Autumn view squareDecember in Britain is the month with the least hours of daylight, but sunlight hours increase from 21st onwards, after the Winter Solstice. The increased daylight - promising optimism - is celebrated as Yule, and here in the UK, Christmas Day on the 25th, which pre-Christianity, in Roman times, was celebrated as the birth date of Sol Invictus (Roman Solar Deity).

Landscapes and gardens are skeletal now, except for the evergreens, looking charming when snow-covered and laced with spider's webs kissed by frost. Keep the shivers at bay with seasonal soups utilising Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, carrots, beetroot, parsnips, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, potatoes and winter squash. Enjoy nutty snacks from chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts. Late fruiting apples, pears and quince also remain plentiful together with mushrooms and black truffles.

The month of December was named after ''decem' meaning 10th in Latin, as November was the 10th month when the year started in March. To the Anglo-Saxons, December was called Ærra Gēolameaning “before Yule" or "First Yule".

During December, we can also look forward to the British Celtic Festival of Yule (Winter Solstice = 21st December) followed by the Christian Festival of Christmas (25th) which is also the Zoroastrian Celebration of Zartosht-no Diso and St Stephens Day/Boxing Day (26th) plus two annual Roman Festivals Bona Dea (3rd) and Saturnalia (17th), and the month culminates withNew Year's Eve(31st), celebrated as a two-day festival called Hogmanay in Scotland. We have Forest Bathing events on Saturday 4th (Newlands Corner, Guildford), Monday 6th (Horsell Common, Woking) and Saturday 11th (Harry Edwards, Shere). Our Mindful Chakra Alignment Course runs for three consecutive Wednesday evenings commencing 1st December (see listing below for details and link) and our Full Moon Meditation takes place 7.30-9.30pm (UK time)on Saturday 18th, with the Solstice Full Moon peaking the following morning at 04:36. Aligning with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, and our next Lunar Alignment Programme commences with the New Moon on 2nd January 2022.  We also have the Geminid Meteor Shower peaking 13th/14th.We have Forest Bathing and Harmony Healing vouchers available as Christmas gifts.

01 Dec Mindful Alignment with your 11 chakras Axiatonal Awakening 2Wednesday 1st December is the start of Harmony Healing Virtual Module: Mindful Chakra Alignment and Unity Consciousness(£66),7.15pm - 9.30pm (UK time/GMT = UK & USA friendly evening hours), 2¼ hours for 3 consecutive weeks ending 15th December, worth ½ unit towards RSE Level 1. Held remotely on Zoom.

03 Dec Bona DeaFriday 3rd December is the Roman Festival of Bona Dea, this being a smaller festival than the one celebrated on 1st May but similarly for women only. In Roman mythology, Bona Dea (literally "the good goddess") was the goddess of fertility, healing, virginity, and women.

She was the daughter of the god Faunus and was associated with supplying medicinal healing herbs in her temple garden. Bona Dea was also invoked for freedom from slavery; many of her worshippers were freed slaves and plebeians, and many were women seeking aid in sickness or for fertility.

Important News about Newlands Corner. Newlands Corner, our beautiful ancient forest site in Guildford Surrey, have put up our site rental price so much that we don't know if we will be able to continue offering public sessions there. We had to cancel our September event as the venue hire cost wasn't going to be covered. We will be forced to cancel Newlands events one week before if numbers are low, so please don't leave it to a last-minute booking or you stand to be disappointed.

13 Dec Geminids 2Monday 13th - Tuesday 14th December is the peak of the Geminid Meteor Shower. The Geminids are considered by many to be the best annual meteor shower and are known for producing multicoloured meteors 65% being white, 26% yellow, and the remaining 9% blue, red and green.

Rates typically peak at 100-120/hour; this high activity lasts for several hours. It is certainly possible to see 80-100 Geminids in a single hour, but only from a dark site! The Geminid Meteor Shower is expected to peak in activity on the night of December 13th-14th, although some meteors should be visible from December 7th – 21st. The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Gemini. Best viewing is usually to the east after midnight. The waxing Gibbous Moon approaching the Full Moon early on 19th December will hamper viewing due to light pollution. Go to timeanddate.com  for further information.

17 Dec SaturnaliaFriday 17th December is the Roman Festival of Saturnalia. This was the popular banquet commemorating the dedication of the temple of the god Saturn. It was marked by tomfoolery and reversal of social roles, in which slaves and masters ostensibly switched places.

The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, in the Roman Forum, and a public feast, continual partying with private gift-giving, gambling and a celebratory atmosphere that reversed the usual Roman social norms with masters provided table service for their slaves. The poet Catullus referred to it as "the best of days."

Saturn was an agricultural deity who, in Roman Mythology, was associated with the Golden Age, when humans enjoyed the spontaneous bounty of the earth without labour in a state of innocence. Further information, courtesy of Wikipedia.

20 October Full Moon MeditationSaturday 18th Decemberis our Full Moon Unity Consciousness Meditation, 7.30-9.30pm UK time (GMT/UT). This is the night before Full Moon takes place at 08:58 on the 19th.

Cost to participate is £20 by online BACS payment (small admin fee added for PayPal). This activity serves as a good taster of Joanna's work in general. For more details and to book, see Harmony Shop.

21 Dec Wnter SolsticeTuesday 21st December is the Pagan Solstice @ 15:58. It's the Winter Solstice here in the UK - the shortest day of the year with just 7 hours and 49 minutes daylight. The solstice itself is the moment the sun is shining farthest to the south, directly over the Tropic of Capricorn, so the time varies every year, between December 20th and 23rd.

The solstice marks the moment the sun shines at its most southern point and has been celebrated as a major Pagan festival, with rituals of rebirth, for thousands of years. Revellers gather at Stonehenge to watch the sunrise on the shortest day. Then, in the Northern Hemisphere, our days will gradually get longer until the summer solstice on Tuesday 21st June 2022 at 10:13.

Many of the traditions now associated with Christmas had their roots in Pagan Winter Solstice celebrations; including Yule logs, mistletoe and Christmas trees. The Druids  - an ancient Celtic order of priests, teachers, diviners and magicians who gleaned knowledge and enlightenment from sacred landscapes and ancient trees such as ‘Tutorial Oaks’ - used evergreen trees, holly and mistletoe to represent everlasting life. Druids would consider the cutting of trees as an offence against nature, but would decorate them with colourful rags tied on the branches.

25 Dec Xmas daySaturday 25th December is the Christian Festival of Christmas, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.

This is also the Fasli Zoroastrian Calendar is Zartosht-no Diso, commemorating the anniversary of the death of the prophet Zarathustra.

26 Dec Boxing DaySunday 26th December is St Stephen’s Day in the Christian Calendar, also known as Boxing Day.

Friday 31st December is New Year's Eve and Hogmanay in Scottish tradition.

Many Scots had to work over Christmas because celebrations were virtually banned in Scotland for around 400 years, from the end of the 17th century to the 1950s.

31 Dec Happy New YearThe Protestant Reformation led to the Presbyterian outlook, branding Christmas as a Popish or Catholic feast which was therefore prohibited.  As a result, their winter solstice celebrations took place at New Year when family and friends gathered for a party and exchange presents, especially for the children, which came to be called Hogmanay. Historians believe that the Vikings who, coming from even further north than the UK, paid strong attention to the passing of the shortest day and hence may have initiated the post-Solstice celebrations.  Image of fireworks over Edinburgh Castle by Chris Flexen.

There is no definitive view on the origins of the word Hogmanay. Many Scottish words have derived from Flemish, so one popular view is that Hogmanay came from hoog min dag which means great love day, whereas the Scandinavian word Hoggo-nott described the feast preceding Yule (itself a Scandinavian word commonly used in Shetland where the Scandinavian influence was strongest).

Alternatively, Hogmanay could source from the Anglo-Saxon, Haleg monath, Holy Month, or the Gaelic for new morning, oge maidne. Phonetically, a good candidate night be the similar sounding French expression Homme est né which means Man is born. Also, in France the last day of the year when gifts were exchanged was aguillaneuf, though specifically in Normandy presents given at the year-end were hoguignetes.

In Scotland a similar practice to that in Normandy was noted, rather disapprovingly, by the Church.

"It is ordinary among some Plebians in the South of Scotland, to go about from door to door upon New Year`s Eve, crying Hagmane." Scotch Presbyterian Eloquence, 1693.

Common Scottish practices on 31st December, before midnight, involve a thorough cleaning of the house (including taking out the ashes from the coal fire) plus the superstition to clear all your debts. Immediately after midnight, the long-held tradition to sing Robert Burns's For Auld Lang Syne has now evolved into a popular international custom.

Many areas of Scotland often developed their own local Hogmanay rituals such as the fireball swinging rituals in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, in northeast Scotland. Chicken wire structures - filled with old newspaper, sticks, rags, and other dry flammable material  - are attached to lengths of wire, chain or non-flammable rope. When the Old Town House bell marks the New Year, the balls are set alight and the celebrants set off along a heritage route, swinging the burning balls around their heads as they go. At the end of the ceremony, any fireballs that are still burning are cast into the harbour.

01 Jan New Years DaySaturday 1st Januaryis New Year’s Day and is a Bank Holiday in the UK and time for New Year’s Resolutions!

31 Dec Quadrantid MeteorsSaturday 1st – Wednesday 5th January (peaking on the 3rd, 4th January) is the Quadrantids Meteor Shower; visible from 1st – 5th January after midnight and peaking in the early hours of the 4th. With the New Moon on 2nd January, it could be a good year. Typically, 40 or so bright, blue and fast (25.5 miles per second) meteors will radiate from the constellation Bootes, some blazing more than halfway across the sky. A small percentage of them leave persistent dust trains. This shower usually has a very sharp peak, usually lasting only about an hour.

The particles that cause the Quadrantid meteor show originate from the asteroid 2003 EH1 an asteroid that is probably a piece broken off from an obsolete comet. Since the orbit of 2003 EH1 is highly inclined to the orbit of the Earth, the Earth passes through it very quickly. Thus, the Quadrantid meteor shower is an extremely short one, lasting only a few hours.  With the recent Full Moon on 30th December, there could be too much light pollution to see much.

Autumn view squareNovember in Britain, with the clocks having gone back, features more dark colder nights, but peppered with the explosive lights (and smells) of bonfires and fireworks as Guy Fawkes Night and Diwali are celebrated.

This year, autumn colours linger with purple, brown, red and golden yellow, with most of the green having gone as the trees continue shed their leaves. Some remaining colours cling on and seedheads from 'old man's beard' in the hedgerows look magical as they catch the low sunlight. Seasonal in the kitchen this month, we have Jerusalem artichokes, leeks, carrots, beetroots, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, kale, potatoes and winter squash  It remains good for harvesting chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts plus late-fruiting apples and pears, with a plethora of fungi for those who know the edible from ones best avoided.

The month of November was named after 'novem' meaning 9th in Latin, as November was the 9th month when the year started in March. To the Anglo-Saxons, November was called Blotmoneth, meaning “blood month” as this was traditionally the month of slaughtering and preserving meat to last through the winter.  It was also a month of feasting as all the meat cuts which couldnt be preserved were cooked up, making it a bountiful month and helping folks keep warm.

During November, as well as Guy Fawkes Night and Diwali, we have international festivals including World Vegan Day (1st) and Armistice Day (11th) and Thanksgiving in USA (25th) and, this year Hanukkah (Chanukah), which often falls in December, commences 28th November. We can also look forward to the British Celtic Festival Samonios (Celtic New Year = 1st November) which is also the Christian Festivals of All Saints Day(1st) and All Souls Day (2nd), St Andrew's Day to commemorate the Patron Saint of Scotland (30th). There are three annualEgyptian Festivals Hilaria (3rd), Khoiak (23rd) andNehebkau (29th), to celebrate we have a new series of Khemitology online module starting 10th November.  We have Forest Bathing events on Sunday 14th (Shere) and Saturday 27th (London SW20). Aligning with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, and our current Lunar Alignment Programme concludes with the New Moon on 4th November, the next one will be in 2022. Our Full Moon Meditation takes place 7.30-9.30pm (UK time) on Thursday 18thwith the Beaver Moon peaking the following morning at 08:58. We also have the Leonid Meteor Shower peaking 17th/18th.We have Forest Bathing and Harmony Healing vouchers available as Christmas gifts.

01 Nov samoniasMonday 1st Novemberstarts the first month of the Celtic Year, calledSamonios - 'Seed Fall'. Again this mirrors the death/rebirth cycle of Asar (Osiris).

It is thought that two Roman festivals became incorporated with Samhain - 'Feralia', when the Romans commemorated the passing of the dead, and 'Pomona', when the Roman goddess of fruit and trees was honoured. The Halloween tradition of bobbing for apples is thought to derive from the ancient links with the Roman fruit goddess, Pomona, and a Druidical rite associated with water.

This is also All Saints Day in the Christian calendar.

The text below, by Helen Benigni, was kindly taken with permission from the angelfire.com website, which may no longer be available.

The month of SAMONIOS is a month of miraculous births beginning with the appearance of the twin stars of Castor and Pollux on the Eastern Horizon. These miraculously born twins, from an egg containing both mortal and immortal potential, bridge the gap between this world and the Otherworld.

Literally translated as "seed fall," SAMONIOS is the month when the light of the Dagda, the seed of his loins, penetrates the womb of the earth and creates life. This light is symbolized by the sunrise of the Winter Solstice penetrating the inner chambers of the sacred mounds of the Neolithic peoples. At Newgrange, the sacred mound of the Bru na Boinne, the light of the Winter Solstice shines through a roof-box of white quartz for seventeen minutes to dramatically illuminate the cruciform chamber of the passage tomb. Here, the stone-carved geometric motifs common to trance states of shamanic ecstasy amplify the light in order that the observer may experience the light of life bestowed by the solar deity.

This solar alignment initiates the light half of the year. Mistletoe is hung as a symbol of the immortal love that the good father, Dagda brought to Boand, the goddess of the Bru na Boinne. Oengus, the son of their union and the Lord of the Sid mound, guards the entrance to the Otherworld and immortal life.

01 Nov World Vegan dayMonday 1st November is also World Vegan Day. In 1994, the event was established by Louise Wallis, then Chair of The Vegan Society, UK, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of coining the terms "vegan" and "veganism" and the founding of the organisation.

Tuesday 2nd November is All Souls Day in the Christian calendar, commemorating the ‘faithful departed’.

Wednesday 3rd November is Hilaria, the culmination of the Egyptian Festival of Isia, when Isis (Aset) resurrected Osiris (Asar) by re-membering him; no doubt contributing to the definition of our word remember meaning to recall someone from memory.

04 Nov New Moon SupermoonThursday 4th November@ 21:15 is the New Moon & Supermoon.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

04 Nov AmavasyaThursday 4th November is Amavasya, part of the Hindu, Sikh and Jain Celebration of Diwali, Festival of the Lights, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Themes, such as joy, forgiveness and knowledge over ignorance, are included as well as rituals to Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth and the legend of Rama and Sita is recited.

The full festival runs for five days, this year Tuesday 2nd - Saturday 6th November, with the main event, Amavasya, being on the third day. However, each day has its own significance. Image from Canva.

05 Nov Guy Fawkes NightFriday 5th Novemberis Guy Fawkes Night in the UK.  Some sources indicate that this replaced the Samhain Fire Festival, which was transferred in Britain to the night after Guy Fawkes's attempt to blow up parliament in 1605. The ritual burning certainly resembles the Pagan sacrifice of the corn king!

11 Nov armistice dayThursday 11th November is Armistice Day to commemorate all those who died in World War 1 and 2.

11 Nov 11 11 portalPoppies are traditionally used for this occasion.

We also have the annual 11:11 Energy Portal. With many people worldwide recognising the 11th November as a powerful date, this, in itself, will create a heightened energy on the day.

The effect of a high number of people all having positive expectations on the same date, due to the impact of quantum physics, will make it significant.

This year it falls in the abundance part of the lunar cycle, meaning it wil be a powerful day for manifestation.

16 17 Nov Leonid meteorsTuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th November is the Leonid meteors; one of the most prolific meteor showers also known as shooting stars. The shower peaks this year the night of 16th/17th November and 17th/18th November, but you may see some meteors from 6th - 30th November. The Waxing Gibbous Moon leading to the Full Moon on 19th will hinder viewing this year. See Time & Date website or EarthSky Website for more.

The Leonids have had occasional periods when hundreds of meteors can be seen, roughly every 33 years, and were especially stunning in 1799, 1833, 1866, 1966 and 1998.

This shower has produced amazing meteor storms in the past, but a Leonid storm is not expected this year. The Leonids are usually modest, with typical peak rates of about 10 to 15 meteors per hour, in the darkness before dawn. Look for the shower radiating from the constellation Leo after mid0night.

This meteor stream is associated with Comet Tempel-Tuttle. As the meteors in the stream are thought to be dust particles released from the comet it is thought likely that there is a dense stream of such particles in the path of the comet and located close to it. The Earth's orbit passes close to the comet's orbit each year in November and the Earth collides with these particles of cometary debris following the comet's orbit. According to the EarthSky Website, it is a myth that we need focus only on the radiant point to see Meteors. In fact it seems they often don’t become visible until they are 30 degrees or so from their radiant point, so they are streaking out from the radiant in all directions.

Thus the Leonid meteors – like meteors in all annual showers – will appear in all parts of the sky.

20 October Full Moon MeditationThursday 18th Novemberis our Full Moon Unity Consciousness Meditation, 7.30-9.30pm UK time (GMT/UT). This is the night before Full Moon takes place at 08:58 on the 19th.

19 Full Moon eclipseFriday 19th November@ 08:58 (Beaver Micro Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse)

The partial eclipse will be visible in parts of Europe, North & South America, Asia and Australia. It will be visible in London from 07.18 when the eclipse begins but will then disappear below the horizon. However, penumbral eclipses are not always easy to discern at all, but they do have an impact on us energetically. See more about the November eclipse on timeanddate.com.

23 Nov KhoiakTuesday 23rd November is the Egyptian celebration Khoiak and Nehebkau on Monday 29th November

The Egyptian Year was split into three seasons (divided into 4 months of 30 days), commencing with Akhet in early August, then Peret from late November to early April and Shomu from early April until mid July.  Khoiak was a sombre celebration to complete the first season; later associated with the death of Asar (Osiris).  However, it was followed closely byNehebkau - marking the start of the next season Peret - and was seen as a kind of rebirth process.

  • Friday 19th February, Kissing Friday

Kissing Friday by DarkWorkX from PixabayFriday 19th February is Kissing Friday. The days leading up to and into Lent were Collop Monday, Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Fritter Thursday and Kissing Friday (source: Lia Leendertz's2020 Almanac).

According to historic.co.uk, this bizarre custom was especially popular in the Victorian and Edwardian period and only died out in the mid-20th century. Although unthinkable these days, a schoolboy could kiss a girl on this day without fear of repercussions.

Of course, first of all the girl had to be caught and in some instances this involved tying ropes across the street and passing girls would have to pay a kiss for safe passage across the rope. Others would simply chase the girls until they caught them. Indeed, Kissing Fridaywas also the one day every year when girls could leave school early, to avoid being chased home by the boys.

In the Leicershire village of Sileby, this day was called Nippy Hug Day. Here, if the girl actively resisted a kiss, the boy could 'louse' (pinch) her bottom, a disturbing reference to the action of pinching off lice.

Similarly, in areas of Cumbria, the day was known as Nippy Lug Day, where the custom involved pinching the ears.

The date of Lent - which takes place in either February or March but always seven weeks before Easter - varies from year to year according to the lunar calendar which determines when Easter falls. The fact that Lent, and indeed Easter, are determined by the lunar calendar tends to suggest that they were superimposed over Pagan celebrations.

The Council of Nicaea, in 325 AD, approved a 40-day fast duration to celebrate Lent. This was the time period during which Constantine was striving for a harmonious union between the Christians and Pagans within the Roman Empire.

The start date of Lent was still under debate even after the Council of Nicaea. Pope Gregory, in 601, moved the commencement of Lent to Ash Wednesday (from the fourth Sunday of the year); this being 46 days before Easter. This allowed for 40 days of fasting with the six Sundays counting as feast days, making a total of 46 days for Lent. The tradition of using ashes to create the shape of a cross on parishioners foreheads was also instigated by Pope Gregory.

See bibleinfo.com,beaconoftruth.com, plant-lorecomwebsites for references. The latter two websites are not hypelinked because they flag up as insecure.

By partaking in old traditions such as Kissing Fridaycommunities retain a sense of harmony and connection, thereby bringing balance and wellbeing into their lives.

Aligning ourselves with other members of the community through mutual celebration is very therapeutic and is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

Harmony Healing activities are aimed at bringing harmony and wellbeing into your life. We have a new series of Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Level 1Egyptian Alchemy healing courses started this week with Violet Flame and Khemitology (late starts accepted until next week two has aired).

If you are looking for regular spiritually enlightening activities during lockdown, which help to connect you with the lunar cycle, we have the next virtual healing circle later this month on Friday 26th February, at 7.30-9.30pm (UK time = GMT), and costs £10 (+ £1 Paypal fee). During this session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness. This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme.

If you would like to experience one of our spiritual offerings (meditation, reading, 1:1 healing, a Forest Bathing+ session or a full mentoring course), why not ask for a Harmony Healing gift voucherfor a birthday or other celebratory occasion?

A number of virtual courses are now ready, details on Harmony Healing Virtual Events. Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

Joanna offers distant intuitive readings (past life and/or aura readings) and distant 1-2-1 healings and virtual healing circles. We also have meditations available.

  • Geminids Meteors, peaks night of 17th/14th December 2018

Geminid image from Earthsky websiteThursday 13th - Friday 14th December. The Geminids are considered by many to be the best meteor shower in the heavens, and are known for producing multicoloured meteors 65% being white, 26% yellow, and the remaining 9% blue, red and green. Rates typically peak at 100-120/hour; this high activity lasts for several hours. It is certainly possible to see 80-100 Geminids in a single hour, but only from a dark site! With the recent New Moon, viewing could be excellent, weather permitting. The Geminid Meteor Shower is expected to peak in activity on the night of December 13th-14th, although some meteors should be visible from December 7th – 21st. The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Gemini. Best viewing is usually to the east after midnight; ideally at 02.00 GMT. With the New Moon on the 7th December, this will be the waxing Quarter Moon, so not too hampered by light pollution hopefully. However the Geminid meteors – like meteors in all annual showers – may appear in all parts of the sky.

Go to Earthsky Website for lots of additional information, from which this image was taken.

Even if you can't see anything, there will be an impact energetically.

Zikiel croppedYou can invoke the Angel Zikiel (Angel Guardian of Meteors and Asteroids) to help bring in new ideas. The image of Zikiel (left) is by Richard Rockwood from Angela McGerr's Heart & Soul Angel Cards.

Zadkiel offers you a visionary flash of inspiration from the Sky.

Zikiel guides the comets and meteorites in their eternal passage through space, tracking man's galactic origins.

You can invoke Zikiel by calling his name three times (pronunciation = Zick ee el) and adding 'I call upon you to be with me now, 'in love & light, in love & light, in love and light'.

If you have a clear quartz, you can prgramme it with Zikiel's name and keep it with you to help capture any inspiration thoughts channelled from the heavens tonight and also to help your heart to make the right choices.

This ritual is taken from Angela McGerr's An Angel For Every Day - now out of print and in short supply. However, we do still have some of Angela's out of print titles (generally also personally signed by her) available via Harmony Healing Shop, which also has collectable signed copies of the Heart & Soul Angel Cards for £75 plus postage and packing, as well as some pre-loved fully complete sets for £20 + postage and packing.  An Angel For Every Dayis available at £35 (paperback) or £50 (hardback) plus postage and packing.

It is a fabulous day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2021. Creating a Vision Board which illustrates pictorially how you envisage your goals taking shape, really helps to make the possibilities seem real and attainable and gives a source of reference later when you want to look back and compare what you set out to achieve to what has materialised in the interim. Focussing on what you want to manifest in your life is a really effective way of bringing harmony and balance into your life.

This New Moon in April marks the start of my New Moon New Vision course runs 12th April to 11th May, taking in the Pagan Celebration of Beltane and the 555 numerology of 1st May. Join us for moon meditations, daily affirmations, vision board creation, manifestation and energy attunements!

The April/May lunar alignment programme follows a similar format to our New Year New Vision Lunar alignment course which we completed on the 12th February. Here's a typical response:

As we're almost at the end of the course, but still the beginning of a journey, I thought I'd share a few of the things that have changed for me during this moon cycle.

I have more space within... I can literally feel it - possibly as a result of the Soul Star and Earth Star Chakras attunement, and also because of the releasing that has been happening over the last 2 weeks.
I have recovered a routine which brings about a more productive day.
My brain has tuned into the fact that I need to lose weight... I've let go of snacking, I'm having beautiful detox baths and have done the oil pulling. I am doing daily dance exercises.
I am meditating more and got back on track with daily self-Reiki.
    I'm seeing the bigger picture.
    I am generally more focused.

Such positive stuff for everyday living! 💜

  • New Moon & Ash Wednesday, 6th March 2019

Wednesday 6th March is the Pagan New Moon @ 16.05.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours.

Wednesday 6th March this year is also Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is generally said to have been named after the tradition of burning away old issues in preparation for Lent.

The date of Lent - which takes place in either February or March but always seven weeks before Easter - varies from year to year according to the lunar calendar which determines when Easter falls.

ash wednesday image croppedHowever, Ash Wednesday could have obtained its name from an apparent tradition of placing a stick of Ash down one's sock for good luck!

Ouch, I can't see that being popular, but then maybe a smaller stick would have been advisable!

Interestingly, Ash Wednesday, although observed as a Christian Festival probably orginated as a Pagan Festival. It certainly isn't mentioned in the Bible, although in Biblical times, sprinkling oneself with dust and ashes was part of a Indian Vedic tradition as a mark of repentance, and repentance rituals were generally often accompanied with fasting. Furthermore, the German Pagans had a tradition of putting ashes over their brows to secure protection of the Norse God Odin (one of Odin's names in Norse is Ygg, which also means ash). Wednesday was Odin's day (our weekday name is directly derived from 'Odinsday'). It was only accepted into Catholic Church beliefs at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. The council also approved a 40-day fast duration to celebrate Lent.  This was the time period during which Constantine was striving for a harmonous union between the Christians and Pagans within the Roman Empire.

The start date of Lent was still under debate even after the Council of Niceaa. Pope Gregory, in 601, moved the commencement of Lent to Ash Wednesday (from the fourth Sunday of the year); this being 46 days before Easter. This allowed for 40 days of fasting with the six Sundays counting as feast days, making a total of 46 days for Lent. The tradition of using ashes to create the hape of a cross on parishioners foreheads was also instigated by Pope Gregory.

  • New Moon & Chinese New Year, 15th/16th February 2018

Thursday 15th February is the New Moon @ 21.06.New Moon image cropped toght

This New Moon Abundance ritual  should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

It is a good day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for the remainder of 2018.

Friday 16th February is the Chinese and Japanese Lunar New Year, following the New Moon. Celebrate with vegetarian snacks and fireworks, drums and cymbals from sunset onwards. Spring clean your house in preparation and decorate with strips of red paper with messages of long life, health, wealth & happiness. Visit friends and family, buy new clothes, especially shoes and settle debts.

The actual date of the Chinese New Year (also called the Spring Festival) changes from year to year.  This is because it is determined by the lunisolar Chinese calendar.  The festivities usually start the day before the New Year and continue until the Lantern Festival, the 15th day of the New Year.

Each Chinese New Year is characterised by one of 12 animals, which are rotated from those in the Chinese zodiac. Similar to the Western zodiac, the Chinese zodiac is divided into 12 houses, but with the major difference being that each house lasts one year instead of one month.  In addition each year is allocated one of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and these are changed every two years. So after the New Year has occurred:

Years ending in the numbers 4 or 5 = Wood
Years ending in the numbers 6 or 7 = Fire
Years ending in the numbers 8 or 9 = Earth
Years ending in the numbers 0 or 1 = Metal
Years ending in the numbers 2 or 3 = Water

freepik.com chinese new year concept with golden dog 23 2147732447The year just ending is the Fire (or Red) Rooster.

This will be the New Year of the Golden (or Yellow, or in some areas Brown depending on the colour seen as best suited to the earth element) Earth Dog. The dog is independent, clever and sincere. As man's best friend they are seen as extremely devoted and loyal; they can be relied upon to stick with you. Dogs are also pack animals, but which sometimes like to run off on their own.

The Year of the Dog is the eleventh animal in the cycle. The next Year of the Dog will be in 2030. Dog image on the right is a background vector created by Freepik.

The element of Earth represents growth and nourishment, associated with harmony, practicality and hard work. Earth anchors and sustains you and seeks to nurture and be nurtured. According to chinesefortunecalendar.com,2018 is male earth dog and male earth is associated with dry soil, mounds, walls or mountains, so 2018 will be a very strong Earth. Hence events linked to real estate, land, agriculture, territories, minerals and earthquakes will be active. Chinese Astrology also connects Earth to meditation, stability and religion, so there will be a growth in religious and spiritual studies.

A hard working and loyal Dog, combined with the sensible and steady Earth indicates a rewarding, secure and profitable year. Apparently it's a year when projects can blossom and thrive! The Earth Dog combines the diligence and integrity of the dog with a 'down-to-earth' climate, ideal for enduring enterprises which require persistence and tenacity. Investments in real estate are favoured in the year of the golden dog.

So the advice is to take advantage of a year of unity, peace and goodwill which will reward those who are hard working and persistent. Those who have the courage to face challenges and persevere will be recompensed. For more on your Chinese astrology seechina-family-adventure.com.

According to MoscowTimes.com, after the 2017 Year of the Rooster, appertaining to eccentricities, whims and a fight for pecking order [which world leader(s) elected in during 2017 could that remind you of?], the year of the Golden Earth Dog has potential for more solidarity, communication and co-operation. However, dogfights could erupt from the alpha male issue and rival small-knit splinter groups could form.  But provided the alpha male run-ins can be avoided, 2018 could herald a year for brotherhood philosophies, industrial scale collaborations and new policies of social justice and empathy, so here's hoping...

London hosts the largest Chinese New Year Celebrations outside Asia.  With the exact time of the New Moon falling around 9pm on Thursday 15th January, New Years Eve will be celebrated from the 15th with New Year's Day on Friday 16th, but the London celebrations are happening on Sunday 18th. See this link for full details.

  • New Moon Abundance Ritual & Vision Boards

Moon Scarletts shotAbundance cheques are a tool we can use to create more abundance in our lives. They are written within 24 hours after a New Moon.  There are video instructions on my Harmony Healing Facebook Page.

Surprisingly, you don't need to believe that the cheque will work when you write it.

Apparently, you will be amazed at the results, as you will see increased abundance in your life, in some life area. It is not always financial, but certainly in an area that you need. There is a traditional manner, which has been handed down, that must be followed. If you do not have a bank account you can draw a cheque on a piece of paper and fill it out the same way - the results will be the same, more abundance for you.

1.) Within 24 hours after a New Moon, take a cheque from your cheque book. Where it says "Pay to," write your name.
2.) In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a UK Sterling amount write "Paid in full."
3.) On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a sterling amount in figures, write "Paid in full."
4.) Sign the cheque: "The Law of Abundance."

Do not put a date on the cheque. Do not write a specific amount in the cheque. Put it in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe will take it from there.

Within 48 hours after a New Moon is a good time to work on your Vision Board, so this is a good time to create or update one for the rest of 2020. click here for a Vision Board template by Serafina Krupp based on the Bagua Map.

Aligning ourselves with the moon cycle is very therapeutic, hence being aware of the Full Moon (a good time for bringing projects to a conclusion) and the New Moon (good for starting new projects) is excellent for bringing harmony and wellbeing into our lives.

Monthly Virtual Full Moon Meditations, Global Healing & Unity Consciousness
Harmony Healing hosts a Full Moon Virtual Healing Circle,7.30-9.30pm UK time (GMT).

Participants all receive a deeply healing experience. Cost to participate is £11 by Paypal (£10 by online BACS payment) or half price to Violet Flame of Amenti or RSE graduates. During these monthly session, we connect with other like-minded people and together we work through a mindful chakra balancing process using colours and etheric crystals, with the aim that all participants will experience a degree of unity consciousness.

This activity serves as a good taster of my work in general and the virtual format of our Zoom based programme. And, most importantly, it's a step towards making a difference to the global predicament. To find out how working on your own spiritual consciousness can help humanity and the planet by raising the overall human consciousness levels, see my You Tube explanation.

    Connecting with the Moon
To connect with the 28 Mansions of the Moon (via their named Guardian Angels) join one of our complete Lunar Cycle Mentoring Programmes, such as New Year New Vision commencing Sunday 2nd January.

Harmony Healing utilises the philosophies of the Ancient Egyptians to bring balance and harmony. We have a number of virtual courses including monthly Full Moon Meditations with Unity Consciousness (online event for personal and global healing plus Joanna endeavours to get everyone into a unity consciousness experience) and also Reyad Sekh Em (RSE) Egyptian Alchemy Healing Level 1which is now fully available as interactive training modules, details on Harmony Healing  Events. Currently, due to Coronavirus, most events will be virtual hence distant readings and healings are proving popular. We don't recommend giving a reading or healing to another person, without first checking whether it would be welcomed.

If you are looking for spiritually enlightening activities, Joanna offers distant intuitive readings (past life and/or aura readings) and distant 1-2-1 healings and virtual healing circles. We also have meditations available.

  • New Moon and 10:10:10 numerology, 19th October 2017

New Moon image cropped toghtThursday 19th October is the Pagan Dark Moon at 20.12.

The New Moon Abundance Ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

Thursday 19th October this year is numerologically a secondary* 10:10:10 (and 1:1:1), being the 19th day (1+9=10) of the 10th month and the numerals of the year adding up to 10 (2+0+1+7 = 10). The numerology 10:10:10 traditionally symbolises Perfection because 10 10 is regarded as the most perfect of all numbers because it contains the unit 1, described as the creator’in the field of astrology and the zero, which depicts nothing yet encapsulates power (doing nothing therefore leaving the status quo still has an impact on any outcome) bringing profound change and completing the totality of the cycle, hinting at the circle of life. Since each 10 can be reduced to a 1 (1+0 = 1), the year could also represent 1:1:1 which is new beginnings.

    *The 10th October 2017 was a primary 10:10:10.

Sunday 6th January is New Moon @ 01.29 (Saturday night/Sunday morning). Partial solar eclipse, not visible in UK (visible in north Pacific and northeast Asia), see timeanddate.com.

This partial eclipse is in Capricorn, and according to thepowerpath.com it heralds a two week period in which to 'clean ourselves up'. This includes relationships (to yourself and others) and past emotional hurt; forgive and heal, set clear boundaries.

This New Moon Abundance ritual should be carried out within 24 hours after the New Moon.

    YouTube Video Instructions

It is a fabulous day for creating a personal or corporate Vision Board for 2019 to create new goals and release old ones. With the added energy of the eclipse a good clutter clearance would be in order.

Oh and put away the Christmas decorations for a year too as it's Epiphany

Epiphany is the name for Twelfth Night in the Christian Calendar. The day when traditionally the Christmas Tree and other decorations should be removed until the following year.

In Chinese astrology there is a 12 year cycle and this is the final day ofThe Year of the Dog which was supposedly a good time to make lifestyle changes (such as moving house, giving up smoking) or for embarking on new business ventures.  2018/19 was The Year of the Earth Dog which is even rarer, and happens only once every six decades.  The earth element made this concluding year one that focussed on the environment, integrity, religion and spirituality. The five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water rotate with each sign every twelve years, so it takes 60 years for the zodiac and element to repeat.
