make viewing difficult, however there is a possibility of 10-15 per hour! See earthsky.com for more. Best time to watch: late evening to dawn on the nights of April 21st-22nd and 22nd-23rd.

Earth Day 22nd AprilMonday 22nd April is Earth Day, which is heralded as a pivotal opportunity for people, corporations and governments to join together to create a global green economy.

The theme for 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics. This calls to advocate for widespread awareness on the health risk of plastics, rapidly phase out all single use plastics, urgently push for a strong UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution, and demand an end to fast fashion, see more at earthday.org.

It is hoped that coordinated efforts now will be recognized by future generations as a turning point.

Shakespeares birthdayTuesday 23rd April is St George’s Day in England, celebrating England's patron saint, St George. England's National Day is celebrated on the anniversary of his death, which is on April 23rd.

Shakespeares birthdayAccording to legend, St George was a soldier in the Roman army who killed a dragon and saved a princess. The English flag is the red Cross of St. George, which is widely displayed as a symbol of national identity.

It's also supposedly Shakespeare's birthday and deathday.

However, 23rd April is not a Bank Holiday.

23 April Full Moon meditationTuesday 23rd April, 7.30-9.30pm UK time (GMT+1) is our Full Moon Unity Consciousness Meditation, as the Full Moon is happening in the early hours of Wednesday.

During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (£1 admin fee added for PayPal, concessions to RSE/VFoA graduates), book at the Harmony Shop.

This activity serves as a good taster of Joanna's work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. And, most importantly, it's a step towards making a difference to the global predicament. To find out how working on your own spiritual consciousness can help humanity and the planet by raising the overall human consciousness levels, see Joanna's You Tube explanation.

Pink Full MoonWednesday 24th April at 00:48 (Tuesday night/Wednesday morning) UK time (GMT+1), is :Pink Full Moon. We are holding our Full Moon Meditation the night before, see entry above. Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

For details of Full Moon timings for the year, as well as instructions for an Angela McGerr Angelic Meditation with Gabriel, see Harmony Healing Full Moon link.

Floralia 28th AprilSunday 28th Aprilis the Roman fertility festival of flowers and crops called Floralia, that later developed into celebration of sexuality, and may have influenced the subsequent celebrations for Beltane and May Day.

Bright coloured clothes are worn (if any!), races and shows are performed.

Beltane 30th AprilTuesday 30th April, is the Pagan Eve of Beltane; celebrations begin with people dancing around the fire clockwise, singing. Sometimes two fires are set, and cattle are driven between the fires to purify them.

Dew gathered from the grass at dawn is used in potions for luck and indeed it is believed to be lucky to roll naked in the dew!!!  On Beltane, it is traditional to drink from a well before sunrise.

Wash in the morning dew, and adorn yourself with greenery. Watch the sun come up, dance round the Maypole, and otherwise abandon yourself to the season.

Round Full Moon Cakes are eaten and blackberry, elderberry, dandelion wine or cider is drunk. Sacred springs are visited and healing water is drunk.

Autumn view squareDecember in Britain is the month with the least hours of daylight, but sunlight hours increase from 21st onwards, after the Winter Solstice. The increased daylight - promising optimism - is celebrated as Yule, and here in the UK, Christmas Day on the 25th, which pre-Christianity, in Roman times, was celebrated as the birth date of Sol Invictus (Roman Solar Deity).

Landscapes and gardens are skeletal now, except for the evergreens, looking charming when snow-covered and laced with spider's webs kissed by frost. Keep the shivers at bay with seasonal soups utilising Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, carrots, beetroot, parsnips, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, potatoes and winter squash. Enjoy nutty snacks from chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts. Late fruiting apples, pears and quince also remain plentiful together with mushrooms and black truffles.

The month of December was named after ''decem' meaning 10th in Latin, as November was the 10th month when the year started in March. To the Anglo-Saxons, December was called Ærra Gēolameaning “before Yule" or "First Yule".

During December, we can also look forward to the British Celtic Festival of Yule (Winter Solstice = 22nd December) followed by the Christian Festival of Christmas (25th) which is also the Zoroastrian Celebration of Zartosht-no Diso and St Stephens Day/Boxing Day (26th) plus two annual Roman FestivalsBona Dea (3rd) and Saturnalia (17th), Hannukah (7th-15th) and the month culminates with New Year's Eve (31st), celebrated as a two-day festival called Hogmanay in Scotland. We have a Forest Bathing event on Saturday 2nd (11am-1.30pm at Harry Edwards, Shere). Our Full Moon Meditation takes place 7.30-9.30pm (UK time) on Wednesday 27th, with the Cold Full Moon peaking earlier that  morning at 00:33. Aligning with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, and our next Lunar Alignment Programme commences with the New Moon on 11th January 2023.  We also have the Geminid Meteor Shower peaking 13th/14th.We have Forest Bathing and Harmony Healing vouchers available as Christmas gifts.

03 Dec Bona DeaSunday 3rd December is the Roman Festival of Bona Dea, this being a smaller festival than the one celebrated on 1st May but similarly for women only. In Roman mythology, Bona Dea (literally "the good goddess") was the goddess of fertility, healing, virginity, and women.

She was the daughter of the god Faunus and was associated with supplying medicinal healing herbs in her temple garden. Bona Dea was also invoked for freedom from slavery; many of her worshippers were freed slaves and plebeians, and many were women seeking aid in sickness or for fertility.

28 Nov HannukahThursday 7th - Friday 15th is the eight-day Jewish celebration of Hanukkah (or Chanukah).

Hanukkah is the wintertime “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, fried foods and special prayers.

12 Dec New MoonTuesday 12th December@ 23:32 is the New Moon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy. There are video instructions on my You Tube Page.

The New Moon is great time to create Vision Boards. How about creating one for 2024?

13 Dec Geminids 2Wednesday 13th - Thursday 14th December is the peak of the Geminid Meteor Shower. The Geminids are considered by many to be the best annual meteor shower and are known for producing multicoloured meteors 65% being white, 26% yellow, and the remaining 9% blue, red and green.

Rates typically peak at 100-120/hour; this high activity lasts for several hours. It is certainly possible to see 80-100 Geminids in a single hour, but only from a dark site! The Geminid Meteor Shower is expected to peak in activity on the night of December 13th-14th, although some meteors should be visible from December 7th – 21st. The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Gemini. Best viewing is usually to the east after midnight. The waning Gibbous Moon following the Full Moon early on 8th December will hamper viewing due to light pollution. Go to timeanddate.com  for further information.

17 Dec SaturnaliaSunday 17th December is the Roman Festival of Saturnalia. This was the popular banquet commemorating the dedication of the temple of the god Saturn. It was marked by tomfoolery and reversal of social roles, in which slaves and masters ostensibly switched places.

The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, in the Roman Forum, and a public feast, continual partying with private gift-giving, gambling and a celebratory atmosphere that reversed the usual Roman social norms with masters provided table service for their slaves. The poet Catullus referred to it as "the best of days."

Saturn was an agricultural deity who, in Roman Mythology, was associated with the Golden Age, when humans enjoyed the spontaneous bounty of the earth without labour in a state of innocence. Further information, courtesy of Wikipedia.

21 Dec Wnter SolsticeFriday 22nd December is the Pagan Solstice @ 03.27. It's the Winter Solstice here in the UK - the shortest day of the year with just 7 hours and 49 minutes daylight. The solstice itself is the moment the sun is shining farthest to the south, directly over the Tropic of Capricorn, so the time varies every year, between December 20th and 23rd.

The solstice marks the moment the sun shines at its most southern point and has been celebrated as a major Pagan festival, with rituals of rebirth, for thousands of years. Revellers gather at Stonehenge to watch the sunrise on the shortest day. Then, in the Northern Hemisphere, our days will gradually get longer until the summer solstice on Wednesday 21st June 2023 at 15:57.

Many of the traditions now associated with Christmas had their roots in Pagan Winter Solstice celebrations; including Yule logs, mistletoe and Christmas trees. The Druids  - an ancient Celtic order of priests, teachers, diviners and magicians who gleaned knowledge and enlightenment from sacred landscapes and ancient trees such as ‘Tutorial Oaks’ - used evergreen trees, holly and mistletoe to represent everlasting life. Druids would consider the cutting of trees as an offence against nature, but would decorate them with colourful rags tied on the branches.

25 Dec Xmas dayMonday 25th December is the Christian Festival of Christmas, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.26 Dec Boxing Day

This is also the Fasli Zoroastrian Calendar is Zartosht-no Diso, commemorating the anniversary of the death of the prophet Zarathustra.

Tuesday 26th December is St Stephen’s Day in the Christian Calendar, also known as Boxing Day.

Boxing Day is so named because traditionallyit was a day off for servants, when they received a special Christmas box from their masters and would also go home on Boxing Day to give Christmas boxes to their families.

27 Dec Full Moon meditationWednesday 27th Decemberis our Full Moon Unity Consciousness Meditation, 7.30-9.30pm UK time (GMT/UT). This is the night before Full Moon takes place at 04:09 on the 8th.

During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. This activity serves as a good taster of Joanna's work in general. For more details and to book, see Harmony Shop.

19 Dec Full Moon in Dec

Wednesday 27th December is the Cold Full Moon at 00:23.

Between this date and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body. A brilliant time for oil pulling.

Sunday 31st December is New Year's Eve and Hogmanay in Scottish tradition.

Many Scots had to work over Christmas because celebrations were virtually banned in Scotland for around 400 years, from the end of the 17th century to the 1950s.

31 Dec Happy New YearThe Protestant Reformation led to the Presbyterian outlook, branding Christmas as a Popish or Catholic feast which was therefore prohibited.  As a result, their winter solstice celebrations took place at New Year when family and friends gathered for a party and exchange presents, especially for the children, which came to be called Hogmanay. Historians believe that the Vikings who, coming from even further north than the UK, paid strong attention to the passing of the shortest day and hence may have initiated the post-Solstice celebrations.  Image of fireworks over Edinburgh Castle by Chris Flexen.

There is no definitive view on the origins of the word Hogmanay. Many Scottish words have derived from Flemish, so one popular view is that Hogmanay came from hoog min dag which means great love day, whereas the Scandinavian word Hoggo-nott described the feast preceding Yule (itself a Scandinavian word commonly used in Shetland where the Scandinavian influence was strongest).

Alternatively, Hogmanay could source from the Anglo-Saxon, Haleg monath, Holy Month, or the Gaelic for new morning, oge maidne. Phonetically, a good candidate night be the similar sounding French expression Homme est né which means Man is born. Also, in France the last day of the year when gifts were exchanged was aguillaneuf, though specifically in Normandy presents given at the year-end were hoguignetes.

In Scotland a similar practice to that in Normandy was noted, rather disapprovingly, by the Church.

"It is ordinary among some Plebians in the South of Scotland, to go about from door to door upon New Year`s Eve, crying Hagmane." Scotch Presbyterian Eloquence, 1693.

Common Scottish practices on 31st December, before midnight, involve a thorough cleaning of the house (including taking out the ashes from the coal fire) plus the superstition to clear all your debts. Immediately after midnight, the long-held tradition to sing Robert Burns's For Auld Lang Syne has now evolved into a popular international custom.

Many areas of Scotland often developed their own local Hogmanay rituals such as the fireball swinging rituals in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, in northeast Scotland. Chicken wire structures - filled with old newspaper, sticks, rags, and other dry flammable material  - are attached to lengths of wire, chain or non-flammable rope. When the Old Town House bell marks the New Year, the balls are set alight and the celebrants set off along a heritage route, swinging the burning balls around their heads as they go. At the end of the ceremony, any fireballs that are still burning are cast into the harbour.

01 Jan New Years DayMonday 1st Januaryis New Year’s Day and is a Bank Holiday in the UK and time for New Year’s Resolutions!

31 Dec Quadrantid MeteorsMonday 1st – Friday 5th January (peaking on the 3rd, 4th January) is the Quadrantids Meteor Shower; visible from 1st – 5th January after midnight and peaking in the early hours of the 4th. With the appraching Full Moon on 6th January, there could be too much light pollution to see much. Typically, 40 or so bright, blue and fast (25.5 miles per second) meteors will radiate from the constellation Bootes, some blazing more than halfway across the sky. A small percentage of them leave persistent dust trains. This shower usually has a very sharp peak, usually lasting only about an hour.

The particles that cause the Quadrantid meteor show originate from the asteroid 2003 EH1 an asteroid that is probably a piece broken off from an obsolete comet. Since the orbit of 2003 EH1 is highly inclined to the orbit of the Earth, the Earth passes through it very quickly. Thus, the Quadrantid meteor shower is an extremely short one, lasting only a few hours.

Celestial Forecast Website slider final ImageFebruary in Britain sees the steady increase of daylight hours leading us towards spring, but air temperature remains unpredictable with this often presenting as the coldest month of the year with reasonable chance of snow. Look out for snowdrops poking through the soil, together with the yellow, white and violet of crocuses (or croci, apparently both plural forms are acceptable). The subtle aroma of witch hazel blossoms may linger. and the pretty white flowers of the wood anemone, known as an indicator of ancient woodland (rather like bluebells come May), may also appear but it's still early for them. Local ponds should be full of frogspawn, as well as similar gelatinous spawns laid by toads and newts.

The month of February was named after the Roman God Februa(sometimes called Februus) and his annual Roman springtime festival of purification and cleanliness. To the Anglo-Saxons, February was called 'Sōlmōnath', derived from 'sōl' - an Old English word for wet sand or mud. However, according to medieval scholar Bede, it relates to the month when ritual offerings of loaves of bread and savoury cakes were typical to ensure a good year’s harvest.

Thursday 1st & Friday 2nd February is the Pagan Imbolc Ceremony, which is one of the four Great Celtic Festivals, and which is a Wiccan and Druid Festival of Fertility and Growing Light. Imbolc (pronounced EE-molk) is the old Celtic word; the celebration is also known as Candlemas (the latter is generally celebrated 2nd February). See entry below.

Friday 2nd FebruaryjoinJoanna and Sarah-Jane Dennis (Priestess of Avalon) for our Water Ceremony & Imbolc Celebration, 7.30-9.30pm (UK time), £20.  Imbolc shutterstock 114601966 Pagan wheelis sacred to the Goddess Brigit, Brigid or Bridie, the power of the new moon, the Spring of the year, the flowing sea, corn dollies and the Great Moon Mother - Patroness of Poetry Making and Healing. Brigit is a triple Goddess, so she can be honoured in all her aspects, she is associated with fire, fertility, midwifery and the young.

Imbolc Image by Antonia SkeltonThe Imbolc Festival marks the passing of Winter and the first signs of Spring, with the emergence of new leaves and early flowers such as the snowdrop and crocus, as well as being the transition point of the threefold Goddess energies from those of the Crone to the Maiden.

Imbolc is a Fire Festival and it is traditional, at sunset, to briefly light every light in the house. Or light candles in each room to celebrate the return of the sun. If it's been snowing, take time to enjoy walking in the snow, draw an image of the sun into the snow and reflect on the sun's warmth.

Traditional foods for Imbolc include anything dairy, including sour cream, as the festival celebrated the calving season. Spicy and rich foods, such as curry or anything made with peppers, leeks, onion, chives and/or garlic are appropriate to celebrate the sun, together with mulled wine and anything containing raisins which also represent the sun.

It's also a good time to clear clutter and look at what you want to achieve this year and ask Brigit's help in making it happen. Book the Imbolc Celebration at the Harmony Shop.

Setsubun hiragi iwashi ward away evil spritsSaturday 3rd February is Setsubun Bean-Throwing Festival, which is the day before the beginning of Spring in Japan.

The name literally means "seasonal division", but usually the term refers to the Spring Setsubun, celebrated yearly on February 3rd as part of the Spring Festival and accompanied by a special ritual to cleanse away all the evil of the former year and drive away disease-bringing evil spirits, or naughty ogres or spirits called ‘Oni’ for the year to come.

Why bean throwing? Families celebrate by scattering roasted soybeans outside the door of their house to chase out the oni (naughty ogres or spirits).

They may also throw soybeans at a member of the family dressed as an Oni. If lockdown life is getting you all a bit stir-crazy, maybe chucking beans at each other is a good way to let off some steam!

The image by Antonia Skelton, for Harmony Healing, shows items placed on a house to keep bad spirits away.

Friday 9th February @ 22:59 is New Moon and it's also a Super New Moon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy. Image by Harmony Healing.

It is a good day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2024. Harmony Healing provides a Vision Board template and periodically we offer a lunar cycle mentoring programme.

Our current New Year New Vision moon connection programme ends today, with an Equilibrium Attunement to energetically align participants with the Sun, Moon, planet Earth, the constellations, the current Zodiac of Pisces. The New Year New Moon New Vision Course ends 9th/10th February with an Equilibrium Attunement  (see YouTube video 'What Exactly is an Attunement?), which is usually available as a stand-alone purchase for £55, but I have it on offer for £44 (50% concession to my students), go to Harmony Shop to reserve your place.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the New Moon (good for starting new projects) and Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

Chinese New Year w gold & rabbitSaturday 10th February, following the New Moon on the 9th February, Year of the Water Rabbit comes to a close and we progress into the Year of the Wood Dragon, which will last until 28th January 2025. A Dragon is a mythological creature and all Chinese legends about dragons, describe them as coming from the sky, which represents heaven, hence in China Dragon is a symbol of heavenly power. Dragon is viewed as a noble and untouchable beast with occult and mystical connotations. According to Chinese energy expert, Nicholas Haines, since Dragons are mythological creatures, they bring messages to remind us what we came to earth to do. And. that is to be our authentic self, so this will be the theme of 2024.  The wood energy brings in justice and the control of chaos, whereas the Dragon energy supports ambition, confidence, power and idealism.  It sounds like an interesting year!

Red is an auspicious colour and can be worn to bring energy, luck & happiness.

The Chinese calendar rotates through 60-year cycles based on 12 earthly branches, each represented by an animal year, as well as five element years which are wood, fire, earth, metal and water. 2022 was the year of the Water Tiger, 2023 was the Year of the Water Rabbit. We move into the wood element this year with the Wood Dragon. Each earthly branch is characterised, on a deeper level, by a yin or yang force and its own element.

In order, the 12 zodiac animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Hence the sign of the Dragon is the fifth animal of the Chinese zodiac and, with its strong yang energy, represents success and prosperity in their culture. 2024 is predicted to be a Year of Authenticity.

In Chinese culture, homes are thoroughly cleaned at the New Year to sweep away old ill fortune to make room for coming good luck, and fireworks are set off, and red (sometimes with gold) is worn to ward off evil monsters and bad luck.

Collop Monday 15thMonday 12th February, this year is Collop Monday, also known as Shrove Monday. It's the day before Shove Tuesdayand isn't widely observed, but it is a similar frugal tradition to the consumption of eggs in the form of pancakes to use them up before the start of the fasting period of Lent.

As described in an extract from the Nottingham Evening Post, 1931, Collops are chunks of cured meat (such as bacon) or leftover roasted meat, so this involves using up any remaining meat in the household before Lent.

In Cornwall, it's known as Peasen Monday because pea soup was the traditional dish of the day. Image by Harmony Healing.

Shrove Tuesday 16thTuesday 13th February is Mardi Gras, also known as Shrove Tuesday, or within the UK as Pancake Day. Being the final day before Lent, this was traditionally a day for confessing sins and using up all the foods banned during the Lent fast. With pancakes containing butter and milk, they became associated with the date.

The verb 'shrive' means to gain absolution for one's sins through confession and/or penance. Hence Shrove Tuesday is derived from the tradition that Christians were 'shriven' before Lent.

The date of Lent - which takes place in either February or March but always seven weeks before Easter - varies from year to year according to the lunar calendar which determines when Easter falls.

Interestingly, as with many Christian Festivals, there is a theory that Pancake Day might actually have originated as a Pagan holiday; when eating warm, circular yellow pancakes - resembling the sun - celebrated the arrival of spring. Image by Harmony Healing.

Ash Wednesday 17thWednesday 14th Februaryis Ash Wednesday this year, which is generally said to have been named after the tradition of burning away old issues in preparation for Lent.

The date of Lent - which takes place in either February or March but always seven weeks before Easter - varies from year to year according to the lunar calendar which determines when Easter falls.

However, Ash Wednesday could have obtained its name from an apparent tradition of placing a stick of Ash down one's sock for good luck!  Ouch, I can't see that being popular, but then maybe the choice of stick, regarding size and shape, is paramount!

Tuesday 14th February is, of course, also  Valentine's Day and is all about love and compassion, which includes Universal Love for all other living things and also Self-love which is so often overlooked. Some bitterly refer to it as Singles Awareness Day and blame card manufacturers and our materialistic society for love being ritualistically forced upon us every year at this time.

Copy of Valentine optionsHowever, although the story of 'Saint' Valentine long precedes Hallmark et al, the origins are somewhat blurred as there are historical references to the existence of several different Valentines. Folklore indicates that Valentine was a priest during the third century in Rome. Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage as he believed that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families. Valentine, however, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages in secret. Claudius found out and Valentine was imprisoned, where one version of the legend indicates he befriended a jailer with a blind daughter and he may have somehow managed to restore her sight, resulting in the jailer converting to Christianity. Claudius ordered that Valentine be executed on February 14th and allegedly before his death sentence was carried out, he sent a note to the jailer's daughter and signed it, "From Your Valentine." Hence Valentine's Day is celebrated in his memory.

However, his death day and his association with lovers and notes may have been convenient for Roman Christians looking for ways to blend existing Pagan/Roman celebrations into their Calendar. Image by Harmony Healing.

Thursday 15th February is Fritter ThursdayAccording to The Free DictionaryFritter Thursday took its name from the custom of eating apple fritters, which were fruit-filled cakes deep-fried in fat, on this day.

    Fritter Thursday 18th

I was surprised that this would be an acceptable dish once Lent had commenced (as 'fritter' suggests batter which would contains egg and milk) and on further research I discovered that in Lancashire (source: lep.co.uk) traditionally ‘Shrovetide’ meant the three days before Lent and comprosed of ‘Collop Monday’, ‘Pancake Tuesday’ and ‘Fritters Wednesday’ (rather than Thursday) with the fritters being sliced apples fried in batter. Image by Harmony Healing.

Lupercalia image from WikipediaThursday 15th February is also Lupercalia in Ancient Roman tradition.

Apparently, this was the popular ceremony of fertility, featuring naked men running through the street!

I can’t see this catching on in the UK climate!

Roman images show men dressed as dogs (or possibly Wolves since Lupus meant Wolf) and goats, Cupid and other personifications of fertility.

Hence, some say this ceremony was the precursor for Valentines' Day. Image by Harmony Healing.

Kissing Friday image optionsFriday 16th February is Kissing FridayAccording to historic.co.uk, this bizarre custom was especially popular in the Victorian and Edwardian period and only died out in the mid-20th century.

Although unthinkable these days, a schoolboy could kiss a girl on this day without fear of repercussions.

Of course, first of all the girl had to be caught and in some instances this involved tying ropes across the street and passing girls would have to pay a kiss for safe passage across the rope.

Others would simply chase the girls until they caught them. Indeed, Kissing Fridaywas also the one day every year when girls could leave school early, to avoid being chased home by the boys.

In the Leicershire village of Sileby, this day was called Nippy Hug Day. Here, if the girl actively resisted a kiss, the boy could 'louse' (pinch) her bottom, a disturbing reference to the action of pinching off lice. Image by Antonia Skelton.

CaristiaWednesday 22nd February is the Roman Festival of Caristia.

This was a Feast Day occasion of family reunion, when Roman fathers would pay special attention to their families.

It was a day of reconciliation when disagreements were to be set aside, but the satirical poet Ovid apparently suggested this would be best achieved by excluding family members who caused trouble.

Families gathered together to dine and offer food and incense to the Guardian Deities, collectively known as Lares. Image by Harmony Healing..

Leap Day Image by Peter LomasThursday 29th February is a Leap Day.

During Leap Years, such as 2024, an extra Leap Day - or Intercalary Day - is added on 29th February.

Although officially introduced by Pope Gregory XIII, by a decree signed in 1582, this auspicious date is recognised in the Pagan, Gaelic and Celtic traditions as one on which ladies may propose to their beloveds.

January Celestial Forecast is readyJanuary in Britain is the month when our daylight hours continue to extend bringing positivity and hope. Whereas December benefits from warmth still trapped in the land, the chill of our tilt away from the sun toward dark, cold space is felt now in January. The landscape still presents a stark beauty with occasional evergreens and frost is a regular morning visitor. Warm up with bashed neeps (turnips) and/or swede, together with carrots, beetroot, garlic, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kohl rabi, cabbage, kale, potatoes and winter squash.

The month of January was named after the Roman God ''Janus', who had two faces so he could see the past and the future and was also the god of doors. Interestingly, traditional New Year celebrations involved the door being flung open at midnight to let out the old year with the banging of saucepans to send it on its way. Nothing was taken out of the door on New Years Day, not even empty bottles from the revelries of the night before! To the Anglo-Saxons, January was called Æftera Geola, or “After Yule”.

January begins with New Year Day (1st), which in Scotland extends into January 2nd and is called Hogmanay (see December Celestial Forecast for more). In the night sky the month, we have the Quadrantid Meteors peaking 3rd & 4th and the constellation of Orion is very prominent. We can look forward to the traditional British Festivals of Epiphany (6th) and Plough Monday (8th) plus the Hindu Celebration of Makara Samkranti (15th) and the Annual Scottish Burns Night (25th).We have our only Harmony in Nature Woodland Therapy (Forest Bathing) event this month 11am-1.30pm on Sunday 21st January at Harry Edwards in Shere (Surrey). To assist with therapeutic and abundant alignment with the moon cycle, our next Lunar Alignment Programme commences with the New Moon on Thursday 11th January and runs until Friday 9th/Saturday 10th FebruaryOur Full Moon Meditation takes place 7.30-9.30pm (UK time) on Thursday 25th, with Wolf Full Moon peaking at 17:54. We have Forest Bathing and Harmony Healing vouchers available as gifts.

2024 is a Leap Year and an 8 year in numerology. This means the the digits of 2024 add up to 8. The number 8, being the infinity symbol on its side, represents the infinite forever conscious part of our soul, higher realsm of consciousness and our infinite journey. The number 8 is also connected with abundance and strength, According to creative numerologyAn 8 year is a time to develop personal power. It is a journey of true understanding, reward, balance, and achievement. 8 is the number of power, material and financial gain, achievement, reward, status, and satisfaction. The 8 Year vibration will provide the means – the personal power – with which to change the status quo and accomplish a significant goal that will alter the direction and quality of your journey.

According to London Astrologer Tanya Cohen, Jupiter starts to move forwards on New Year’s Eve, having been retrograde for five months. This bodes well for the future and suggests that we could be ending the year on a high note. Mercury will turn direct on New Year’s Day and Pluto will move into Aquarius on 21st January. All the planets in the sky will be moving forwards from the end of January until the end of April. This is when we can finally start putting some of our plans into action.

31 Dec Happy New YearMonday 1st Januaryis New Year’s Day and is a Bank Holiday in the UK and time for New Year’s Resolutions!

Quadrantids from Earthsky.orgMonday 1st – Friday 5th January (peaking on the 3rd, 4th January) is the Quadrantid Meteor Shower; visible from 1st – 5th January after midnight and peaking in the early hours of the 4th. Typically, 40 or so bright, blue and fast (25.5 miles per second) meteors will radiate from the constellation Bootes, some blazing more than halfway across the sky. A small percentage of them leave persistent dust trains. This shower usually has a very sharp peak lasting only about an hour.

The particles that cause the Quadrantid Meteors originate from the asteroid 2003 EH1, an asteroid that is probably a piece broken off from an obsolete comet. Since the orbit of 2003, EH1 is highly inclined to the orbit of the Earth, the Earth passes through it very quickly. Thus, the Quadrantid meteor shower is an extremely short one, lasting only a few hours.  With the Full Moon on Friday 6th January, there could be limited viewing this year. See earthsky.org for more details.

Saturday 6th January is 12th Night - or Epiphany - in the Christian Calendar.6th January 12th Night or Epiphany

The day when traditionally the Christmas Tree and other decorations should be removed until the following year.

Plough Monday the Monday after EpiphanyMonday 8th January is Plough Monday in England!

Traditionally Plough Monday (the Monday after Epiphany when The Zoroastrian Magi visited the infant Jesus) is the day for setting aside the remnants and excesses of Christmas and "putting one's hand to the plough"; in other words, starting work on a project of some sort.

A traditional delicacy from Norfolk, eaten on Plough Monday, is known as 'Plough Pudding', which is a boiled meat, onions and suet pudding.

thumbnail new year new moon new visionThursday 11th January to Saturday 10th Februaryis Joanna's Harmony Healing New Year New Moon New Vision 2024 initiative to reconnect with nature through closer alignment with the lunar cycle. This is achieved by working through the 28 Mansions of the Moon with the unique angel guardian of each lunar mansion.

New Year New Vision costs £177 and is a mentoring programme with Joanna running for the complete first lunar month of the new year (from New Moon to New Moon).  Generous rate reduction for RSE students and course repeaters.

The benefits will include creating a close-knit community (possibly international) and new friends with whom to start your year with abundant and fun rituals to rekindle your zest for life. The outcome is a more calm and centred demeanour with positive direction and excitement for 2024. See informational YouTube video or  Harmony Healing website for more information and testimonials from a previous New Year initiative.

Moon Scarletts shotThursday 11th January is New Moon @ 11:57 and the start of our New Year New Vision Lunar Cycle Alignment Programme. Forget resolutions, set intentions for 2024!

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy.

There are video instructions on my You Tube Page.

It is a fabulous day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2024.

makar 1 14 JanuaryMonday 15th Januaryis the Hindu Celebration of Makara Samkranti, which is the Winter Festival of the reborn sun.  It is traditional to wear yellow clothes and eat yellow food. Bathing in sacred waters, lighting bonfires, kite flying, dancing and offering prayers are also traditional activities over this festival, with rural children going from house to house, singing and asking for treats.

Most ancient Hindu festivals are observed according to lunar cycles, whereas Makar Sankranti is one of the few set by the solar cycle.

This means it falls annually on the same Gregorian calendar date (14th January), except on occasional years (Leap Years such as 2024) when the date shifts by a single day, because of the complexity of earth-sun relative movement.

Burns Night 25 JanuaryThursday 25th January is Burns Night in Scotland. Burns Night is a revered date in the Scottish calendar and celebrates, on the anniversary of his birthday, the life and works of their national Bard, Robert Burns.

Born over 250 years ago; some consider his best-known poem as ‘Auld Lang Syne’, though others believe he did not write it himself, but was the first person credited with writing it down for posterity as part of his attempt to preserve Scottish traditional songs.

The evening centres on the entrance of thehaggis (a type of sausage made from a sheep's stomach) on a large platter to the sound of ceremonial bagpipes. When the haggis is on the table, the host reads the "Address to a Haggis". This is an ode that Robert Burns wrote to the Scottish delicacy! At the end of the reading, the haggis is ceremonially sliced into two pieces and the meal begins.

The same date isSt Dwynwen’s Day in Wales. St Dwynwen is the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine, being their patron saint of love.

March CF is hereDuring March, we can look forward to extended daylight and the awakening of nature, especially in the forest. As well as new green buds and sprouts on the trees, we start to see new growth at ground level, with a plethora of camelias, hellabores, daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths and daphne; some with a lovely subtle fragrance. And even where trees have fallen this last week, following three successive violent storms here in the UK, it will be amazing to observe the speed with which new saplings will appear to fill the spaces.

The Roman Calendar originally started in March and the month was named after Mars, the Roman God of War. To the Anglo-Saxons, March was called 'Hrēðmonath', named after a pagan fertility Goddess called 'Hreða' (also known as Rheda).

March begins with the Welsh celebration of St David's Day as well as the Roman Festival of Matronalia. March was a busy month in the Roman calendar, indeed, there’s even a festival for Roman Matrons (older married women) to celebrate by turning the household hierarchy of their day on its head. March is also a month for celebrating women in the modern calendar, with International Women’s Day (8th), Mothering Sunday (26th) and the celebration of numerous goddesses, Egyptian (5th & 20th) and Roman (1st, 15th, 17th & 19th). The Irish celebrate on 17th with St Patrick's Day. This year we have Easter 29th March - 1st April (different for Orthodox Easter).

We have Nature ConnectionForest Bathing events scheduled this month on the 17th at Harry Edwards, (Shere, Surrey).

For a deep dive into the ‘whys and wherefores’ of the listed festivals and spiritually significant days, I publish a blog post on the day in question. Or to receive the information to your mail inbox, sign-up for Blog update alerts.

Full Moon is Monday 25th March, peaking at 07:00. There's no Full Moon Guided Meditation this month, because I will be at the site of Stalag Luft III WWII POW camp (now in Poland) for the 80th Anniversary of the Great Escape.  I am giving two addresses to an assembly of RAF Officers relating to my father's POW experiences at the camp.

St Davids Day 1st MarchFriday 1st March is St David’s Day. St. David, Dewi Sant, is the patron saint of the Welsh, and 1st March, his feast day, is celebrated as a patriotic and cultural festival in Wales.

Saint David, Grandson of the King of Ceredigion, was said to have been born on a clifftop during a fierce storm. He died on this day during the year 500. He grew up to be a celebrated Bishop and founder of monastic settlements and churches. Glastonbury Abbey may have been founded by St David.

So why is David associated with a dragon? There is a myth that when David was asked by villagers to slay a dragon, he instead went to visit the dragon and listen to its sad tale.

Matronalia 1st MarchFriday 1st March is also Matronalia, according to Roman tradition, which was the topsy-turvy feast sacred to Juno, the birth Goddess.

It was also a celebration of marriage, and the peace that these unions could usher in between Romans and Sabini, tribes from the mountain region near the Tibor.

The Roman mistress of the house waited on her servants for the day and presents were given to other people’s partners!

The wives of the house also gave a feast for their female slaves.

    5th March Ploiaphesia framed

Tuesday 5th March is Ploiaphesia, Egyptian Festival of Navigation. This was when one of the most important festivals of the Egyptian Goddess Isis was celebrated, the Ploiaphesia or Navigium Isidis (Ship of Isis).

The festival marked the opening of the safe sailing season after the stormy weather of winter had passed. A statue of Isis was carried in procession from her temple down to the harbour, where a specially-built ship was moored. The ship would then be loaded with offerings and dedicated to the Goddess, before being launched and carried out to sea by the wind.

The festival is described by Apuleius in his Metamorphoses (also known as the Golden Ass). To participate you can enjoy the energy of water and celebrate with processions, lights, mirrors, music and flowers. We have informative Egyptian Deity Posters available for sale from the Harmony Shop. explanation.

IWD 8th MarchFriday 8th March is International Women’s Day; a day designated to celebrate the empowerment of women worldwide.

The theme for International Women's Day 2024 is Inspire Inclusion. From the website:

When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.

And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.

Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.

See the International Women’s Day website for more. Or for other inspiring ideas,seewomenforwomen.org.

04 Nov New Moon SupermoonSunday 10th March @ 09:00 is New Moon. It's also a Supermoon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon. It needs to be after the New Moon because the moon should be waxing (getting bigger again) to carry the manifestation energy. Image by Harmony Healing.

There are video instructions on my Facebook Page or You Tube Page.

It is a good day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2024. Harmony Healing proviides a Vision Board template and periodically we offer a lunar cycle mentoring programme.

Mothers Day 14thSunday 10th March is also Mothering Sunday in  the UK, now viewed as a chance to recognise the positive role of mothers in our lives.

Often posies of daffodils are presented.

Mothering Sunday is celebrated by Christians  in the UK & Ireland and some other English speaking countries. It takes place on the fourth Sunday in Lent, which is exactly three weeks before Easter Day.

It was once observed as a day when people visited their mother church, but has become a day for honouring mothers and exchanging presents with them. Increasingly it's being referred to as Mother's Day, although that name originated as an American secular holiday, celebrated on a different date and quite distinct from the initial UK based Mothering Sunday.

Friday 15th March was the Ides of March in Roman tradition and a Festival to Jupiter. Anna Perenna etc. 15th

Shakespeare had a soothsayer warn Julius Caesar 'Beware the Ides of March'. Indeed he was reputedly assassinated on 15th March 44 BC.

In Ancient Rome, 15th March was also the celebration ofAnna Perenna.

Offerings were made to the Spirit of the Year, so that the circle could be completed.

Forest Bathing at Harry Edwards Healing Sanctuary, SurreySunday 17th March,11am - 2pm, Forest Bathing in the grounds of Harry Edward's Healing Sanctuary, £39.77.

Usually at this time of the year, the site is carpeted with daffodils. Immerse yourself in the healing elements of nature and connect deeply with all your senses. Spend three hours in the woods mindfully connecting to your surroundings and living fully in the present moment, guided by me in simple sensory exercises and a treelaxtion. A deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience, and which, despite the title forest bathing, does not involve any swimming!

Some of the scientifically proven benefits of spending time in woodland include reduced stress levels, stronger immune system response, and a stabilised cortisol cycle.

This session which will take place in all weathers except very strong winds or electrical storms. Book via our the Harmony Healing shop. Email  to go on our forest bathing mailing list.

St Patricks Day used 2021Sunday 17th March is St Patrick’s Day in Ireland. St Patrick is credited with converting the Irish back to Christianity which had been abandoned under Roman rule.

Saint Patrick is said to have used the Shamrock (three leaved clover) as a metaphor for the Christian Trinity.

The name shamrock comes from the Irish word seamróg, which is derived from the Irish word for clover (seamair) and means simply "little clover" or "young clover".

Liberalia 17 MarchSunday 17th March was also the Roman Festival of Liberalia, this was the feast to celebrate the male coming of age!

In view of the date coinciding with St Patrick's Day, having abandoned Christianity under Roman rule, I wonder if there is a connection that when Eire re-converted to Christianity they chose the Roman Festival for males coming of age as their date of celebration...

Considering the theme of rebirthing and the Spring Equinox, I can't help wondering if it was a development from the Egyptian Pelusia Festival, see 20th March entry.

Tuesday 19th Marchis the Roman Festival of Quinquatrus,so named because it was the 5th day after the Ides of March. Quinquatrus 19th March

This was a Festival in honour of Minerva; it seems that women were accustomed to consult fortune-tellers and diviners upon this day.

At one time, celebrations took place 19th - 23rd of March, orginally an Etruscan festival to celebrate spring, rites of women, rebirthing and the Spring Equinox. I can't help wondering if it was a development from the Egyptian Pelusia Festival, see 20th March entry.

Pagan EquinoxWednesay 20th March is Spring Equinox at 03:06. On the Equinox, light and dark are equal over the whole world: mark the moment of the Equinox with silence and stillness.

Representing balance of opposites; it's a good time to bring balance into your life.

Pelusia 20thMonday 20th March is the Egyptian Festival of Pelusia, with the Egyptian Goddess Isis working her spring magic to ensure the flooding of the Nile later in the year, thereby guaranteeing a fruitful harvest.

We have informative Egyptian Deity Posters available for sale from the Harmony Shop.

IDF image 2Thursday 21st March is International Day of Forests, sponsored by the United Nations. The theme for 2024 is ‘Forests and Innovation’.

Forests are home to more that 60,000 tree species; comprising about 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity.

In fact, 1.6 billion people are directly dependent on forests for their shelter, food, medicines, income and energy.  Alarmingly, we are losing around 10 million hectares of global forest annually (the size of Iceland) and this is said to account for 12-20% of greenhouse gas emissions thought to contribute to our climate change.

As a qualified Forest Bathing guide, I am delighted to see Forests being recognised for their wellbeing benefits and valuable biodiversity and efforts being made to protect dwindling international woodlands.

Alec Bristow the Great EscapeSunday 24th March,80 years ago today, during the night of 24 March 1944, 76 airmen escaped out of the Prisoner of War camp Stalag Luft III. The event was immortalised by the 1963 Hollywood blockbuster The Great Escape, which was partly fictional but a surprising amount of astounding activities depicted in the film were based on fact. Of the 76, only three made it home and, of the remainder, 50 were murdered on Hitler’s orders, in direct contravention of the Geneva Convention. Joanna's father, Alec Bristow, was a WWII Mosquito Pilot, imprisoned in the camp at the time, and Joanna offers a popular talk on his memoirs of the occasion. She will be giving two addresses to RAF officers, at the museum located at original location of the camp (now in Poland) as part of the 80th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony.

Sunday 24th March, this year, is also Palm Sunday in the Christian Calendar this year. Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday, is the 6th Sunday of Lent and the final Sunday before Easter.

Traditionally it marks the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

The name is believed to commemorate the placement of palm leaves on the road to soften the surface for the donkey on which he was riding.

Equinox worm moonMonday 25th March@ 07:00 is Worm Full Moon and a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse. The start of the eclipse will be visible in London (from about 05:00) until the Moon dips below the horizon, see Time and Date for details.

Between Full Moon and the next New Moon is considered as a good time energetically for detoxing the body.

For details of Full Moon timings for the year, as well as instructions for an Angela McGerr Angelic Meditation with Gabriel, see Harmony Healing Full Moon link.

This year, since Joanna will be giving presentations in Poland at this time, there will be no live meditation, but you can purchase Joanna's pre-recorded any month Full Moon meditation. Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (£1 admin fee added for PayPal, concessions to RSE/VFoA graduates), book at the Harmony Shop.

Good Friday 2nd AprilFriday 29th March, this year, is also the Christian Festival of Good Friday, which is a Bank Holiday in the UK as part of the Easter break.

This commemorates the day when Jesus was crucified.

It was not called ‘Good Friday’ until 4th Century and may be a corruption of God’s Friday.

Easter Saturday 3rd AprilSaturday 30th March is Easter Saturday in the Christian Calendar.

It commemorates the day that Jesus was buried in a tomb following his crucifixion.

Last weekend in MarchSaturday 30th March, in the UK this year, is also when the clocks go forward.

In fact at 01.00 on Sunday 31st March is the start of British Summer Time/.

However, we often have a while to wait until summer arrives in the UK.

hare triscol by Jackie MorrisSunday 31st March is Easter Sunday, which is generally taken to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus three days after his crucifixion. Intriguingly, Easter Sunday is not a set date but is calculated according to the Lunar cycle, so it can move around between 22nd March and 25th April. It's fixed as the Sunday following the first Full Moon after the Vernal (Spring) Equinox. Coptic Easter, celebrated by the Orthodox Church is usually a week later.

This points to the celebration being linked to an earlier Pagan celebration, which were all associated with seasons and moon cycles.  The name Easter itself is derived from the Pagan God Eostre. the Easter Egg is reminiscent of the Pagan egg to symbolise fertility. And of course, the Easter Bunny, a strange addition to a crucifixion story, makes a lot more sense when viewed as a sign of spring, and possibly even a hare. Watch my YouTube presentation: Was Easter superimposed into an earlier Pagan Festival?

The Hare is another ancient symbol of fertility, with a 28 day gestation period very linked to the lunar cycle.

In Ancient Egypt the hare is a hieroglyph meaning ‘existence’

Moonwise Calendar 2022Celestial Forecast is compiled by Joanna Bristow-Watkins of Harmony Healing, the original is published at Joanna's Monthly Celestial Forecasts. It is created using many sources but notably the Moonwise Calendar and Lia Leendertz's annual Almanac. Whilst considerable effort is made to ensure accuracy, this is not an exact science and sources are sometimes contradictory!

These monthly Celestial Forecasts (CF) are generally uploaded to the Harmony Healing website 2-3 months ahead and can be accessed via the drop-down box on the right. They are sent out to the main mailing list and CF subscribers a few days before the month starts.

Extracts from the Celestial Forecast are reproduced in Glyden Magick, an online magazine offered via Gylden Fellowship which is a fabulous resource for Neo-Pagans (particularly in the South of England when physical meet-ups can resume).

To subscribe to the detailed Blog updates (headed with a title detailing the occasion/event so you can choose whether to open it or not), featuring New and Full Moon, meteor showers, eclipses and other meteorological events, interesting anniversaries, ancient festival dates plus notification of dates of numerological significance, sign up here. The nature of the Blog means that whenever there are several key dates in close succession, there will be frequent mailings.

If you would rather ONLY receive the monthly Celestial Forecast, select the appropriate subscription. You will receive occasional newsletters but this opts you out of the smart Blog which emails regular notifications as events occur.

Featuring four online modules of Khemitology (Ancient Egyptology according to the indigenous oral traditions), Violet Flame of Amenti, Mindful Chakra Balancing & Essene AngelologyMissed sessions are fully recorded so that late registrations or are possible. Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1 costs £266 and run about three times a year. the individual modules are stand-alone and cost either £88 or £66, hence the RSE 1 package offers a cost saving.

These are periodically interspersed by her one month Lunar Cycle Alignment Programmes. She is also an intuitive healer offering 1-2-1 distant healings and readings, plus MP3 recordings. • Forest Bathing Update 2022, Issue 1 - The Awakening Forest

Shaft of Light in the Winter Woodland

What an incredible week, with storm after storm, leaving a trail of disaster in roads and woodlands all over the UK. As I type this, we still have heavy gusts from Storm Franklyn and it's become a common site to see fallen trees, sadly cut and piled up by the side of the road.

As March approaches, we can look forward to extended daylight and the awakening of the forest with new growth at ground level as well as on the trees. And even where trees have fallen this last week, it will be amazing to observe the speed with which new saplings wll appear to fill the spaces.

Our friend and fellow Forest Bathing Guide, Lisa Duncan, has written an excellent guest journal entry on Forest Bathing for a wonderful UK based organisation called the Naked Pharmacy who offer amazing natural remedies made to pharmaceutical specifications. To read it, head over to the Naked Pharmacy Blog.

  • Forest Bathing Update 2022, Issue 10 - November & Slowing Down

    Autumn view square

November in Britain, with the clocks having gone back, features darker, colder nights, but is peppered with the explosive lights, sounds and smells of bonfires and fireworks, as Guy Fawkes Night (following Diwali, usually in October) is celebrated. Many animals, such as the hedgehog, start to hibernate for the winter.  Sometimes we humans feel like hibernating too, and in times past we would naturally have made changes to our daily lives. The magic touch of frost on the winter landscape can be utterly charming and provide a different kind of light.

This year in the UK, autumn has felt mild, and there’s still plenty of greenery about, along with the traditional colours of purple, brown, red and golden yellow, which will mostly be shed this month. Seed heads from 'old man's beard' in the hedgerows look magical as they catch the low sunlight and the morning dew. Seasonal in the kitchen this month we have Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, carrots, beetroots, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, kale, potatoes and winter squash  It remains good for harvesting chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts (particularly prolific this year) plus late-fruiting apples and pears, with a plethora of fungi, for those who know the edible from the ones best avoided.

The month of November was named after 'novem' meaning 9th in Latin, as November was the 9th month when the year started in March. To the Anglo-Saxons, November was called Blotmoneth, meaning “blood month” as this was traditionally the month of slaughtering and preserving meat to last through the winter.  It was also a month of feasting, as all the meat cuts which couldn’t be preserved were cooked up, making it a bountiful month, and helping folks keep warm.

During November, as well as Guy Fawkes Night, we can also look forward to the British Celtic Festival (specifically Irish, apparently) of Samhain (Celtic New Year = 1st November), which was a feast spread across three days, including bonfires representing the sun, and marking the start of the dark or winter period of the year, or Samonios. While Samhain marks the end of harvest and nature dying back, nature needs rest and renewal time, ready to burst out again in spring. For us, it is about nurturing ourselves, completing projects, and thinking about which aspects we want to bring forth in spring.

Joanna's Full Moon Meditation takes place 7.30-9.30pm (UK time) on Tuesday 8thwith the Beaver Moon peaking at 11:02. We also have the Leonid Meteor Shower peaking 17th/18th. We have Forest Bathing vouchers available as Christmas gifts.

Harmony in Nature Forest Bathing Events in Surrey/London

Despite the title, forest ‘bathing’ only involves water if it rains. We will be immersing ourselves in the woodland atmosphere, taking our senses for a meander among trees. You will learn how to enhance your perceptions and slow down, through the therapeutic benefits of guided mindful sensory activities with fellow nature lovers, becoming aware of what could easily be missed. We end with a ‘treelaxation’and aim to leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.

Forest Bathing is an evidence-based wellbeing activity. Spending time in woodland has been shown to potentially boost our immune system for 2-4 weeks, balance blood pressure, reduce blood sugars, stress and cortisol levels, amongst other benefits. Participants may feel a reduction in anxiety, depression or rumination, and an improvement in concentration, memory and creativity afterwards, as well as improved sleep.

We tend to offer fewer public sessions in the winter, although all our venues are available for private bookings, themed events and/or corporate sessions, so do enquire for details.

We have nature connection forest bathing events on Sunday 13th November (Shere), and Thursday 29th November (London SW20). See below for details.
